To me, personally, if the truckers rolled through, stopped, organized a peaceful protest, hit the next community, etc, rolled home. Fantastic.
'We arent leaving until we get what we want, and in doing so, we will shut down the city infrastructure and impede the daily running of the city, both sides of the border', not so much.

I mean, if we shooting down people in the streets and dragging them off to windowless cells, and the population stood up, ok, a different kettle of fish.

Again, we're talking about a small, small portion of outlyers

But Dio, I mentioned freedom of speech, it was you who said that freedom of speech should be allowed if you want to live in a cave, doesn't consider the whole of society, is indecent and creates platforms for hate. All very different to what I would call freedom of speech.

I'm saying, like those because of constitutuinal rights, be it guns or speech, take it to mean ABSOLUTE.; I can tell you daily, I come across enough who dont even understand their own legally understood version of freedom of speech.
I'm not suggesting YOU think all words are appropriate. There are those as DO.

Anyway, no matter how you slice it, it is a politicized debate....not even because people within one country views things differently, but also, different COUNTRIES due to culture, history or mind-set view things differently.
I can tell you, how it's played out in the media (and viewd) in Canada, the states and the UK is quite different.

As to their effect, whilst disruptive, Canada's rather a big place, I'm not versed in how impactful this all is, other than seeing it as a catalyst for protecting individual rights and yes, freedoms.

Well, I mean, currently, police are standing there, waiting for, and while some, dismantle.
It isnt tear gas and rubber bullets in the streets.
I think it's big news, because it's unique and big news for us.
And dont kid yourself, there's isnt a bandwagon for political parties elsewhere to jump on.

I'm out and about, minimum 4 walks a day with the puppers, chatting neighbours, online, at friends, family, errands...and do you know how often 'convoy' is uttered in conversation? Like...0 times

Granted, in major cities where the trucks roll through, well, yeah, theyre directly impacted.

People are people, sure, stereotypes exist, but having a preconceived idea about people is a barrier to effective communication and influences your opinion and potential outcome of a situation.

Not many speeches send a chill down my spine but that was inspirational. Besides the religious aspect, I pretty much agree with all that she is saying.

What she said about not teaching kids to think for themselves kind of rings true. My 8 yr old watches Newsround three days a week at school and I fail to see any benefit other than conditioning them to get sucked into media propaganda. They sit them on Chromebooks with multiple-choice questions that allow you to pick again if you get it wrong - again, I fail to see how that is an effective method of teaching, getting things wrong is how we learn.

I agree we are in a war and I wish I knew enough about UK law to know an angle to take to fight the oppression. Love what she said about 'each one, reach one, teach one'.

Also agree we cannot take this lying down. It's a shame that so many of us seem content in a fractured society.

Just saw from Dio's post in the WTF thread, New Zealand reported just 53 virus deaths among its population of 5 million from the pandemic. More probably died from car accidents over the last two years. yet they want to impose vaccine mandates, what a joke.

Good to hear some more freedom convoys being inspired by that insignificant and unimportant convoy in Canada also

Whilst Trudeau is indeed a dickwad it lessens the actual atrocities of Hitler, as would calling everyone racist based on others' not agreeing with one's viewpoint. So instead of using their platform to throw complete nonsense out there for validation, I think Trudeau doesn't actually need anyone to call him a tinpot dictator, he's already digging himself a hole leading into political cancellation.
