CHATMASTER

Hi jonty chatmaster is looking into getting my account unlocked so i can play in these freerolls just wondering if you can offer any help as chatmaster isnt around. Have sent couple pms to chatmaster if you see him could you possibly ask him to reply if he gets a chance thankyou.

I noticed SEO_jonty was logged in to Casinomeister's at lunchtime today - but no comment in this thread...?

However, he did answer my PM to him yesterday with the following (in case anyone else was wondering):-
Hi guys,

We had a screw up with our systems, so we couldnt setup the tourney for this weekend. It only happened on the weekend and we only found out about it on sunday, making any tourneys we setup useless. We are very sorry for all the inconvenience.

So when's the next one?

Next Tournaments

Hey guys, sorry for the previous stuff up. I just wanted to notify everyone about the next two casinomeister freerolls that are going to be setup. The next one will be held on Sunday the 26th of November 2005 and will be for $50. The one after that will be held on Sunday the 4th of December 2005 and will be for $500!! Good luck everyone!

Just one problem with that - here in the UK November 26th is a Saturday! :D

I think we know what you mean - bring it on!

The Casinomeister freeroll isn't showing in the Poker333 lobby. I fear that, yet again, it isn't going to take place. :(

I can't see it either. I do know that Prima have changed the setup of these Private Tourneys, whereby they have to be setup in the Private Games Section by the Poker Room holding the Tourney - in this case Poker333.

Beforehand what used to happen is the Poker Room would send off a list to Prima one working week before the tourney and therefore Prima would set it up in the Freeroll tourney section - Hence once this was done, there was no need for a manual setup by the poker room.

I doubt very much if it is not appearing in the lobby today, that the tourney will happen. As the people who can set this up ie. seojonty will not be working over the weekend.

But I could possibly be wrong.

Perhaps a good idea to move the dates for these freerolls so they fall on a weekday - that way if there is a problem, one of the poker guys at poker333 can be contacted to resolve.

My bad again its the 27th, thanks for the spot KasinoKing, have a good tourney. :notworthy

We would if it was listed :(

Is the $500 freeroll still going to take place? If so, will everyone be invited, not just those with 30 points? There's been quite a few that haven't been ran because of the holidays and other issues....

Hi guys

A very valid point! The answer most certainly is Yes! I have also discussed the problems we have been having with the poker team. We now have a dedicated person to look after these kinds of tourneys from next year. This most definately will improve the setup on our side and me cocking it up every now and then.

PM RESPONCE

Hi chatmaster glad to see your back on the scene. Just wondering if you can reply to any of the private messages that ive sent to you. You said it may take over 3 months to get a reply from prima it has now been over 3 months so im assuming that you will have received an answer by now. I also sent you email as well but these must have got lost along with the private messages that i sent to yourself and the SEO that was posting here in your absence i also posted in the forum asking if you could look into it. I also emailed Sandy Koor and asked him to pass a message on to you. You must have been extremly busy so hopefully now you are back posting here i can get a responce.

If you have a message for prima, you can send it to me and I can make sure the right person gets it.

Me too!

lol, I have a comment for them too. Keep in mind when reading this that I do understand it's a freeroll and you get what you pay for, but also...well, you'll see what I mean.

During the noon $1,000 freeroll yesterday (11-27), it started getting horribly bad..lags, disconnects, etc. Then everything just up and stopped. No cards dealt, nothing, for 1.5 hours!. Now I'm not a total nerd sitting there staring at the screen waiting for something to happen; I'm off doing other stuff, but keeping the window open and listening for chips to fall, cards to deal, etc :p Anyways, it takes them a whole 10 seconds to send a broadcast message to say what's going on, whether they're going to cancel the tourney, etc etc etc....None of that. They broadcast one while we were still getting cards (Was able to play about 15 hands in a half hour, table playing at decent speed during the actual hands) saying they had tech difficulties and were working on it.

Anyways, If prima cares this much about potential depositers and all, you would think they wouldn't keep them in the dark about all of this. After about 1.5 hours, they finally cancelled the tourney. I even saw a high stakes ring game get shutdown because of the problems. They were even calling for the poker manager to come in because of the lags (Was folding hands before they could even react, one hand lost quite a bit of money because of it), but alas, the poker manager never responded. I talked with support on the room I was actually playing on, and apparently Prima doesn't even bother to notify each room when they're experiencing difficulties and when to expect a resolution...I feel sorry for these rooms, as I'm sure they were bombarded with complaints but couldn't provide an ETA or any kind of answer.

As I said above, you get what you pay for, but c'mon....this was affecting cash games just as much as the freeroll, and they weren't even notifying the cash games or answering support requests for the manager. If anyone knows prima, 99% of the time when someone cusses during a cash game, pokermgr### is there a split second later telling you not to use obscene language or your chat may be disabled :)

My suggestion would be to lower the max # of freeroll entrants down to 8k or another managable #. It seems once they go over the 11,000 mark, they start having problems.

edit: Hey, here's another suggestion. If they base the amount they're willing to pay out on the max number of entrants, it works out to around $.09 for 11,000 to have a $1,000 pool. If they want to limit it to 8,000 so there's no chance for problems, it comes out to $727 - so just drop it to $725. That's more than most freerolls out there, and I could all but guarantee they'd be full everyday.

Hi Sweetdenny

This thing has been going for a while now and I have been trying my best to get a response about the issue. However I have no news yet. If you were able to get a response from Prima it would most certainly help. Were you able to get yourself cleared at any of the other Prima rooms yet or not? Or anything that has changed since the last time we talked? It will be appreciated.

Hi Winbig72

Yah. I hear you. I have no idea what happened there but I would like an explination as well. I doubt though that by lowering the amount of players will help preventing the problems you had though. The Prima network are set up to handle allot more than 11k so I doubt that it was any issue with regards to the # of players. I am interested though in finding out what really happened.

No Change

Nothing at all has changed since last spoke just waiting to hear back from you. All the other rooms say they havent a problem with my account but they cant assist in problems with another room. So until poker333 gets my account unlocked i cant play on any prima rooms. I cant contact prima myself unless something has changed in the last 3 months since you contacted prima. As far as im aware players cannot contact prima directly. Casinomeister says he has some kind of direct access so maybe he will get in touch with prima quicker than you can ill just have to wait and see what happens.

Thanks...Since you're more in a position to hear something than I am, let me know if you get any further updates...I would assume that one of their main servers crashed, as it wasn't a connectivity issue...but why they simply didn't reboot it? Maybe it was something pretty serious? Guess we'll have to wait and see....maybe Bryan can push the envelope *hint hint* ;)

edit: hmm it just seems that it was the # of players/tables open causing the problem - the problems only started when the freeroll started. I had been railbirding for a little bit before the tourney and everything was going fine. I do remember when they were toying around with bumping up the max # of entrants to 20,000 a couple of times, and it also failed miserably. I would sure hate to think that their IT dept isn't on the ball and not rebooting the servers on a daily basis to free resources, ram, etc...that many tables would definately eat the best of machines up...lol...I would think that, plus having redundant servers to take over when one flips out such as this would take care of the problem.

The player limitations are not caused by a lack of Hardware or resources. Prima is the same engine that Ladbrokes Poker uses and I can confirm the hardware in place there is top of the range - with more than enough scaleablity in place.

The limitations on number of players is a development issue which Microgaming and Derivco have been working on from day one. I remember the days when ladbrokes could only have a couple of thousand players connected across the site at any one time.

You will find that as the Prima Network grows so will increase it's ability to host more and more players concurrently.

What's going on with prima this time? lol....Seems something's wrong again. Can't even log in to sit down at a table, but it looks like the games are continuing to play for those that are already seated.

I've tried a few different prima rooms, and it's across the board; so it's definately something with prima itself.

Over the past 15 minutes of trying to sit, the seated players has dropped steadily from over 600 seated. It's now at 220 and still dropping; never going up.
