Self excluded at PlayOjO today , thought it was a great casino until they bonus blocked me in all but name,
Was limited to what for me was a low daily deposit, and just been losing it every day and ended get no enjoyment
out of playing there and getting no rewards.Thought the best thing to do was quit while I was ahead.
Only accounts left are Mecca and Grosvener which are both under suspension till the safer gambling team get in touch
which will take weeks.I dont care either way now.
Really starting to resent being told how much I can deposit and having to prove to some faceless person that I can afford
it by sending documents which are no ones business but mine and the taxmans, add to that the constant nagging during
play telling me i have been playing for x minutes and lost x , i dont need to know that ,learnt to read the time when I was
5 years old and I only have to look at the balance to see how much i have won or lost.Sick of the whole damn business.
So at the moment I have nowhere to play and no inclination to sign up to any new casino, looks like my gambling
days are finally over.

I'm in a similar situation..only use two casinos now..both brit bookies.
Can't be doing with the Maltese outfits any more, just have a tenner on slots
and a punt on the horses now and then, not that bothered either way tbh.

Spend more time playing Hearthstone, much more entertaining.

I know its little, if any consolation but you are far from alone in this matter.

In fact I don't enjoy the whole setup anywhere near as much as I used to, been playing since 2003, yes that long and apart from seeing new providers pop up with new ideas, other than that it has been pretty much all downhill as far as the industry in general goes IMO.

Remembering the good old days, I'd REALLY look forward to finishing work on a Friday afternoon, knowing I'd have a lovely take-away for tea followed by a 100% deposit match at my once loved 32 Red casino. Good times indeed, sadly which are long over and not coming back!

Not the worst thing you could be doing in all honesty, and I'm not terribly far behind myself!

The landscape's changed beyond recognition, it's become a joyless husk of its former self.

Video games industry's just as plagued, so the fun's ebbing out of that too. Simply put, these industries have watershed past the divide and are now solely interested in rinsing their customers, whilst pretending to provide an end product.

Talk is of how TV ads are to be introduced into video games. Imagine getting to the last boss only to have an E-Harmony ad pop up

I started around 1999 so that was very close to when they opened the first casinos, just played MG,the only
decent games around then.Used to love trying to beat the WR,playing MG pub slots helped there.
Whole thing is just sterile now, thousands of very pretty and clever games all designed to slowly eat your balance, throwing you a crust now and then.

I was a much later arrival to the party than you Jono (2013), but yeah, those were the days.
Easily my favourite times as a slot player.

On the positive side I have had a very lucky run this year so I will be quitting on a high.Been waiting for my
luck to change but didnt expect it to happen how it did.

Well that is at least a crumb of comfort mate.
Better to have a bittersweet ending than just a plain old bitter end.

Shadow I could have written that opening post, its so depressing. Expected to Jump through hoops, expected to provide more financial details than when applying for a mortgage, constantly being reminded by popups that you are a sad little gambler, having deposit limits set like we are 5 years old, assuming that we are all money launderers, snidely lowering RPTs, getting pathetic bonus offers etc etc

Its an awful industry these days, not the casinos fault (Except RPTs)

I did actually stop online slotting a couple of years ago, but during this covid BS its something to do that I enjoy as there was basically F all else to do.

I think the hassle and cr@p are now outweighing the enjoyment, so I am also very near to hanging up my slot finger.

Think the casinos are as much to blame as the UKGC crappy regulations,no one wants them but casinos
are playing it very much to their advantage with quite a few refusing to process withdrawals to force players to
submit SOW info while still allowing deposits which is simply rogue .

On top of the that the way casinos treat players during the SOW process is often disrespectful to say the least
demanding whatever they want with veiled threats of the consequences of not sending it, no other business
would dare treat the customer like that.Mecca has suspended my account 4 times , no warning, no email,
not even a message on screen to contact CS, just unable to log in

Ps just had an very nice email from Mecca saying food is half price at the local bingo hall so perhaps they
do care after all :)

Id still say its down to regulation.
The reason casinos act shitty is because they can.
Its not a business you can trust to act out of interest for the players, so rules need to be in place stopping them from being shitty.

This is what irks me the most

If the UKGC are going to be so insistent on such protocol, they should at least specify in more detail to the casinos how they should proceed with such matters. Leaving players high and dry should not be part of it.

Yeah, some things are down to casinos bad interpretation of the rules, but if the rules are too vague that is bound to happen. Casinos will go overkill as to avoid fines.
Other things like casinos allowing deposits while holding withdrawals hostage etc is just down to them being able to do it.
Give them a finger and theyll take an arm.

Exactly

How hard is it to write guidance stating a player's balance should NOT be held by the operator unless there is strong evidence of fraud on the account?

Me personally I just want to go to a bingo hall with the wife, I stopped going, she kept going, but this covid19 bullshit, has made I don't know I got no gambling problem, it just getting boring, UNLESS VIDEOSLOTS BRINGS DONUTS BACK lmfao.

I managed to reactivate my Mecca and Grosvenor accounts, they were very helpful but I was a bit gobsmacked
at what triggered the suspensions, it was by playing sessions of over 1 hour, nothing to do with deposit
or loss levels, they were fine with them, think its a new requirement from our beloved UKGC to monitor session
times and contact players who play over that time, Guy says they are overwhelmed by the alerts their systens
are generating which is no suprize, almost make you feel sorry for them.
Not quite sure if stopping play at 59 mins, and taking a break before carrying on will prevent those alerts.
Players may be wise to keep an eye on session times, sounds like they are not just there to nag you.
So gambling days not quite finished after all and I still have vip status at Mecca,

I just log out after 50 minutes or so and log back in. Seems to stop it.

Echo most of what’s said here.
Been probs months since a deposit now.

As @Jono777 said come home from the rigs, order something awesome, few beers and a deposit.. great night, no worries..

Now it’s will I get a new sow, will they want a picture of me infront of my house mortgage papers attached or a piss sample?..
is it worth the worry for a so called ‘hobby’ or ‘pastime’ well not anymore... lately my cash has been better spent.

Don’t get me wrong we have good casino’s and great reps, Jan at L and L, LV bet and also thought maja before she left would of made a super rep, also the casinos they represent I don’t believe for a second want to rip us off or do over the top kyc or sow, case of having to and it’s only getting worse.

Is it the fault of the UKGC? Or maybe the casinos had it so good for so long something had to give?... more of the latter I believe.

Sadly how the UKGC have done this is just push players away, many whom played for years, me included.
Will it be a good thing going forward?.. probably in regards to making industry more responsible, for a player not so much.

Over regulate anything and see it collapse, either quickly or slowly, and move to unlicensed and unregulated places. Happens every time, be it alcohol, drugs, gambling, sex services or any other vices.

Playford please never leave CM you are such a brilliant poster!!!

Will say exactly what the guy told me at Mecca, checking you account, the only alerts i can see are session
times of greater that one hour. When they get an alert which requires action they phone you ( have been
phoned at 1 am twice before now, missed both calls unsurprizingly).Shortly after the accounts were suspended, you may get an email shortly after or next day.I was lucky in that I managed to get the phone
number for the safer gambling team, despite being told there was no direct line to them.Without that
you can wait days or even weeks for them to call you and if you miss that you go back into a long queue.
Thats why I was so pissed when it happenned for the 4th time, knowing how long it could take to resolve.
The guy was actually very helpful and sorted everything after asking if i was ok with the time and money
I was spending with them.

As we are moaning, Friday night I was on zoom to my mate both playing slots, he built up a £50 deposit on 21Casino to about £124. He plays at a max bet of 40p, and we were both playing "playboy fortunesScreen Shot 08-04-20 at 10.29 PM.JPG"

All of a sudden it came up, insufficient funds to place bet. Then he slowly realised he must have hit "max bet" (£60) and lost 2 spins without noticing.

My point being, how the hell can the "max bet" button literally be next to the spin button, there isnt even a pixel separating them on this slot. He received no warning or anything.

He was so upset we both ended our session, and I was upset as him.

So why cant the UKGC sort out things like this, ive fallen foul of max bet errors many times and they always hurt!!!
