Crystal Gaming group has announced plans to list on London's Alternative Investment Market (AIM) on 25 November 2005. For the past several weeks the forthcoming IPO, originally estimated at GBP 140 million has been the subject of intense speculation regarding a date and valuation.

My opinion:
Oh yeah lets make the guy has stolen money from people for many years by running somewhat shady casinos a millionaire.. Yeehaa... This world is so WRONG...

The good point in this is , that maybe mr oliver curran has to work as a honest operator from this point on. A listed company cant rip of people.

try explaining that to pensioners who were ripped off for billions and now live in poverty because robert maxwell decided to raid their pension funds in order to boost his company's share price.

The mirror group was a FTSE100 listed company, so if it can happen here it can certainly happen on the AIM listings.

share flotation cancelled

Just in case no one had noticed, see the final paragraph of this link reporting on empire/party isssues:

I see you've been taken off double-secret probation Mr 'russo
Welcome back.

Looks like all Mr Clouds hanky panky over the years has just cost him $50 million dollars.
Can't say I'm saddened by this. :)

Crystal Gaming has scrapped a planned £140m float. The company was due to list last Friday but that will now not happen until the new year — if at all. “We’re looking at the strategic options available,” said a source close to the company.

regards Caruso-glad the news cheered you!

It would be interesting to know a little more-as I said the searches dont bring up too much.

Perhaps seymoure-pierce read some of the fruitier threads on here lol !

I would also like more details, although I suppose since it's off, they can reasonably claim it's a non-issue.

I've now contacted SeymourPierce twice: I emailed two of the analysts with a handful of salient, corroborated and screenshot-proven facts two months or so ago when this matter emerged - and received no reply from either person. Today, I phoned up to ask if there was any publically airable information regarding the failure. I was put through to various people, the last one of whom took my number so that the person handling "Crystal", as she called it, could get back to me with whatever they'd be at liberty to pass on. As yet, nada on this score either.

I'm starting to feel ignored.

Any of you who are interested might do worse than to give them a ring and see if they'll be more forthcoming to someone else:

Welcome back.
Thanks, Eek. Question for you: the fellow who was to take over as CEO was Vivian Imerman, chairman of Glaswegian whisky producers Whyte & MacKay. If I recall correctly, you are partial to the odd dram yourself, so: had this gone ahead, how would it have affected your enjoyment of the Amber Nectar, if at all?

:)

I don't mean to rain on anyone's parade, but the IPO has merely been postponed - not cancelled. It's still probably going to happen, but not for a little while.

Cancelled, postponed, whatever...

I *still* want to see Caruso running naked up and down his street :)

... cone to think of it, maybe we can get Golden Palace to sponsor him? :D

?

I expect Mr Cloud will still get his float. IPO's are often pulled if market sentiment towards the sector involved looks hostile in any way. This is to ensure the float does not fail, which would be a huge embarrasement to Seymore Pierce, and Crystal Gaming (if they are bothered). It will also hurt the reputation of SP, and their expertise is in the IPO industry. Underwriters of the issue will be left holding the unallocated shares, which will cost them, and make them wary of underwriting further issues.
I would expect a Spring or Autumn attempt to breathe life back into this float, as the market often winds down in the Summer months. Market Proverb "Sell in May and go away".
If Mr Cloud hands over the role of CEO, and even leaves the board, his past behaviour will not be a big issue - it will be the performance of the management at the time of the float that will be analysed by the financial press. All it takes is a financial writer to have had a keen personal interest in gambling online themselves though..............

Crystal Palace finds its way into the world of sportsbetting chat. Subject? The famous emails. Apparently, hitting "unsubscribe" isn't working.

A while back I thought these emails had stopped - I wasn't getting them any more. Then, they came back with a vengeance. Current format is $90,000 bonuses per day, four or five days a week. Truly, I have never seen anything like it.

:eek2:

Why am I not on this mailing list, I want a part of it?

Then again I have more chance of cashing out real money winnings from one of my many GUEST Casino Accounts than from one of Mr Cloud's casinos, offering these fantabulous bonuses. :D
