Canadian Banks refusing gambling winnings

I wish you luck Lockinlove. As a last alternative can they send you a cheque?

I really dont know if they would even accept it. So instead of the bother its either quit gambling for life or open another account and make things easier. I choose open another bank account :D:D:D

It's weird that ScotiaBank allows you to deposit money into PlayOLG.ca but CIBC doesn't. I use BMO to deposit there on the rare occasions I play at that crappy online casino.

I get my withdrawals back from CIBC and BMO. The fees seem to fluctuate. When I cashed out $740 from Bet Victor into my BMO account, they only took $14. CIBC seems to take double that but I think BMO has done the same. I am awaiting a withdrawal from Slots Million of $350. I expect to get at least $320 back tomorrow or Friday.

quiting is not an option.....

Received a wire transfer into BMO, took 4 business days from Malta...cost 14$ on the banks end( plus 7.50 to deposit and processing fees.) With instadebit : 32red and bet365....2$ in....2$ back to bank, but sadly no doa.
good luck on which way you choose.

yeah I use my scotia visa to deposit on PlayOLG and then cashout to my bank. But Im not playing there until they get some real slots.

I use my scotia visa on sports interaction but its through a voucher. And then cashout via echeck.

Its all weird, I have an RBC Avion, Scotia Infinite Momentum, BMO World Elite and TD Aeroplan, all get declined for gaming, CIBC Aventura still works but that's it and I was sent a message about 6 mths ago that CIBC would not allow gaming transactions, not sure any of the banks know what the hell is going on.

My walmart mastercard and BMO airmiles used to work. Not anymore!

way too easy to pound on those cards, this way it keeps things in check, for me anyway.

Probably the same for me in the end. I use prepaid cards now and sometimes when I feel like gambling it means I have to go to the store. Which most of the time I dont feel like doing so I dont bother

So it was either walk out and buy a paysafe card for around 10%(?), can't quite remember, or use my regular
BMO MasterCard with secure code that worked to deposit into Malta....that has a cash advance fee of 5$.
Just the cost of doing business these days...and then a really helpful women from the bank who gave me
all the routing numbers etc.

Hi,

I have some bad news to report.

I am afraid that your new bank has refused your withdrawal. They cited 'gambling proceeds' as the reason for the rejection.

We are working on alternatives, including integrating a new transfer system that will allow us to get around the bank rejections.

Unfortunately as it seems the banks continue to refuse the transactions (and charge us $95 for both the transaction and rejection each time we try) we will have to work something else out.

I know this is very frustrating but rest assured we will find a way, somehow.

If you have any ideas in the meantime please let me know,

Thanks again,

James.

Wow. I have no idea how Im going to get my money. A friend of mine told me CIBC refused gambling money too.

Are you serious? PC Financial has always worked for me. Maybe they are shutting us down. Instadebit and Ecopayz still work well so far. I think it may have to do with the amount. Puts up red flags. I have more deposits then withdrawals and my withdrawals are very small (I take what I can get). Can they send out the funds in increments? There has to be a solution I would hope.

There is a payment solution that has come recently, which is being reviewed by the company I work for. Basically the "casino" can send you a prepaid mastercard which can be recharged by the casino, but only by the casino which sent you the card. You can withdraw via an ATM up to €500 per day and max €10,000 per month after a full KYC has been performed. The card would cost the player €10. Would be interesting to hear some feedback from you guys about this.

PC is CIBC. I'm with Alterna no problems but did talk to Alterna cs I was told that with Scotia not accepting wire transfer that CIBC will follow so probably that's why the problem. Why not use Instadebit? I have never had a problem using Instadebit.

Well I can try it with PC I guess. But Scotia told me if I attempt one more gaming transaction they will close all my products I have with them. This includes any ewallet attempts.

Would this be any different to getting a prepaid card from Neteller/Skrill/Eco?
Which can be used to cash winnings from any casino?

Will it have your name on it?
And lastly, can it be issued in any currency the casino offers?

Thanks!

Freddy

Wow this is really bad... I was about to go buy a paysafe card to make a deposit.... I'll go to the gym instead

paysafe is a prepaid card? Also can it be loaded by the casino nd then used at an ATM? I know trada can pay back to cards. The only reason why they cant do mine is Canadian banks have blocked these types already

I cant answer you about the above yet. But will for sure forward your questions and let you know what I find out.

I receieved my ecopayz card last week. It works. If this is an option at this casino.

slotsmillion for $1000 and Trada for $380.

Im gonna try entropay or ecopayz if slotsmillion has them. I know Trada is setting up ecopayz but thats gonna take a bit

At slotsmillion I can only deposit with ecopayz. Bank wire was the only withdrawal option which worked

I use prepaids every time at SM - they work fine and are all across ON

Hi Dionysus, are you able to explain prepaid cards. Do you mean if I apply for the actual ecocard then SM will pay to my ecopayz card?

No, just meant you've also the option of purchasing vanilla mastercard prepaid cards - they sell them at macs and shopper's drugmart stores - other stores id imagine too
they arent re loadable and you cant withdraw to them - you puchase the value you want to deposit into the casino - ex, 25, 50, 100; handy if youve no funds in eco - every casino accepts them

I use Ecopayz at Videoslots, Guts, Slotsmillion, Betat, Slotty Vegas, Rizk and I'm probably forgetting a few. More widely accepted then Instadebit which I use at Leo Vegas and Mr. Green (Videoslots also accepts this).

Ecopayz or Instadebit is definitely the route to go. I have never had an issue. Should I ever get lucky again, I will never do the bank transfer option after hearing all this. In fact, I have not done any bank transfers at all lately. If the casinos do not accept either of these 2 payment methods, I will not deposit.

I am not depositing at any casino where bankwire is the only option for withdrawal, for now.
I am unsure if I will get paid. I asked slotsmillion to answer this thread.

I messaged them today and told them not to attempt the bank transfer with this bank either since its just going to be a waste of time since my trada payment got refused. Trada told me today that they have been researching and noticed that Canadian banks policies changed apr 1.

So this is going to become a wider issue than just scotia, CIBC, PC and Royal. Whats really left though? TD? And who knows if thats works. I hope PC will accept ewallet payments. Not sure how any banks can refuse ewallets since people who own online stores will be using them.

I guess options are getting slimmer for Canadians. And will get worse for quebecers.

I don't understand why banks are not taking Ewallets. Are those ewallets only used for online gambling?

do we have a Canadian ewallet?

There are a few, Instadebit, Echeck, Idebit, guess I am lucky, I have just received 6 payments from Echeck for more than 50k in the last 2 weeks, no issues at all.

What is the difference between echeck and bank transfer?

Echeck is available on most download mg casinos.

I posted it on another thread but will say I believe it is part on the Interac Network, my Echeck transfers come next day and no transfer fees, all other forms of wire transfers are 3-7 days as well charge me $15 under a grand and $30 over, must be more work to transfer above a thousand...

Just checked my PC bank balance as I knew slotsmillion sent my money on Friday. It shows the money is there but also shows Trada refused.

I guess I should probably give it a week before I touch it. I dont need them to suddenly do an overdraft and take the money and put my account in a negative.

Or maybe I should take it out so they cant touch it since its gone? I doubt they can put my account in a negative like that right? Cause I only put $100 in the account when I opened so there was a balance. So not enough to cover $1000 if they do what scotia did to me.

I would get it out now, it's your money they can't send back what's not there?, I dunno I'm waiting for money now also wondering why the delay if it hits my account I withdrawal instantly. It's not your main bank anyway right? This maybe bad advice but screw the bank get your money out now.

Getting tougher and tougher

I used to be able to fund my Ecopayz acct with a Mastercard free of charge. They are now charging $5/transaction. This adds up as I only fund enough to deposit as it is to tempting to have too much in my balance. Just received my statement and there were $30 in charges. Sucks!

I think I agree. They cant take money that isnt there.

Sucks $500 a day withdraw amount. Oh well do it now and again in the morning.

I think its ok though because for some reason I thought I saw the trada casino rejection. Its not there. So the bank refused it before it entered my account. I think trada is having a problem with how they name their transactions.

Trada Casino vs Alea Gaming.

Plus I got an email from Trada today saying they are going to change how they send it so I think they know the word "casino" is no good.

Anyways. Very steep fee from PC financial. $25. So be careful to all you PC bankers.

Email transfer the funds to yourself and deposit into your main bank, just need two email address, then it's like. $2000, daily limit I think or something close, I do it to transfer to my bank that's out of town

Ecopayz cost

Hi guys,

Is any buddy familiar with ecopayz cost and charges and how much it would be to withdraw back to your credit card?

There website is so confusing! Plz help?

Ouch! Only ever got charged $10 but haven't had a bank withdrawal in a while. Oh well -- at least you got your money -- definitely worth the price! Enjoy your winnings and if you're ever in Mississauga (or Toronto), join me for a glass of wine!:D

I use Ecopayz all the time. Withdraw by ATM -- but charges are pretty steep. Bank charges $5 and Ecopayz usually around $10-$15. I find that using it as a credit card works best. Charges are not too bad. Normally around $2-$3 on a $100 purchase. Other option is to withdraw to your bank acct but then you're running into currency fees and bank charges. POS is your best option but depends on the amount you have.

I was just in Toronto last week for a blue jays game :D
