See the police are starting to enforce the lockdown now, what annoys me about this is how they do it. I don't think I need to tell anyone I am in favour of the lockdown, and enforcement, but a daily mail story is in the link below showing who they are targeting.
I know the mail will have cherry picked cases, but everyone who is getting fined/arrested seem to be middle aged men and women, for crimes such as sitting down on a bench at the beach. Or those 2 women who were fined for driving 7 miles to go for a walk, and told cos they had called into starbucks on the way for a coffee, it was classed as a picnic.
Where are the stories about the parties being broken up and everyone fined? Younger people who clearly (if around here is anything to go by) take no notice of the rules.
I know 3 people who are 19-20 and all of them went to parties at New Year, different ones. All the parties had 20-30 people there, not one knock on the door from the police, and I haven't heard any anyone getting a visit up here either.
I can go to at least 7 locations in Sunderland where, at around 8p-11pm (and later) I will find groups of 20-30 kids sitting round, drinking cans, vodka etc. The police know they are there, they have been the usual spots for years, but they are out of sight, and just leave them as long as they don't get complaints and there's no trouble. Why aren't they getting £200 fines, if old ladies are getting them for sitting on a bench.
