Down the rails bug - Pragmatic

On the 25th Aug I played on the "Down the rails" slot, which I noticed a bug on during the feature.

When you bonus this game if you are not awarded the top feature you are given the option to gamble in a similar fashion to many blueprint games but with a nice twist, an extra bit of info for the player to make a decision.

On each gamble you are given the % of success of the gamble and value range if you lose.

However on my gamble I was given a range of £8 - £16 so based on that I decided that if i was to lose the gamble it wouldn't be so bad, so I gambled, unsurprisingly it lost and was awarded £1.40 Technically being owed minimum of £6.60

I reported this bug without details here in another thread and a @Team.Videoslots rep took the details in a PM.

After several emails, today the provider replied to the rep and them to me that the round had in fact paid correctly. I wont go into the fine details here but something they said alerted me to what the bug was and the stakes it effected.

Knowing this I had a friend play the game and long story short the game now pays correctly, hence they have now fixed it.

So now I can conclude how and what has happened and this is going to be yet another blow for providers being non transparent.

If you want to get technical then yes the game round did actually pay correctly, it was just a visual bug on the mystery values not displaying correctly, they were not being based on the 20p I was on, so the values I was being shown were not right for that stake and feature.

Now to me its not about the money lets face it £6 odd is 1 minute of bonanza time, its about the principle that clearly pragmatic used my reported info, rectified the bug and completely brushed it under the carpet without so much as a thank you for bringing it to our attention.
Its the fact they decided to go in a completely different direction and pretend that the game was fine all along, the game round had played correctly while not mentioning whatsoever that they had to fix a "slight" visual bug, and making me look like an idiot.

Now to be clear here I have no issue with the way Videoslots has handled this case, they can only go on what the provider has told them, same as any casino but I think pragmatic had the opportunity here to handle this far better. All it needed was player reports bug, Pragmatic acknowledges bug to player, fixes it and thanks player, small gift optional, not basically make it look like there was never a bug. Had I been given the correct values chances are I would not have gambled and possibly won more than £1.40 had I taken the feature.

This is yet another classic case of the grey area that the industry is allowed to frequent on a daily basis.

Given the option below how many would gamble the feature?
Now how many wouldn't gamble with the real min value being 80p ?

Yeah those values should have said 8x and 16x the total bet, or £1.60 and £3.20. A bit slack that the game managed to go live like that but there you go. Probably a very late change that squirmed through testing...

I doubt you were the first person to report something like that given the number of sites that host Pragmatic slots. There are issues with live games all the time. Pragmatic don't deal with players directly because you are not their customer, VS is. And you're the customer of VS.

That's a pretty annoying visual glitch, and I really don't like the degree of separation between players and providers, whereby casinos are kind of just 'resellers' really, as Lemon notes above, you're not Pragmatic's customer.

There was something to be said for the older style 'single shop' casinos, like 32Red used to be with Microgaming back in the day.

I Bandicam all my real money play and have done for a while, so that if any fuckery occurs I'll have it caught on camera.

Has anyone managed to win anything substantial in this slot? I've managed to hit all of the features, and the final, "End of the line" bonus, was absolutely horrible in my case atleast.

I did a chunk of spins on it in demo play as my interest was piqued by this thread, after gambling every single feature like a mad bastard I finally managed to get the top feature and it paid 54x.

I also noted that nowhere in the rules does it state what the optimal strategy is when it comes to gambling features, which is a big no-no for me.

Yeah I can’t be the only one who just doesn’t see the potential in this slot. I like pragmatics and always play their new additions too, but this one won’t become a regular for me atleast

Sounds like Pragmatic could have handled this better. However personally, I think you are letting Videoslots of the hook too easy here. You are a Videoslots customer and have a contract with Videoslots, not Pragmatic, and Videoslots makes most of the money on your losses. So if they wanted to provide a good customer service, they could just have compensated you. As you say, £6 would not have killed you or them, but if they gave you the £6, how much happier would you have been? This is just another example of casinos not caring about their customers IMO.
