This is really shameful. Under the "security" pretext, they gonna block online gambling sites but their own. Imposed monopoly at it's best....

The original article is in french, this is the best translation i found, what's your thought on that ?

    Here is the crappy translation:

Sounds like a bunch of crybabies to me. I wonder what they consider an "illegal" site. Is this a site not licensed in Canada? How does Kahnawake fit in?

Well, that's too bad for the Canadians. I don't think there's any need for this though. As far as I'm concerned (and I apologize if I'm wrong on this), gambling has some kind of impact on a country's economical status. Wondering how this would affect them.

Lottery and Casino is a big cash cow for the government. They see that they have online competition, they don't like it, so they are forcing us to use the "official" government controlled site under the pretext that every online casino out there is illegal. That's just bull**** They'll go as far as forcing IPS to block these site for them...

Is this state-wide or nationwide? This seems to emanate from Quebec (French) who would hate Canadians spending lolly with UK casinos.

It's state (province) wide for now but if they are successful i don't see why they wouldn't do it nationwide. Loto-Quebec is available in all Canada not just Quebec.

As far as I was aware Lotto Quebec is only available for purchase and play in the province of Quebec. I live on a border town between Ontario and Quebec, and you must traverse into Quebec to play anything to do with their services.

May I ask what you are referring to with the previous statement? Perhaps I am not aware of some of their games available in Ontario or something???

No, like half the big jackpot from 6/49, Loto Max are always won in other provinces. It's a running joke in Quebec, what province is gonna win the jackpot, Ontario, BC, Alberta ?

Yes those are national lottery winnings, sometimes won in Quebec, but often won elsewhere. Loto Quebec's games are exclusive to Quebec however, and this ruling whilst setting a provincial precedent that other provinces may follow, will have zero impact anywhere outside the jurisdiction of Quebec. I am not concerned as to what impact this may have here in Ontario, but sadly Quebec has often gone off on it's own when it comes to rules and regulations being different from the rest of the country, for example the drinking age is one way in Quebec and another in the rest of the country. Quebec enjoys standing apart from the rest, thus I feel this bill will have zero impact outside of Quebec, hopefully zero impact within Quebec too if it gets voted down.

22 million in the other provinces

quebec gets its fair share of winners. This month someone won 1 million dollars on 6/49....$68,000...group win of $533,000

1 million dollar 6/49 win last month. 1 million dollar win lotto max...$364,000 lotto max...$238,000 6/49...$264,000 win on 6/49

Casinomeister got it right... Lotoquebec are a bunch of cry babies. Their site is soooo bad. Their mobile version is just awful. 95% of the time it doesnt recognize my IP adress and it says I cant log in. Their poker software was totally outdated 10 years ago and they havent change a thing about it. They are totally incompetent in every aspect and their strategy to ban every other company shows how dumb they are. Ay least they realize they can't compete with anyone. If this bullsh1t goes through I am never gambling online again. What a bunch of fkn retards.

I was suppose to go to the casino today. I won't. Fawk them.

Well I'm worried Lockinlove. They have already taken away being able to deposit by Visa. I can see the writing on the wall. Not many people (except for Jasmine of course) like the playolg.ca website. Personally, I would never play there again unless forced to.

Glad it's just Quebec for now (sorry my friends from Quebec but you know that old saying -- better you then me)

thats the banks due to fraud/chargebacks/bankruptcy claims.

I like playolg too. Guess you missed all my winnerscreenshots last week from a $200.00 deposit. In short:

but really...im not saying I trust in the government because you would have to be straight up delusional in order to. Im just not worried...for now.

I will say I am surprised our government hasnt tried that already. I mean really, not too long ago the liberals made a public speech asking all Canadian to donate their tax returns to government in order to lower our National debt but of course no offers from the thousands of politicians to donate any part of their huge salaries to it.

This has been in the works since the last budget back in April. Ah Quebec we are distinct indeed. Where we pay up to 60% in income taxes and various other deductions on our weekly salaries. Love Montreal love Canada. But...

This is bullshit. And if it does go thru I will give up gambling here. I will play in land based casinos only. abroad and in the USA. I refuse to play at quebec casinos, the rtp is less then 90%. I imagine it's not any better on their online website that offers decade old wms slots.

Fellow quebecers... I mourn the loss of our freedom to choose where we play.

I don't know their RTP, i made several deposit on espace jeux, i play slot exclusively and i never withdraw anything. I tried land based gaming hall, it's a "little" better but not by much. Online slots variety is also very limited, they have mostly IGT slots.
