Yeah, every time i was typing the other day, England scored which, apart from the English , no one really wanted

I shall voice my Japan support with...

.....

....
You have my permission to be as vocal as much as you like come Saturday evening, from 7pm King Time. :)

Over the years, as someone from Northern Ireland who doesn't want to go South, i've always had a love/hate relationship with the English football team - mainly the media, over hyping average teams but also the horrid Rooney chips by the pool etc.

No doubt though, the calm and assured Southgate and the increased PR respectability of the Team, they are the most likeable Team over the last 25 years. And once they go out i do lose interest - even if it is someone not to want to win :p

Even Ian Wright is 10% of his previous irritation, though that has been replaced by Linekar and his woke mission.

Now, if only they could fire David Baddiel into space, i'd be happy.

What would be good would be:

Scotland win the world cup next time - by default/bribery, it doesn't matter: a win is a win

England, upset by the trophy being a mere meter over Hadrians war, decide: Fuck that, that's ours, you Jocko bastards.

England invade:

That's where it gets interesting

Scottish fans, well 50%, wondering: i think i'm Scottish but i'm also a Rangers fan, so what side do i fight on?

Meanwhile, Nicola runs for her life.

First 30 minutes of the Brazil vs South Korea game, Brazil looked and played like they were on another planet, let alone higher level. They were just quality and a joy to watch.

However, both sides of the draw looking extremely strong. If England don't win it ( They won't ) - I will be rooting for Brazil, purely based on the fact I have them in the sweepstake :D

Here's the way England beats France.

I haven't watched any games up to now but I'll get on board for the quarter finals onward.

Fairweather fans eh....

Well I'm not really interested in football, never have been, I don't even support a team in a vague abstract sort of sense. (Back in the day (I'm talking the 1980s) I'd have said I was a Man Utd fan but the game has been so utterly and completely corrupted by money that I find it all rather distasteful.)

But that said, if the national side do well in a tournament, I'll watch them. (I'll probably have some slots going on a tablet at the same time though, in case the game is boring.)

Portugal running rampant.......4-0. And to think there's still 35 minutes to go

Switzerland gave up the ghost after the second goal anyway, but in terms of sheer attacking verve, Portugal look sublime. Wouldn't fancy anyone's chances against them now, bar a straight shoot-out between them and Brazil.

And all this without Ronnie too!

edit : seems like what Jon said, Switzerland have got a consolation goal. Didn't even realize they'd scored - it's like their fans are muted

Spain manager Luis Enrique sacked after guiding Spain to completely nothing, screwing up Germany's WC, and with Japan also out, leaving the tournament having ruined everyone's Christmas!

Though how Herr Flick is still in charge of Germany is beyond me. Must be a golden contract :p

Ole!
