As a casino software provider, it feels like NetEnt have well and truly dropped off the face of a cliff in recent years. Whether it was the Evolution buyout, or well before then. They just aren't the developer many of us remember them to be.

Possibly one of the more shameless acts was turning the NetEnt official website into some sort of affiliate site, with casino links here, there, and everywhere. I believe that still hasn't changed.

However, there was a time, possibly around 2010, when they ruled the slots landscape. Granted there weren't as many competitors back then and nerfed RTP's was not even an idea in a greedy executives mind. But they were also a company that came up with some very imaginative and exciting slots.

My go-to NetEnt slots back in the day bizarrely all began with the letter 'E'. They were Eggomatic, Evolution, and Elements. Even though these 3 games were very different, they all had something about them that kept me coming back for more. Whether it was features, mechanics, sound tracks, graphics, there was something quite addictive about these games and many more from this company.

I am curious to know if the CM members also took similar enjoyment from NetEnt slot - if so, which ones?

I am sure we are going to hear plenty of mentions of DOA and I dare say Starburst may get a mention as we probably all played at some point to play though our bonus when we signed up at a new casino. However, I am also interested in slots that aren't as well known that may have been your first port of call or maybe still are.

I think personally they got complacent and had already hit their peak before the Evolution buyout, which made the founders and shareholders behind NetEnt a staggering sum. Something in the region of €1.8bn. I mean that is just eyewatering!!

Starburst is arguably their most well known game, probably due to its infamy LOL.

For me, not really played many of their games. So I will probably be boring and say DOA.

Favorite is Dead or Alive 2 as I won around 100 000x on it. Second favorite is Dead or Alive/Who's the bride as they have given me many wild lines. A slot I miss is Devil's Delight. Gave me good wins and was really stable and let me play for a long time. I guess that's why it never came back.

Miss Egg O Matic (although truth be told, not even thought about it in a long time till this thread popped up lol)

CFTBL - great game and play DoA regularly too. For some reason despite the potential (potential that we actually get to witness lol :p) I've never really taken to DoA II

I do miss the original old style VS Battle weekends where it would pretty much always be 2 x Netent games which were rarely dull and boring, yes even Starburst!

Creature From the Black Lagoon - is very nice.
Frankenstein
Super Eighthies (thanks Dunover)
Funky 70s
Groovy 60s

Hard to beat Netent's dominance in the early to mid-noughties, as near-enough every slot was a banger and managed to retain a unique charm all of its own!

Jack and the Beanstalk was almost the perfect package and ushered in a new dawn of 'complete' games that weren't basic or formulaic re-skins of their older format titles. Tidy gameplay, engaging theme and of course those bobbing wilds make this a medium-variance great 🙌

Reel Steal with its somewhat punishing variance made for great anticipation and DOA-adjacent funk, another All-Star addition.

Space Wars was somewhat quirky in its non-bonus-based mechanic but creatively up there with the best, just for sheer visual fidelity. Fisticuffs is in the same mould and somehow never tiresome.

Muse was great, one of Netent's more underrated and certainly underappreciated titles in recent years.

And for all its no-frills spinning, Steam Tower was most definitely one of Netent's last 'good, not great' titles, from which many a balance could be salvaged from the depths. Yet let's be honest, it was harder to pick a game one actively disliked during this era, than not. God bless 'em for that 🙏

Apart from the utterly vile St*rb*rst they made some great games. I played Twin Spin, Twin Spin, Twin Spin, Wild Rockets, Big Bang, Go Bananas, TFTUT and Wishmaster which paid me over 3400x on New Year's eve at Betat once. Mentioned in dispatches are Steam Tower, Jungle Spirit, JaTB and Reel Steal.

I recall my heart dropping when we learned that the stupid UKGC had decided that all "child themed" slots should be bannished. Casinos where left to interpret for themselves what constituted "child themed" and although other casinos culled Jack and the Beanstalk the likes of L&L and Videoslots chose to keep the little skinny shit :)
Jack gave me my first real big win and sparked my appreciation of Netent slots.
Just the thought of Secret of Christmas still gets me itching to deposit and I love Secret of stones too.
Since the introduction of DOA2 I think that Netent have declined in their new offerings. Or maybe I simply have not given them enough attention since the likes of NoLimit City began higher volitility slots?

very good point actually!

I though emoji planet was pretty interesting before it was canned same for planet of the apes.

these days ill play Warlords, Wild Worlds, Space wars 2 powerpoints, Street fighter 2, Reef raider (if can find it at 96%) notice how their popularity has dropped like a stone ever since they started messing with the RTPs.
