I cannot post the link due to the ads placement. So I copied text and paste it here. If you need link please pm instead, I am not allow to advertise for reason. Well this came up on facebook tonight as a suggestion site and had a read, was disgusted to find out why is this happening. I want to figure out if some of them are true in fact. Moderator may know about this. This is interesting article though. The reason is that is a DIRTY BUSINESS and we don't like it pretty much. This looks rather evil!

Here are the article I copied and pasted here starts below:

Play DoubleDown on Facebook? Ever think of how much money you could have won had you been playing for real? Of course you have — because you're an intelligent human being! Here's the thing, the makers of DoubleDown, a company called IGT (or Interactive Gaming Technology) are really hoping that you don't ask yourself this question. Here's why:
1. Social Games = DoubleDown MAKES Money, NOT YOU

Social games like those offered by DoubleDown Casino are great for the casino gaming company but not so great for the player. While they're certainly lots of fun, social games - unlike real money games - will never pay you real cash. When you play at a real money casino, it's not just about the fun. You get to have the same amount of fun AND you get to earn cold hard cash.

Bottom Line: DoubleDown casino costs you money but they never have to PAY OUT! Great for them but not so great for you...
2. IGT Pays Out REAL MONEY Jackpots

IGT is the company that owns DoubleDown Casino. They also operate over 50 real money casinos online. On top of that, they also are the biggest suppliers of poker machines at land-based casinos around the world.

IGT doesn't want to have to pay you real money — that's why they're really happy when you play for fun at DoubleDown Casino. But here's what you might not know: IGT owns both social "fun" casino games and real money casino games. IGT pays out HUGE jackpots on their real-money games.

Here are a few they recently paid out at their real money casino brands:

IGT MASSIVE PAYOUTS

January 2014: $2,719,166.00 MegaJackpots Progressive Game
Won by lucky US online casino player!

January 2014: £1,059,026 Tiki Temple 20p Jackpot
Won by lucky UK online casino player!

June 2014: $1,094,560.56 "Wheel of Fortune" MegaJackpots Game
Won by Florida Resident at the Bellagio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Bottom Line: Real people are earning millions from DoubleDown company IGT while DoubleDown Casino players aren't earning a penny! Not so fair...

3. IGT's Real Money Pokies have GREAT ODDS

DoubleDown Casino is not a real money casino. That means you'll never be able to earn real money. The same company that makes DoubleDown Casino makes some of the best online real-money pokies with the highest payout rates.

Here are DoubleDown-maker IGT online casino games that pay out the most:

Texas Tea Slot - Certified payout rate of 97.35%
Enchanted Unicorn Slot - Certified payout rate of 96.02%
Cluedo Slot - Certified payout rate of 96%
Monopoly In The Money Slot - Certified payout rate of 96.78%
Da Vinci Diamonds - Certified payout rate of 95.27%
Vegas Baby Slot - Certified payout rate of 95.27%

Let's put that in perspective for a moment...
DoubleDown Social Casino - 00.00% payout rate!!!

Bottom Line: DoubleDown Casino company IGT has FANTASTIC payout rates at their real-money online casino pokies but they don't pay out a penny on social DoubleDown Casino games.
DoubleDown Casino doesn't want you to know that you can play the same great games and make REAL MONEY.

✓ Stop spending money when you can't make any back in return!

✓ Stop donating your hard earned cash to IGT DoubleDown Casino when you can play at an IGT casino that actually PAYS OUT YOUR WINNINGS!

✓ Play smart and opt for real money online casinos that will not only take your money but also pay you what you earn when you beat the house!

Read that a couple of times to try and understand correctly.

If I am reading right its about fact you can play the games on facebook and never be able to win money.

Really do not see what is wrong with this as lots of casinos have games on facebook that people can play and never win real money and people know to win they have to play at a real casino.

Sorry if I have misunderstood what the point really is.

Still it is illegal for any Aussie living in Australia country to play for fun on facebook or on casino website and real online casino for these parts of IGT, Aristocrat, Konami, Ainsworth, etc who is already available at land based casino and some pub (hotel). I am baffled how they did dare to bypass around and allows Aussie to play through it when I was told by Aristocrat, IGT and others that it is NOT allowed by their official casino policy. DoubleDown casino did not adhere to the strict policy.

Also it SHOULD be AGAINST the law for the slots for fun to be tweaked to very low payout rate prompt them to buy more credit to play more if they run out sooner on the Facebook. It is not funny. They are designed to rip people off. When they win big on facebook they don't get a single penny, it is just waste of time and rip off. This is only for fun of course but why tweaking lower RTP? That is something that Facebook really should look into it!

I hope that someone should take a swift action against them and have them removed off the Facebook ASAP and banning Aussie from playing some of slots online that is already available at land based casino and pub. That needs to be done urgently!

Okay thanks for explaining the bit about Australian players as I was wondering why It was wrong to play games on facebook.

Think theres also sites on facebook where people from USA an alsoplay games on facebook they would never be able to play at real casinos as well.

Yeah I think its pretty much a big loophole in the legalislation for the online casino usually Facebook sadly. Most of it gets overlooked and miss the opportunity to stop them and say this is not allowed. It is also to do with jurdisction as well. Every country have their own laws. But official company from IGT, Aristocrat, etc KNOWS too well what the rules are. I just SIMPLY don't understand why they still bypass around it and allow to let it happen!

The first post looks like an advertisement for an on-line casino that offers IGT games and others.

Is your complaint that Facebook are advertising something to you that you cannot play?

Or, is this ad from a casino that is skirting Aussie Laws and allowing Australians to play games that have been banned by IGT from your jurisdiction?

How can you know that the payout rates in 'fun play' on facebook are different than what they would be in real money play elsewhere?

Who is the 'they' you speak of, in other words, who do you think should be doing something about this. IGT? Facebook? Your Government?

Sorry if I am missing something here but I see advertisements every day for things I don't agree with and never considered it to be that big of a deal.

Yeah they did advertise for some reason. I am just trying to find that some of fact remains for the DoubleDown Casino regarding to a big profit they have made on Facebook. Australia do in fact banned from playing IGT, Aristocrat, Konami, Ainsworth, WMS online both in fun and real. It is sad that some people do have no idea what they are really doing with their real money on Facebook when playing game and in return no money return to them. I just wish that it should be illegal on Facebook. Fun mode should remain free, no pay fill up credit thats about it. I dunno if it is possible for some to fight against Facebook and lobby them to remove all casino off Facebook all together or force them to remain free only with no pay to fill up credit or so like only get free credit every 4 hours or so. I think it gonna be a hard one yes.

That's how all social games work in a nutshell.
Don't see the point why it would be different for casino games.
I still play the free Jackpot Party Facebook app with WMS games.
Sure I cannot win real money but I also don't have to wager REAL money,so I have no problem whatsoever with that.
I can play slots for free when my real money bankroll is low and that is great.

Facebook answers to the laws in America, which is how they get away with it. However, some of the biggest American companies have been reigned in by the EU courts. Google, for example, lost a case regarding an EU "right to be forgotten" which does not exist in America. Google tried to claim it didn't apply to them as they were a US company bound by US laws, but the EU court said they WERE covered by EU laws when they were making their service available to EU citizens. Microsoft also fell foul of the EU. Facebook has also been in the EU firing line over privacy issues, so it's more likely they are getting away with it "for now".

The social games can actually backfire, because they are the SAME as the games you will find when playing for real at an online casino, and this will be obvious to any player who moves to real money play from Facebook. The backfire is that the social games have their payouts regularly changed, often with a bold "enhanced payouts this week in the pearl room", a room full of MICROGAMING games in a different social casinos. This means that players have just been told that Microgaming slots can have their payouts tweaked up & down as a marketing tool, so when they play for real, they will believe that a bad session is down to them playing at a time when the payouts have been reduced. They will also believe the conspiracy theorists who peddle "systems" to beat the games, or post "proof" of RTP manipulation.

It's ClickFun who have all the Microgaming games, but they have TWICE introduced additional bonus rounds into the games, and also messed around with the RTP, paylines, and payouts for sets of symbols. The impression is one of Microgaming slots being as operator configurable as the fruit machine down the pub. This idea flies in the face of what real play Microgaming is all about, where players are led to believe and trust that no matter where and when the games are played, the RTP is set in stone by Microgaming on the day of release, and there is nothing the operator can do to change RTP in order to control profit and loss.

Quite a few users of ClickFun have grown wise to the ridiculous idea that one actually BUYS extra coins, and so only play the regular issues of free coins, and raise a big fuss when something goes wrong with the free coins because they sure as hell aren't going to buy any coins for a game that can never pay out in real money.

Sorry, I don't get it.

Seems like, you don't like slot machines. That's fine.

But many of us do. And most of us know the difference between real money play and play money play. When you buy play chips on Double Down, you can't cash them out, and they make that clear.

Install Gamblock or something on your computer. Problem solved.

I played the Double Down casino on Facebook a bit in the past. But I quit when I realized I'm just wasting my time if no real money is going to be paid out. Just a life waster to me. There are better things to do.

Well let's make a few points here about games like Double Down...

First we shall cover the negatives I suppose, just to get it out of the way

*Sure yes they right after you loose your coins offer with a pop up to buy more coins right away so you can continue your "fun" with their games. Which for some folks I'm sure buying 99,000,000 coins to play with bets that they could only dream of. Could be fun. Especially if your the true bargain better at the casino and would never dream of going above a 50 cent bet. Which brings me to my next point...

*Sure you can't cash out these coins, but they make it pretty clear that's for fun play anyways. If you really think even for a second that off of something they gave to you for nothing or you bought in for as low as $3 and could cash out $200,000 plus dollars. You've really gone down the wrong thought process. Plus yes I'll agree while on this same point that same $3 could go towards a real online slot and win real money. For some folks the $3 they put into Double Down could be the best $3 worth of entertainment they've had all day.

*Sure any facebook game is about greed, that's why they were created, not even just Double Down. Candy Crush was made this way, along with Farmville, Chefs Ville, Solitare Blitz, and the list could go on. There is big money to be made in social network games. Especially if you offer the right premium items or enough incentive to buy more whatever it is your buying.

For the pros:

There really isn't a horrible huge pro, to any game like Double Down other than for some it purely for the entertainment value. Plus some may not want to jump thru all of the hoops to game online. Some people just like playing casino games for fun, and not really care if they cash out. I for one enjoy playing some of the familiar titles at home with my free money I get every day.

Yes each Facebook game is required to give you a free play daily. So even if you don't want to pay into the pot. You can always play for free. If you loose just ignore the plea for your money and click out of the screen. That simple really.

Personally I wouldn't pay money to play at a fun play casino, but a lot of people enjoy it - for them it's not about making money, but to kill time or to challenge their friends or whatever.

I think the 'article' the OP posted is just an affiliate who's bending the entertainment factor of the Facebook thing into a "OMG what a scam look how much money you could make if you played for real" with convenient links to casinos where you can do just that.

Facebook didn't allow real money gambling (for anyone, anywhere) so social gaming apps sprouted up. IGT have one, WMS have one - there are shedloads out there. They all work the same way afaik: you get some free credits, you can't win any money - it's just for fun - when you run out, if you want to, you can buy more credits. I don't get it myself but they are very popular, probably more in countries where real-money gambling isn't an option.

I am a bit confused by the OP though: how is DoubleDown different to all the other Facebook apps? Is the point that the payout ratios are lower? And if so, if you don't enjoy it, you wouldn't buy any more credits would you?

Social games like those offered by DoubleDown Casino are great for the casino gaming company but not so great for the player. While they're certainly lots of fun, social games - unlike real money games - will never pay you real cash

It's made perfectly clear when you sign up that this is how social gaming works. Unless things have changed on FB recently, that's how all Facebook social gaming apps work.

I gathered that the OP was more dismayed that an affiliate is advertising something he cannot play in a jurisdiction where the games advertised are not offered. It always bothered me that 888 would spam me, here in the US, with all these great game titles that I could not play even way after the axe fell here.

I play at some of the ones stated in the other posts but only with the free fake monies and never spend any of my own , hell if I was gonna do that I would play at a real online casino I trust.

I do it for fun but will say that the worst part of playing games on F/B are the game requests sent out . if another friend sends me one of those Pudding Pop ones or Candy Crush , I will have a freaking hissy fit , it really pisses me off to no end when you post and ask nicely and boom there 20 plus more requests.

This is what is sad is people spending money on tokens for these games and will not win a dime in real but could easily take that money and play it say at Club World , ect , this is why and maybe it is wrong of me but I will put a casinos link on these comment sections for the liked pages of these F/B casino games and tell them if they really want a chance and to have some fun , check this out !

My sister plays and will spend money on there for fun once in awhile and her bank has no trouble with her playing and paying for F/B tokens , so whats the deal , it is gaming if it is in a gray area ?

... a lot of people enjoy it - for them it's not about making money, but to kill time or to challenge their friends or whatever.

These ^ are pretty-much it in a nutshell.

Even in the MGM group casinos in Vegas (Bellagio, Aria, MGM, Mandalay Bay, Mirage to name but a few) they are promoting the 'MyVegas' social casino. As with DoubleDown, players can get free chips at set time intervals, and should they so desire, they can buy some additional chips for cash. With MyVegas, the more you play, the more points you earn & these can be redeemed against a wide range of comps at the MGM Group casino's (ranging from free merchandise, to free rooms. (It will typically work out more expensive to earn a free room through your play than it would be to pay for the it with cash, but if people have fun playing them then why not let them?)).

In a past role, I have worked with some content providers to social platforms & it is worth noting that there are rules surrounding the provision of games within certain countries. One of the major ones is that providers of these games must make them available to all (age) eligible players, regardless of their financial status... Prince or pauper, millionaire or minion, as long as you're old enough, you must be able to play and this is why they have timed issues / supplies of free gaming chips / tokens that every registered player can receive. There must also be no restriction of how the aforementioned points can be used (i.e. points earned as a result of play with purchased chips / tokens have the same value as points earned through play with the free chips / tokens. VIP whale who spends $100 a day or low-rolling grandma who only plays with free chips, your points have the same value & you earn the same rewards at the same rate and redeem them at equal cost.

These social platforms also provide game developers with extensive information into player habits and demographics. When their slots are played in land-based casino, players don't always have a players card so there's no information on gender, age, how many games the player has played, how much the player wagers, etc. By putting their slots in the social environment, they are effectively providing a huge field-test & can track who does what, where and when. These results can help them with their development of new games, as well as assisting their land based customers in targeted marketing campaigns.

(I will caveat the above by stating it has been ~12months since I did anything directly in this field & I haven't studied the latest do's and don'ts. I dare say there have been ongoing refinements, but based upon the presence of land-based real money slots on these social platforms, combined with the dim view some countries take on real money gambling, I'm certain the companies that provide games for both environments (in the case of DoubleDown, it would be IGT) aren't going to risk their land-based revenues and licenses by doing anything untoward on the much smaller income channel / social side).

Yeah most of us should only stick to free money every time interval is best way for time being. That way we are not wasting out of money. I agreed with some of your comments. Most of games I bought are off Steam or Bigfish thats about it though yes. For real casino I use the money for the artificial casino like on Facebook I rather have time interval.

This article may be sprucing some truths but lets be honest here. This is a fluff piece by an affiliate, the whole article (find the original) is littered with links to a casino.

The same people write a ton of articles of why not to play at Double Down etc and even one to say someone won big because they quit playing Double Down and started playing for real :what:

A snippet.

John never dreamed of hitting a mega casino jackpot, but he did, and now there’s an extra $473,294.22 in his bank account. “I normally played at DoubleDown, Slotomania or Zynga social casino games every day, just for fun.

We have reached out to the Europa team to comment and they said they could not confirm John’s jackpot amount, they did leave us with the following quote:

All they are doing is using the names of some of the bigger social games for some SEO hits to get people to go and play for real to make the AFFILIATE real money, bit hypocritical me thinks.

That same site also has a "Quick get your LIMITED TIME EXCLUSIVE 200% first deposit bonus at LeoVegas" page. "MARY J. could not believe it when she won $15,824.56 playing 'Sweet Party'. By simply following the 5 basic Poker Machine Strategies..." hmmm

Funny I just went to Leo Vegas and whaddya know - they have a 200% first deposit bonus for everyone.

The casino is pretty much a micropayments game, like that simpsons game

nothing wrong with that, if clueless people want to waste their money, they are free to do so
