Additionally upon entering the competition your forum account goes into a random draw to be held on the 12th June, whereby each entree is assigned at least one of the 48 participating World Cup teams.

Players can register their interest in the World Cup Sweepstake from 1st June!

Should there be less than 48 participants on the 11th June, forum accounts could be drawn more than one team in the random draw.

Based on how well your drawn team does in the World Cup you can win one of these prizes:

Winning Team - €150
Runners Up - €100
Third Place - €50

I mentioned before that I would do something on here with the winnings if I won anything.

Is that ok?

When I drew Argentina I thought I had a good chance of placing in the money and it looks like they will be finishing runner up so it will be 100.

I'll post my ideas later but just wanted to confirm before posting!

I've got a rough idea to make it interesting but would want to do it in a way that you don't have to do much except get the winners details.

Don't think you will want to tally any more screenshots for a bit after that goal comps :laugh:

I haven't been paying attention to this despite it being hosted in my neck of the woods.

Is Saudi Arabia doing good? Because that's my team for the contest . Hope they're doing good!!

Absolutely. They've gone back home 3 weeks ago but they did a great job.

Taking this opportunity to point out that the comp wasn't very engaging. There were 8, perhaps 10, people who had a chance to win something due to the nature of the competition. Now it turns out numbers 1 to 4 on the FIFA ranking were in the semi finals, not very exciting for those that drew a country like the aforementioned Saudi Arabia or Haiti or just a run of the mill team that would do a great job making it to the quarter finals or the like. Anyway, my 2 cents :thumbsup:

I was waiting for @Webzcas to confirm as I've settled on doing my 'penny up the x wall' idea I posted in the comp input thread and it will probably need it's own thread.

Only the non-winning members from the sweepstake and goals comp can take part and do the 300x target up until the end of the month starting on monday.

The rules will be modified slightly from the idea i posted and I will try to include the members who can take part in the comp rules.

Would probably split the prize into three so the top three closest would get something (45/30/25???). If Argentina win there would be an extra 50 to do something with as well.

I also thought that it would be good if the members keep track of the progress by updating the top three closest on each page as it goes along rather than expecting @Webzcas to do it.

It should be easy to see the winners by the end that way and he would only need to get their details.

I see. Yeah, such an elaborate comp might need its own thread rather than the community giveaway one :laugh: But if you run it you might have to be the referee and bookkeeper yourself, not sure how that's handled since it's not an "official" CM comp. Better wait for Webzcas because I might be chatting shit.

I thought it might be more interesting to have a comp style thing up until the end of the month rather than just a random draw.

As its pretty straightforward could just wait until the end and figure out the closest participants. Won't take too long.

Might actually make it more fun to not post the leaders as it goes along, just get as close as possible in 5 screenshots without knowing too much. If people want to they can go through the posts themselves while its running to see who is closest. Also no one has to take part if they don't want to.

I'd assume the members are decent people and aren't going to be funny over 40 quid so it would be cool if @Webzcas doesn't have to do much. That goal comp looks like it's been a lot of work to keep track.

If not then I'll suggest something simple, would be a bit boring tho imho :laugh:
 
I checked after posting last night and realised that there would only be around 25 participants as there were double allocations in the sweepstake and 13 will be excluded as they will win a prize from the two comps.

I'd be happy to keep a spreadsheet or something to calculate the totals. Will just do it at some points during the week.

It will only be around 125 screenshots max so shouldn't be too hard.

Ok, @2Slots has contacted me and is of the view he does not want to accept his prize in the sweepstake.

Therefore, @mcgameboy now is deemed to have finished 2nd and @zellie moves into 3rd place and wins €50

I will be contacting you both and @lockinlove later today concerning payment details :thumbsup:
