Hi I signed up to Ridika casino with out reading any of the reviews I deposited over £4000 and had a win of £850 so requested a withdraw 2 weeks later the withdraw was still pending and the help team just kept telling me finance was busy. I then stumbled across the reviews and got worried so I have filed a chargeback with my card provider on the basis ridika charged me for a service I have never received due to letting me deposit but not paying out. Any way I received a message yesterday saying the withdraw has been processed. What do I do arghhhhh do I ask my bank to return the winnings or do I reverse the charge back. I'm really stuck please help

Alas you didn't read the reviews but at least you are aware of their status now. They are one of the operators using the bogus fraud 'licence' 1668/JAZ from Curacao. They are basically one big confidence trick and it won't surprise me if they DO pay your 850 as it is dwarfed by your net losses. Naturally you'll never deposit there again, and NEVER play at any site with 1668/JAZ at the bottom. You know yourself that these clip joints take UK unlicensed deposits.

As for the chargeback, you should contact the card provider and inform them that if and when the 850 is received then the chargeback section 75 complaint is void and you've received the services you paid for. But be honest and keep them informed that they may get that 850 in due course, if so your intent is to cancel the process. Even though it's a scam casino, don't be tempted to receive the 850 AND maintain the chargeback, even though you'd be better off with the whole 4k.

Take a read of this site - it explains, in no uncertain language, what these 1668/JAZ sites are about:

P.S. - I moved the thread and added the 'question :)' title + casino name as firstly the OP is asking for assistance, secondly the threads about these scam sites need prominence - the more readers that are aware, hopefully the less will be suckered in to deposit at them.

Thank you for your reply I will wait for the withdraw to hit my account and then contact my bank regarding the reversal of the charge back. I do wish I could keep the chargeback as from what I read the casino should not accept UK players and the fact they have really held out processing the withdraw has caused me a lot of stress. I will definitely be reading reviews in the future before getting sucked in. I was shocked to see the payments on my bank statement were made to Azerbaijan there website led me to belive Cyprus

No, not surprising for us. Many of the scams originate from that region and use Cyprus as an entry point to the EU. Cyprus has come up numerous times in the past regarding scam casinos. Technically the whole 4k deposit is invalid but alas the card companies know little about gambling and the application of consumer protection and UKGC licensing regarding it. So to them it's black-and-white, like you paying for a TV that's not delivered or something that's defective. Gambling takes some investigation and knowledge and they aren't willing to do the former and have little of the latter.

Now I believe that they weren't going to pay you until you mentioned 'chargeback'. They cost the scammers money, so as they would still be 3150 quid up on you if they pay you, purely as a form of defence against the chargeback which they could then appeal on the grounds they completed their side of the deal.

I have not contacted my bank yet as the withdraw has not yet been received but I have sent Ridika an email just to see what they come back with it goes a little like this "as mentioned I have initiated a chargeback with my bank so I will be returning the withdraw to you once its received. I am a player from the UK and you do not hold a UK gambling licence and should not have accepted me as a player......." just interested to see what they come back with

But if you are a UK player why on earth are you risking playing in scam and rogue casinos for?

There is plenty of trustworthy establishments that you can play at without any issues. I highly recommend Videoslots casino. Also on sketchy ground is people that do chargebacks is someone who should not even be trusted by casinos. So if this is what you always tend to do, then I would guess maybe this is why you can no longer play in the trustworthy casinos because you have been blocked in them? Because you have done chargebacks soo many times. You then get put on blacklists. So legit casinos will just refuse your business. Hence going back to what I said above about you then only being able to play at the scam rogue casinos.

This is not an attack, just some advice to help you out. I am not accusing you of any wrongdoing. But Chargebacks are not a good thing to do. Casinos do not like players that do them. And when players do use them, blacklists are there for this very reason.

But just listen to what dunover said :)

Good Luck.

Hi I have never done a chargeback for anything in my life it was the fact I won and ridika were stalling paying out with ridiculous reasons. I know I am dumb I didn't do any research at all into ridika until after I realised there was a problem with them paying out. Stupid I know plus the site didn't look dodgy they stated they were in Cyprus where as most casinos I use are Malta or Cyprus based. I did not even know chargeback existed until I googled "what can I do if casino won't pay winnings"

It sounds like it.

Give them a break, the person is new to the forum and may not have your superior knowledge.

As for the last trite remark, bear in mind that in Australia which actually makes payment providers prevent unlicensed gambling, chargebacks are automatic in some cases.

Of course, the scam 1668/JAZ scam sites actively cooperate with the accredited sites on here to compile a blacklist or chargebackers.

Nobody likes the process, but it's that or be scammed out of a significant chunk of cash, what else do you suggest? Crowdfunding?

Well I am sorry if that is what it sounded like. But I was merely giving some advice to her, I know they was a new member here. But how many times do we see new members who sign up here with threads like this? And it then turns out to be for the wrong reasons, most of those cases turn out to be fraudulent as well. Just saying :)

But ok I will give you the benefit of the doubt. Let us see how it plays out and if @Trudy keeps this thread updated.

Good luck with a chargeback. If the transaction comes up on the Gambling code then your bank will tell you to f off. The only time they can do anything is if it's still pending. Edit, still pending on your banks end not pending as in withdrawal

How would another casino gets this information? That you've done a chargeback at another casino.

Is it like some automated thing where your debit card provider (Visa/Mastercard) marks your account as having a "strike" and then casino's systems flag an incoming transaction with this "mark" as suspect and they are able to tell you've made chargebacks on your card.

Or is it a case the casino and bank sharing your information. Is this not a data breach?

I've honestly never known how the process works, so if ayone can explain, that would be helpful.

To be honest with ya, I am not fully aware what systems they use either. It might very well be the banks or cred card companies flagging account holders with a *flag* like you said. Or it might very well be some type of database that casinos have access too. I would not see it as a data breach, as it would be a freely shared database that only casino management have access too.

Those databases would be encrypted anyway and the data stored will probably be just first name, last name, even the last name might be censored. And it then will have the card numbers censored as well. And it might well then just list how many chargebacks a user has done with that card number etc etc. But I am open to knowing the true facts as well.

So if anyone knows how those blacklists get made and who stores them and how safe they are etc etc, please feel free to post and let us know :)

Please note: all I said above is all assumptions!................

Thank you Dion, that explains nothing to me

Unless I interpret that to mean Casino A) informs Casino B)
this is one from Bryan dating back to 2011 - whether the info is current youd have to ask him -
'Most casinos use iovation which is a database listing any claims submitted by those accepting CCs.'

The only chargeback I’ve ever made was sorted and in my bank in less than 7 days.
That said as I’ve said many times on here before, if I had known about CM, known the real affects of a chargeback after the event then I’d totally avoid such a thing as it still haunts me from time to time.
Use it literally as your last ever avenue to go down seriously...

True, we do get a lot of fraudster players, but I can't see the point in attempting to defraud a fraudulent gambling site. The player has nothing to gain - at best they get deposits back, and the site won't pay them winnings in most cases anyway. There have been players in the past who've actually been paid winnings AND charged back deposit afterwards, I believe that happened to Tropica once. A pro fraudster would know that 1668/JAZ sites would be a futile scam.

Many people don't understand the DPA scope. Information can be shared where there is a vital interest in doing so, i.e. prevention of crime or investigation thereof by interested parties.

Ok, well u did touch on this in one of your replies to @Trudy - when you said about just do not feel the urge to not cancel the chargeback now you have been paid. But maybe we will never know now. Maybe Trudy will now not be back on here and they might still keep the chargeback in place and we will never know for sure. But I was just stating some glaring questions that we all have to be aware than when chargebacks are said in any thread or mentioned. That we should always always be wary of the new forum members who have threads with that word in them.

I saw so many over the last years where those accounts on here then got deleted and banned.

I tried with Barclays before and they told me to fuck off. Said they can't query gambling coded transactions and need to go to Trading Standards.

NatWest sorted mine straight away no issues, that said I had loads of evidence from the casino in question that they didn’t offer nor even try to rectify my situation. I don’t regret it as at the time it was the only option I was aware of.
This was after months of being ignored and lied to by the casino

Yes, I was advising Trudy not to be as dishonest as the casino and play by the rules. Tempting as it may be when you're dealing with a clip joint.

@dunover -- I know you have said that 'chargebacks are automatic is some cases', but that has not been my experience. I have accounts at most of the Aussie banks, and none of them have prevented my gaming transactions from going through.

Is your comment a case of 'chinese whispers' or do you have solid proof of this happening? Just curious.

Note: I know there was a thread started by crikeym8 along the same lines, but I thought that thread had been well and truly discredited?
