Hi,

I wanted to withdraw @ Pokerstars.
The last time it was instant to neteller!
Now I get the message:
"Your withdrawal request has not beeen processed.
Inorder to protect against collusion and fraud a 48 hour dealy is imposed on withdrawals from players last deposits. Please resubmit your request once this time frame has expired."

Is this normal?
I had thought, wow, for once a casino that pays as fast as one deposists.

So why was it instant the last time and now 2 days delay?

This is totally normal and common. Sites don't want you depositing and quickly withdrawing for a few reasons. Here are a couple of the big ones:

1) Costs: It costs Stars probably 5-10% roundtrip to process your neteller transactions. They probably have a stellar deal so it may be on the lower end of that scale. Still, that's nothing to sneeze at. They want depositing players to play, not to snipe a couple games and then leave. Clogging up their payment channels and increasing their processing costs.
2) Cheating protection: Often scans are done on accounts to make sure they do not set off any of the cheating algos. These sometimes take time to process and your account itself could have triggered something that made them run a deeper scan, thus, the hold.

I wouldn't worry about it. Just submit when the timer is up and you should be fine.

yep, this is standard. Pokerstars is a primarily a poker room and therefor most poker players dont deposit/withdraw on a daily basis.

Has been 48h as long as I can remember, mostly to prevent chip dumping. And withdrawals are only instant up to the deposited amount, though they aren't that slow after that either unless you are investigated. That's usually if you play higher than normal and/or a bit differently. Usually doesn't take long and sometimes they may ask some questions about the change in gamestyle etc.

I was once myself "investigated" but it didn't take long and they didn't ask anything and only found out after I asked why my withdrawal was taking some time.

You can also set your account so that you can never reverse.

Not nearly that high. Standard Neteller deposit fee used to be either 2,9% or 3,9% (can't remember) and withdrawals were always cheaper and if under the deposited amount free as Neteller wanted the money "back" to be deposited again.

It depends on what site we're talking about I suppose. PokerStars obviously has great rates. As does 888, PartyPoker, and other huge sites with lots of traffic. Medium to smaller sized sites and especially those that serve US players however, like Winning Poker Network, Chico Network, etc all have costs in the range I posted. In fact, the US sites sometimes have to pay up to 15% round trip on eWallet funds due to all the hoops they have to jump through to fund players.
