Coincidence?...I think not

I had the misfortune of playing one of the casinos advertised on this site. Out of deference to the Casinomeister I won't mention the name. But I thought what occured would be interesting to all.

I deposited $300 and waited 6 hours for my 'instant bonus'. Being an impatient sort, I waited three hours before I played, sans bonus, and managed to double my money playing BJ. I figured I wasn't getting the bonus or had to ask for it and didn't, so I quit for a time and left my winnings in their bank. When I returned to the casino an hour later, up $300 mind you, my bonus was there. Now I was forced to double check the WR and I saw that BJ was not allowed. So I played JoB at $25 per hand. I lost 10 straight hands. I figured, Hell, I'll try to build it back up playing BJ and come back to JoB. I again built up my holdings to over $600 and went back to fulfill my WR on JoB. I lost 8 straight hands this time (with a couple of JoB). Back to BJ! I repeated this process 6 times before I got sick and tired of playing their game, put it all on one hand, lost and left, never to come back. For the sake of a lousy $80 bonus I not only lost about $1500 in winnings but also my original $300 bet.

The moral of the story for me is, to hell with the bonae, as we say in the latin plural. There is, most definitely, no such thing as a free lunch.

The variance of JoB is huge, the STD of JoB is about 4 times of BJ.
Betting $25 on JoB per hand is like betting $100 per hand on BJ. It's very easy to loose a few thousands when you bet $100 per hand on BJ, don't you think so?
Next time, you can try to bet smaller on JoB, or play other games instead. Games of low variance include war, BJ, baccarate and sic bo. Video pokers or slots have much higher vaiance so it's not for the weak of heart.

Next time, email them and ask them to remove the bonus since you are already WAY ahead of your deposit. Why do you want the bonus? I did this few months ago when I play at Crazy Vegas.

Have a good one!

Boy, that sucks!! Can you say if it was a Microgaming casino? I have found a few that are especially lucrative in playing $25 JoB hands, while others you simply cannot win doing it - you'll never even get one pair. Go figure. (And special thanks to you for your help, Bruno)

Damn these bonuses sometimes!!!! After playing for a while I have learned to be patient. Either wait for the bonus to be added and then play or "like somone said down below" either right them an e-mail or call them up and tell them you don't want the bonus. That's what I would of done. And never put it all on one hand!!! That never works.....These online casino's love when you do that.

later Cool Cat
