Anyone heard of Emu Casino?

Just received a cheesy invite email. Looks like a flash only MGS casino.

If the invite is any indication, it looks amateurish at best.

Info at bottom:

emucasino is owned by Emu Group Ltd (MT), PO Box H213 Australia Square, NSW 1215 Australia. emucasino is operated under PANDA MEDIA N.V., a corporation organised and established under the laws of Curaçao, at E-Commerce Park Vredenberg, registered at the Chamber of Commerce Curacao with number 98585; with gaming license number is 5536/JAZ.


I also thought it was illegal for an Australian company to offer casino games to Australian citizens...??

Never heard of them.

But it says in their T&C:

"When you sign up at emucasino.com (emucasino), you enter an agreement through Emu Group Ltd (MT) with Panda Media NV, which has its registered office in Curaçao, with the registered address Engelenweg 23, Curaçao, N.A"


Max just recently issued a warning regarding a casino called videoslots.com here: https://www.casinomeister.com/forums/threads/video-slots-is-enforcing-predatory-max-bet-terms.52066/

Videoslots.com is owned by Panda Media Ltd. Not exactly the same as Panda Media NV, but I would guess there is a connection here?

But I am not familiar with any of these, so what do I know

The misunderstandings arose because they introduced themselves to the player community via a spamming campaign. This means that when researching the casino, there is already a bias towards assuming there is something dodgy going on which needs to be uncovered. It is doubly unfortunate that they used the name "Panda media" which is already being used as a trading name by another company registered in a different jurisdiction. Players just see "Panda media", and assume it is the same company. The difference between N.V and Ltd is lost on the average punter, so it will look like two branches of the same company. It could also lead to a lawsuit, just try calling it 32Red N.V and see how far you get

It still fails to address the Australian connection, which makes it appear that is is an Australian based company that has started operating a casino via an offshore subsidiary with the intent to get around the Australian rules and offer unlicensed (by Australia) gambling to Australians.

When John Abbot ran GoneGambling, he blocked Australians even though GoneGambling itself did not offer any games of chance for real money. He believed that if he did allow Australian members, he would have his collar felt by the Aussie authorities. I suspect these authorities might consider taking action against the Austalian based holding company, even though it does not actually operate any gambling sites itself. It seems a risky setup, far better to move the main holding company offshore too.


on the other hand, Casino Rewards seem to get away with it, and they have even opened a thinly disguised Aussie facing version of one of their casinos that they bought from a distressed operator.

I'm an aussie and I found them in google. Thanks to this forum I now study the rules before joining any casino. I did not join emu. I could not make hide nor hair of the bonus rules Bonus Turnover: 25 x bonus and deposit. $100 deposit + $100 bonus means $5,000 turnover before you can withdraw. This is very high for a microgaming casino. Read on a bit further and spot 35x deposit and bonus. Kept reading but became more confused. I gave up.

I'm always into freebies so I gave them a whirl when I got their 'out of the blue of the emails' I like the games, I like that its supposedly Australia (our sister country) - However I just have an uneasy feeling about them Dont know why.... Might be just because they're new. I think, I'll wait for a bit to see how they go before actually depositing real money

Found this on LGA's homepage about Videoslots.com. I guess the Malta holding company has confused quite a lot of players for LGA to send out a statement.

Good point. Google "gaming license 5536/JAZ" and you get pages of results. Some of them state it is a "Master gaming license" which would suggest it is connected with a white label provider or perhaps an intermediary that on-sells a license.

I found this which seems to confirm that hunch:

So the master license is held by a company called C.I.L. Curaçao Interactive Licensing N.V. All these casinos presumably pay for a sub-license from that company.

It still doesn't really explain the Panda Media connection.

AFAIK Panda Media own a ton of affiliate portals like races.com.au, horseracing.co.uk, onlinegambling.com etc.

They also run sportsbetting.com.au, so it would not be a surprise to me if they now are behind Emu Casino.
