Pretty shocking figures coming out of Italy, 1200 new cases in the last day and 233 deaths in total,
Seems the virus is beyond control there, hope we can do better but think its going to have run its course.

Only, well I say only, 44 new cases in China on saturday. The case fatality rate in China (3.84%) is now lower than in Italy (3.96%). I really hope Italy gets this under control

There is one semi interesting point regarding Trump and his re-election campaign, I think last year experts forecast that a recession would arrive before the 2020 vote and that would be the only thing that could prevent him winning again, until this virus came a recession didn't look like it was going to happen in 2020; add in the fact trump has been in dispute with the chinese, and the story of the bio lab in wuhan...
I think it is purely coincidental but it wouldn't surprise me to see that theory circulate that the chinese lab created the virus, to set off a recession and help the democrats beat Trump.
It might have an effect on the staging of political rallies too, especially inside door events.

Jesus - make your own for 20p a litre. Simply get a squeezy bottle say 500ml, 50ml washing-up liquid and 25ml thick bleach. Pour hot water in, put lid on, shake the bastard up and let bubbles settle. You are then the proud owner of a 100% effective antibacterial handwash soap. If you like pot pourri simply chuck a few drops of incense oil in it too. Remember - ALL disinfectants like Dettol and these handsoaps simply use bleach in one form or another, disguised with scents and very diluted.

Well I suppose it comes down to whether one wants to argue the finer details of a heavy flu vs a Coronavirus; both will leave you bed-ridden and unable to do much of anything. With a generous dose of discomfort throughout.
Even my "I'm sure I caught this on the bus" 5-day cold/ fly hybrid had very distinctive stages, so these things are vicious, no matter what.
Only discernible difference I'm seeing initially with Corona is how it lays low for days before really going full-gun
