Can't believe it. Went onto MSN and saw the headline

One of the greatest vocalists ever and frontman for Soundgarden & Audioslave, committed suicide at 52.

He will be sadly missed

Yes, classic music from 1994, Black Hole Sun etc. I still have the CD single and as fresh today as then. An experimental track 'Spoonman', incredible live version of 'Jesus Christ Pose' and the catchy 'My Wave' all tacked on to the title track, like 4 different styles in one EP CD. Always goes onto any MP3 CD's I make up for the car. Badmotorfinger double album has some great tracks too, RIP Chris.

I grew up with his music..
It was the time grunge became very popular in The Netherlands..
I remember I was in college and we were also into the grunge thing..
Only period in my life I actually had long hair to be able to rock hard in the local grunge / rock bar..
Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, Foo Fighters, Rage against the Machine, Korn, Alice in Chains, System of a Down... Oh those were the days...

Indeed I also was shocked by his untimely death.

I grew up close to Seattle with this music too - Soundgarden, Pearl Jam -at that time in my area they were huge bands.

The first time I saw Chris Cornell in concert was at Lollapalooza 1992 (a long time ago). I would love to go to that concert now with that lineup on the main stage.

A few months go I almost got tickets to see him again when Temple of the Dog went on tour. I regret missing that concert now.

That's one hell of a line up! Pearl Jam, have several of their albums 'VS' being my favourite. Ministry, still got that crazy 'Jesus Built My Hot Rod' track somewhere and the 'New World Order' one.

Yes it was. I don't think any of us realized it at the time. Youth is wasted on the young and all that. Here is the full lineup. Odd to think of some of those some highly successful bands relegated to playing the "side stage".
