I just got this email:

Make sure you make the cut!
======================================

As a loyal player, I wanted to give you a heads up on what is about to happen to EcoCard, your preferred payment option. EcoCard has informed us that they are pulling out of the US market, but they are ensuring that good players will have another secure depositing method made for them.

But what is a good player?

According to EcoCard, it is a player who has deposited
over $500.

To secure your place at All Jackpots Casino, be sure to deposit at least this amount by this Saturday, July 14th, 2007.

In the meantime, be sure to stay up to date on the official blog of the Jackpot Factory spokesperson,

Well, if that really is the case, the only thing I can say is that US players need to stop playing NOW. This sounds reminiscent of Click2Pay when they started with the $1,500 minimum for withdrawal crap, and only via bank wire. And you had to send an email to some special email addy, along with a secret handshake, to get your money. Too cloak and dagger for my liking.

It's all fine and dandy that the casinos are looking at new deposit options. How about coming up with some tried and true, and trusted, withdrawal methods? Ones that don't take months to reach you. People, please....just because there is or may be a deposit option available, that does not in turn imply that there is an equally reliable withdrawal option. And the casinos will continue taking deposits as long as they can. It's not that the reputable ones don't want to payout in a timely manner, I truly believe they don't know from one day to the next what is going to be available. You can't rely on a casino, any casino, to tell you "don't deposit, because we're not sure if you can withdraw". That will never happen. So it is up to you to make the choice of what you do with your money.

And get writing to those representatives in Congress, who are the only ones who can really do something about this mess. It's been posted before, but if someone has it handy, could they post the link to the list of State Representatives with contact info?

Edited to add: If anyone has any more info, please post it. An email from Jackpot Factory is fine and dandy, and I don't doubt what's being said...but if anyone has anything more direct from EcoCard, I'd like to see that as well.

Well, hell... I've got an account but never used it as it is such a pain to fund. (No way I'm setting up any account to do with gambling w/access to my bank account.) Last avenue closing up folks. Please don't wait till the last minute to pull out your funds...

Last one out, turn off the lights...

Double Ditto,
Registered one but never funded it. I only have $250.55 tied up in the Neteller fiasco but the idea of funding another web wallet during the 270 day period gave me the trots so I kept putting it off. I am now glad I did.

Hold on a minute.
Has anyone heard from EcoCard whether this is true?

Is the casino urging you to deposit $500 into your EcoCard account..or into the casino?

I don't think I'll panic just yet.

I was hoping to give a heads up, so people didn't get blindsided like Neteller and Click2pay.

I had set my Eco up about 2 months ago when that was the only option for withdrawl from a casino. I've never won enough money to consider waiting for a check, so the Eco was working well for my small withdrawls. It was like my little gambling fund. Right now I have about $200 in Eco and am not sure what to do with it. Guess dump it in a casino and hope for the big one eh? Kinda hard to get the "big one" when your a super low roller though.

Ah well, hope it helps some people stay ahead of the game.

I agree Swampy, to a point anyway. That's why I wish someone had some info from EcoCard directly. Going on past performances of other EWallets ie. Neteller and Click2Pay, that's why I'm likely to believe that EcoCard is pulling out. Neither Neteller nor Click2pay gave anyone any warning of what they were doing either, until it was too late to get your money out. If I had money there, I'd rather be safe than sorry.

But, the email is ambiguous. Is a good player one who has deposited $500 at Jackpot Factory? Or one who has made a total of $500 of deposits into a variety of casinos, using EcoCard. Definitely some clarification needed.

I thought it was strange too. The one line I had deleted from the email stated I had deposited $150 from Eco to All Jackpots and I still needed to deposit $350 more into my All Jackpots account. Maybe I should have left that line in the email, but felt it a little personal.

Also strange I got the email after making a $100 withdrawl (to Eco of course) from All Jackpots.

Hmmmm..... it is strange. I can understand not wanting to post it Tweet, but am glad you did. Someone needs to get David Brickman to clarify this, or EcoCard. I'd prefer to hear from both.

Eco has never been good at communicating with me, so I haven't bothered to contact them. I can tell you there is nothing to be found 'inside' after logging in.

Ditto here Mousey . I have never used mine either and it looks like I won't be .
i always used western union or moneygram and was saving the eco as a back up, well i guess it back fired on me. i would still like to see more proof.it feels like its all starting to close in for the u.s player like your getting backed into a corner.not a good feeling at all.

I know Laurie .
I think right now IF I deposit it will be to Inetbet . They will deposit right to your bank account within 24 hours of cashingout .
Hmmm well that was 3 weeks ago .

Guess thats where I'll dump my $200 from Eco. Then have that $19,000 Aladdin's jackpot transferred straight to my bank account. :D

But I wouldn't agree that Click2pay shut off US customers like Neteller did. The fact is that C2P never stopped allowing transfers to casinos, so it's just a matter of moving your money to a casino that will pay out by another method. If only Neteller had kept that option open for a short grace period after announcing its departure from the US market, I would have had my frozen funds months ago.

One must remember that All Jackpots hasn't exactly been adverse to using, shall we say, "colorful" marketing tactics.

Swamp, after reading your post and then re-reading the letter, that exact thought came to mind. Then I thought...no, they wouldn't, would they?

So I PM'd David, who said that he will make a post in the thread, once he's gathered all the info.

Now, if anyone has any contacts at Eco, that would be even better.

No, I agree Sdaddy, they acted somewhat more responsible, but still not in an acceptable manner in my book. They just arbitrarily removed the withdraw function from US accounts, and the contact phone # for the US no longer worked. People were left trying to contact them via email support, which is terrible. And then to find out that unless they had at least $1,500 in there, they couldn't withdraw, only deposit to a casino. I'm sure there are lots of low-rollers like me, who don't keep $1,500 or more in an EWallet. I just didn't like any of it. But I do see your point. :)

I don't want to see anyone get shafted again is all I'm trying to say. Let's hope that some of this can get cleared up later today at some point.

Still no reply from ECO. Like I said, not having an active account... well... why bother with me. LOL

Hopefully Brickman will be able to clarify some of these things.

It's a shame, ya know. We shouldn't have to depend on a casino to fill us in on what is going on at an ewallet. Do these people who run NETeller, C2P and ECO, etc. think that keeping users informed of what's going on with their customer accounts is nonessential? If they do tell customers, it's like an afterthought, after we've already screamed at them....

I've had no reply from Eco. I emailed shortly after posting here yesterday.

After checking my email this morn, I noticed the subject line from that email: Don't be locked out of All Jackpots Casino :what:

Locked out? Because some Ewallet folded? What would that have to do with my casino account? Something is very fishy round here.

I'm new to this forum stuff, so excuse the unorganized way I've posted.

I just called All Jackpots and asked for explanations.

He confirmed Eco was pulling out, but will retain "good customers". This meaning someone who has used Eco to make at least $500 worth of deposits. Deposits to any casino, not $500 to each one. The reason the email stated I needed to make more deposits was because they only have the info for All Jackpots and not what I may have deposited through Eco at others. He said if I've made $500 worth of deposits using Eco, Eco will invite me to use a new payment option. Sounds to me it's like what Click2pay did. No new customers, but active customers could still use their account.

As far as the subject line stating I could be locked out of All Jackpots, he said they wanted to keep me as a player and after August 9th, 270 days after the banking laws went into effect, if I didn't have a set depositing option (like Eco) I could technically be locked out of using All Jackpots due to not having a way to deposit. He said in no way would All Jackpots lock my account.

If he was correct in what he's stated, I guess you could consider the email as a good warning. Something I sure haven't gotten from Eco.

Interesting, but very misleading... if eco uses a $500 per month for ALL purchases threshold, and JPF is extrapolating that into $500 per month in purchases for themselves.
