I really love this game, it's my favourite NetEnt game and I've had a couple of nice wins on it so far, but I've discovered a "Glitch" in the freespins.

At 01:30 in the video below you can clearly see a Nitro symbol land in the middle reel behind the 3x multiplier symbol, but it doesn't get activated on the meter on the left of the screen.

And for anyone wondering, when the Nitro symbol falls behind a multiplier it does indeed (and is supposed to) add to the meter, as you can see happen at 02:20 of the video.

This annoys the crap out of me.

What gives?

It might simply be that it 'appears' to fall behind the symbol. As most slots players know, the images whizzing by are just eye candy and not actually representative as what 'whooshes' by. This is best illustrated by people with realllllllly slow computers and internet connections, where they see one symbol slowly crawling and about to land and 'miraculously' changed to another symbol.

If you watch the video you can see that it doesn't just simply "appear" to fall behind the multiplier symbol, but it ACTUALLY DOES land behind the symbol

Check it out for yourself. ;)

I watched the video before posting. It appears to yes. I'm saying that 'may' have have been merely the eye candy representation. The only real way to know for sure is to ask for the game logs

Or it could be game misrepresentation ;)

When a slot gives you an important symbol it is hardly "eye candy". The symbol clearly falls on the reel an should act accordingly.

That's like the 3rd scatter falling on dead or alive and it not giving you the freespins and then saying, well "It may appeared to have landed, but it could just be eye candy".

No offense, and I am not trying to be rude about it, but the symbol lands on the reel and it doesn't add to the meter as it is clearly supposed to.

It's there to see.

And..explained in the above post. If it fell behind the overlay, it doesnt seem to matter.

I like the concept of this game but I've gone through a couple of hundred at least without ever hitting the x4 wild let alone the x5 and hit the bonus round many times and it has paid absolute crap every time (no win over 20 x bet including free spins)
It also frequently goes on droughts of 20+ spins without any win and since it is almost impossible to hit any kind of win in the main game and I'm at a loss as to how to win on it.

I think you were unbelievably lucky to hit that x5 win given the x5 wild only appears around every hundred spins and getting any 4 OAK is a freak even to have a chance at it let alone 4 decent paying symbols and hitting.

It is a fun game but like any slot, if I can't hit anything then I soon lose interest.

Good luck, hope you get more screenies.

Those wins were from the freespins mate

If you collect 9 nitro symbols during freespins, then you get 3 overlay wilds on each of the remaining spins (that's where the hits will come), I was lucky to have unlocked them early.

I will definitely be playing it alot more. Hopefully your luck changes and you will have screenies of your own :p

EDIT: And yes it definitely can be really streaky.

Same. Wouldn't be the first time a miscredit and game glitch has occurred, nor $hitty graphics in play (like images on reels that don't exist in play to potentially land).
Let's hope poor graphical design eh

I saw the vid and at 1:30 im sure you got the nitro but it didnt activate and at 2:20 you got it again but this time it activated. :what:

Thats weird though and I would assume its a glitch as well.

I watched the video and I agree the spins look identical in the way the nitro symbol landed on the multiplier. The fact it gets awarded at 2.20 and not at 1.30 is a bit worrying.

I hope some kind rep or casino asks someone at NetEnt about it because it does look strange.

Guessing we'll be s.o.l.
Micro/NetEnt notorious about not answering Qs here.
But maybe if the op asked the casino in question

In my opinion, this definitely IS a glitch. (Or VERY sloppy programming).

It is true that to a certain extent the spinning reels are just "eye candy", and in most cases the final reel position is "cut in" just before they stop spinning.
This can frequently be observed if you play a lot, as symbols which do not lie next too each other on the reel strips can appear to be adjacent just before the reels stop spinning. e.g. you might see TWO wilds or TWO scatters next to each other.

With MG, the cut-in sometimes includes 2 or 3 extra symbols which "run off" the bottom of the screen, but with NetEnt they don't do this, and it's only the final 3 symbols which are cut-in.
But in the video above, the Nitro definitely appears to be in these "final 3 symbols" as you can actually see it stop. = Glitch.

Having said all that, I get the impression that recently NetEnt have been using different developers for some of their games, so it could be a slightly different "engine".
The way to tell for sure (which I haven't done yet) is look carefully at reel 3 (when stopped) and see if there is a Nitro symbol on the reel strip between the 2 characters (Twitch & Hamaki) which end up above & below it in the video.

{Edit} OK - been and watched about 8 videos of free-spins now, and observed the Nitro landing on reel 3 about 15 - 18 times:
It appeared in 3 different places on the reel-strip, with a J, Q, and A above it, and a Car below in all three cases.
The only time I saw Twitch & Hamaki, there was a 10 between them (see screenshot).

Conclusion: VERY sloppy programming.

Could not agree more KK with the 'very sloppy programming' part especially.

Netent are guilty of this in numerous games, whereas using MG as a comparison seem to have made a bit more of an effort.

Example: We all know reels, symbols etc are as mentioned eye candy and the final result is pre-determined and displayed when all reels are fully 'stopped'

However say you are playing Immortal Romance and the 3rd scatter needed to trigger the bonus stops just above the window, when you next click spin, you will see the scatter appear straightaway (IE: it is still just out of the window)

Now If your playing a Netent title (I will use one of my faves 'Egg O Matic' as an example) you have a FS egg above one of the reels (say reel 3) and as the spin comes to rest you see a 'Wild' just above but it 'bounces back up'

Next time you click spin, the wild is no where to be seen and no longer just above! This is the case with a LOT of Netent games, the only exception I have noticed (from the handful I play) is DOA where the symbol 'just above' remains Just above next time you spin!

Sounds a bit sad maybe but I know the reel layout on a few MG games (especially IR) and almost know if I stand a chance of landing the 3rd scatter depending on which symbols are showing towards the end of the spin.

On Netent games its anybody's guess as described in this thread, symbols appear totally 'out of the blue'

As a conclusion IMO its lazy programming, possibly combined with a slow Internet connection and a laggy PC which could make the problem appear a lot worse.

Would definitely like a NetEnt or Rep explanation.

That's a very telling shot you grabbed from the OP's video there - you can see the Nitro with a car below, as one would expect from the investigations detailed in my previous post, and Hamaki above = the beginning of the "cut-in" of the final 3 symbols.
So the illusion of the Nitro stopping behind the wild is just that - an optical illusion. Possibly caused by a bit of lag...?

KK

@Jon i know what you mean with that above thing. in neon staxx they even mirrored the 'above' for nothing but to piss people off like having 2 scatters on the screen and the third stopping on visible and useless 'above'(inspired from Thuderkicks Arcader most likely:rolleyes:). can't recall playing neon for real but played thru VS buyin battles and the 'above' thing made me mad.
as for Drive good finding we must hear an explanation.

Didn't see any lag. I doubt the Nitro's are actually on the reels. Probably just 'randomly' overlaid (adding up to some RTP of course).
This one should have counted, I'm sure.
