If proven isn't that manslaughter?

They would have to prove the spit caused the disease. Not that I would want to hear this, especially if I were the family, but I would be fairly confident of getting a not guilty verdict for my client if I was representing the 'spitter'
She was in a high risk job, she could have caught it anywhere, however likely it seems to us, it isn't provable I would think.

Yes, if its true and proven that is at the least manslaughter, though it could be murder - I think that there have been a few cases where people with HIV/AIDS have knowingly infected others and have been given life imprisonments.

No way it will ever be murder, unless they have him on video shouting 'i'm gonna kill you' then spitting within seconds. Even then they have to prove, beyond reasonable doubt she caught it from them.

What do you say we bury the hatchet @ladyhawke
Maybe we can find a common enemy to fight instead?

Awwww....can't get any cuter than that!

In an effort to soften its image and entice new recruits, ISIS posted pictures of some of its fighters playing with kittens. Not puppies and kittens. Just kittens. Vicious little kittens. Dangerous little kittens. Kittens you would definitely cross the road to avoid.

Hmmm...just might have to start thinking about changing my allegiance to something less threatening, like .... puppies.

BUT...then you get... Zombie puppies...arrrrrgh!

(Although the GSD that played 'Sam' in 'I am Legend" is now 14, apparently living 'the best life', and is totally zombie free. Phew. So there is a cure after all.)

But I digress. And also agree. Here's to a peaceful ending to the Doggie Wars (enlivened by guest appearances by those pesky Kitties).

Australia is starting to relax many of our lockdown restrictions as of Friday at midnight. The Federal government has provided a 'roadmap to recovery', although each state/territory have different approaches as to how to proceed.

However, there are still COVID-19 clusters appearing in each state, with Victoria the latest affected at a Melbourne abattoir, so at the moment an extremely cautious approach is being taken to ensure these clusters remain localised.

Overall though, what this relaxation really amounts to is "business as unusual", as bars, pubs and restaurants are restricted to no more than 10 patrons, which is deemed uneconomical for many of these businesses to even consider re-opening, or even changing their current way of working, namely take-away service only.

As for other businesses, the government has suggested that if working remotely is not feasible, staggered starts and flexible working arrangements should be considered, in order to prevent the virus from gaining another foothold in the community.

Because... "The bottom line is that all measures taken will be for the foreseeable future, as we don't know how long we are going to be living with COVID-19".

A perfectly fair point. And I mostly agree with what paul said.
I merely disagree with him on what the charge should be.

Never said what i thought the charge would be.

Merely stated that the way the law works in this country all he could get charged with is assault for the actual spitting.

Same as the ones that spat at police. All they can get is an assault charge. Be way too complicated to try and charge someone for manslaughter when it is a virus she could have had from anywhere and proving she got it from him would be impossible.

Sure its ok, he's rich & famous, lockdown doesnt apply to him.
I wish for once the authorities in Scotland would make an example of someone like this who is flaunting the lockdown and broadcasting the fact that he doesnt give a f**k.

As much as i may be tempted the thought lingers that in the future his child may ask 'what did you do during the great pandemic lockdown Daddy?'.

'I ran off to self isolate leaving you with your Mum' just doesnt sit right.

And now the latest news is 12 McDonald's stores across Victoria is being closed because a truck driver that has delivered to these stores has been tested positive to Covid-19 :eek2:

I was thinking to myself about the enormous amount of money that people in England spend on fast food and eating out in general and whether not being able to do so will have made people realise it’s not a necessity.

I enjoy both and can certainly overindulge at times but since I haven’t been able to do so I have managed perfectly well without and also noticed the extra cash I have spare.

I wonder how many families will realise how much money they have saved and will also have got out of the habit as it were. There is also the flip side where because people haven’t been able to go out for meals, when restrictions are lifted it will be the in thing I suppose.

Well they opened up the KFC drive throughs up here last week.

And remember we are still meant to be on lockdown in Scotland and only allowed to travel for essential things and exercise locally.

Well you ought to see the amount of cars queuing at my local KFC anytime i pass it. So think that answers the question. People still think it is a necessity lol.

Haven't eat anything (ok, breakfast and some sandwiches and snacks there and then) but delivery food for while.... It probably have effect that having endless list of places to deliver here and they are maybe too cheap here... Probably spending around same than would cook something just to myself... Actually not much changed as used to eat out anyway when restaurants were open.

This week some restaurants should open here with some restrictions of course. Same what @snorky510238 , spending much less money than in "normal" time, probably mostly because of closed pubs and restaurants,

Have Mr Gates and vaccine fans seen video made from Dr Judy Milkovits? It gets removed from social medias, not sure where it would be available atm, but feels bit like Evolution thread here, can be true or now, we never know :)

At least it made made loads of papers and medic peeps to react and call her fake, if you check google results with her name and vaccine vide:

So is this just attempt to close her mouth or she is just wrong or/and promotion later movie/document coming later? Here she's called to be wrong and some parts from her interview (think there's link to site she is connected and her video available there):

Sorry if i have missed this be posted earlier already, just ignore them. Can't be possible that this sort of theory is not brought in here with all smoke around topic :)

No doubt there will be posters who will say that this is an alternative view, and that some of things she says make sense and appeal to them, but the reality is she is an attention seeker whose theories have been proven as being groundless.
People like her are a real danger because there are too many people who are trying to look beyond the facts to see some conspiracy and she fans the flames of some of the conspiracies out there.

Over here, food companies are sharing some of their favourite recipes (KFC, Arnotts, etc), while top flight Chefs are doing the same with short, 5 min videos on TV every night, as more and more people are beginning to home cook, possibly for the first time in their lives.

Will this phenomenon last?

Due to lock-down, people are restricted to a home environment, many without a job to distract them, and so are using this unprecedented amount of free time to indulge in pastimes they would never have previously considered, such as home cooking.

However, when normal life resumes, it is more than likely people will once again revert to being time poor - longer working hours, longer commutes, taking their children to a myriad of activities after school, etc. All the reasons for the proliferation of fast food/ready meals/restaurants in the first place.

Probably not many considering what happened when burger king re-opened

The day McD's closed, my local one, which regularly has a 15 minute queue, had the biggest I've ever seen about 3pm. Going from where the queue is with a 15 minute wait, those about the back would be waiting for at least 90 minutes. The queue was out the car park, up a road, along a main road, round the roundabout then down another main road, all them sitting in the bus lane.

I like a McD's every once in a while, but why someone would queue 90 minutes + for one is totally beyond me. If I see 10 cars waiting, I drive past!

In Malta food restaurants, barbers/hairdressers can open their doors on Friday. Bars (assume alcohol only places, not sure how exactly gonna categorize these how can be open or not but would have been surprised if here something would have been clearly organized since publishing something).

That was announced yesterday, today in papers seem that some doctors were upset as they were not consulted and want to get their voice heard: "In a statement, the Medical Association of Malta (MAM) said it will be asking for urgent meetings with management. "

Not expecting anything crazy happening, all tourists are missing, many locals have been off from work etc... like everywhere. It's quite easy here to anyone who want to avoid all human contacts, so i don't mind if people can choose if they wanna eat out after two months break. Would let outside bars to be open as well for them to use who want.

Getting numbers to 0 would take with any kind of lockdown quite a bit time and then after all it would be easy to find somebody still having it and spreading it so for me ok to people do what they want. Everybody have been quite well informed what is Corona and COVID19 to choose which risk level they want to apply to their lives, it's always option to stay home until Christmas or how long ever it feels comfortable.

From a newspaper in the Southern province of Limburg:

A GP (Mr. Elens) has treated more than 8 corona patients with a mix of medicines whose efficacy has not been demonstrated, must stop doing so. That is what the Health Care and Youth Inspectorate (IGJ) says when asked to do so.

On Wednesday the IGJ spoke to the general practitioner from Meijel and his pharmacist about administering a drug mix to patients with mild complaints who tested positive for corona. If he doesn't comply, a fine will follow.

"The inspectorate thinks this is a bad thing," says a spokeswoman. "The general practitioner and pharmacist are acting contrary to the treatment guidelines. There's still no proven drug that helps against corona. And the way he's now indicating he's experimenting is not according to the guidelines either."

The GP confirms that he has been in contact with the Inspectorate and that the treatment has been forbidden to him. He confirms that he is going to stop now. "I can't help it. It may only be used in the second line. Too bad, but I don't understand", he says.

Mr. Elens so far treated eight patients with a combination of hydroxoychloroquine (often used for rheumatism), zinc and the antibiotic azytromycin. All eight were better after a few days, claims the family doctor.

The combination used by Mr. Elens is used in New York by doctor Vladimir Zelenko, who now reports a 100 percent success score based on seven hundred patients. Zelenko's reports led Elens, in consultation with the pharmacist in his practice, to use the same combination, because he no longer wanted to 'do nothing and only call the ambulance when the patients get sicker'.

The Inspectorate has already indicated that the rheumatic medicine chloroquine/hydroxychloroquine should not be prescribed against contamination with the coronavirus within regular care, according to the spokeswoman. "When chloroquine is not prescribed according to the guidelines, there is a risk of a shortage for the people who really need it".

The Inspectorate points out that there are no preventive drugs or vaccines against the coronavirus yet. For chloroquine, too, there is absolutely no evidence that it has any preventive effect against the coronavirus, the IGJ emphasizes. Moreover, the Inspectorate states, chloroquine is not a medicine to be taken lightly: it is highly toxic when overdosed.

Earlier, the Dutch Society of General Practitioners (NHG) and the GGD Limburg Noord also rejected the Elens approach. "Giving hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin is not recommended, because of the lack of evidence, while cardiac dysrhythmia is reported", says a spokeswoman for the NHG. And the GGD says it 'only supports treatment methods that have been well researched'.

The Meijel family doctor remains hopeful that he can still do something to help tackle the virus himself. "I just got a call from an intensivist about a supplement that would be even better than hydroxychloroquine. That could be taken together with zinc."

Got email to get rich today, just to join to some "private investing club" and get option to buy shares from some neverheard UK company who are just moments away from ready corona medicine, not even vaccination but pill....

Some PRO:s of this great invention:

1) It can be delivered to patients through the post (allowing mass deployment, very fast).
2) It is easily self administered (just swallowed like an aspirin).
3) There's no need for any injections (no healthcare professionals at risk).
4) And there are a lot of people who hate injections - no problem here.

Just sending my credit card number and transfer all i just own to them, what can go wrong

edit: should be in telly in a moment:

Thought this sounded like an interesting alternative to a vaccine.

You can bet the UK or States wont go for it though.

Is this not similar to the antibody treatment being trialled in the UK and a few other countries?

Hopefully with all the trials and research into a vaccine going on there may be some good news before the end of year.

Yes it seems they are collecting plasma from recovered patients which tends to be the first place they start with developing treatments.

The Chinese story claims to have had success in mice and claims to be virtually ready.

I couldnt see any juicy details just a collection of plasma, please point out if i missed anything.

Fingers crossed for this one.

Full testing will give a better picture making it easier to tackle.....

I have mixed feelings on this one - will be great if you have the antibodies and can in some way resume a normalish life, but if you havent got them how will that feel.
It could very much be a game changer, particularly if one of the earlier studies, i think it might have been from Oxford or Cambridge, was right in their modelling that by early April at least 50% of the population in the UK had already had the virus and recovered.

Hopefully the worst that will happen is that they will have a better understanding of the situation through widespread testing.

It may also mean not everybody would need a vaccine.

If a large percentage of people have had the virus, recovered and are effectively immune, they could go back to work. That would be for the greater good and tough on the ones who couldnt but then the countrywide focus could be used on them.

Im all for less tinkering with mother nature and the wonderful immune system she has given us.

If messing with science caused this pandemic it might be time to rein things in a bit once we have this under some form of control.

Nice, mtb, road or bmx? Looks like mtb to me. What bike have you got?
these days, an ebike (ya, sounds sad lol), but a Monster Emmo bike

No mate...I love it!

My little boy is crazy over motorbikes. Ive tried everything else but i think its sticking. Id like to try him on a little scrambler in a couple of years maybe.

Doing my bike licence is on my shortlist. I dont want anything too fast as i know i would be tempted so a cruiser or something old school like an old triumph would be nice. Ive even thought about an old side car for the kids which they would love i think.

Hours of fun, enjoy!

Edit: Think i saw those bikes on a bike program with the guy who plays Darryl from The Walking Dead, it looks cool.

it's...the Guardian, so a pinch of salt is a whole mine, but...

Using Hydroxycloroquine "just for fun" like he is doing is really not good anyones health. Especially in his age and bit overweight he's carrying (which gives him higher risk for most of deceases).

Bit of a storm in the UK about Cummings breaking lockdown.
Press did quite well for a change though, leaked a bit, waited for the government to back him, then run another story tonight showing it was worse than initially reported, making everyone who supported him look like complete tossers :)

If its true he made a second trip, Boris has got to act.Cummings has already undermined the government
advice and makes further rules harder to enforce.Millions have been compliant for weeks and that tosser
thinks he is entltled to ignore his own advice.
Been a supporter of Boris all the way but think his leadership skills are waning fast.
