Note: I looked for a Bookmaker rep in the show roster page but did not see one, so am posting here.

Bookmaker Sportsbook of Costa Rica owes us over $16,000. We are affiliates with them, over 10 years now.

All was good, then the 10 player rule bit me ( send 10 players per month or you do not get paid ) , retro-actively applied, though they sent a few thousand initial payment a year ago, and promised more or so after I sent a lot of emails back and forth, then refused to pay the balance (even after taking out a 5% processing fee) I had been with them something like 10 years, sending traffic from a number roof our sports sites, then our new signups dropped, and they refused to pay.

Maybe is some former Bookmaker affiliates that are also owed money would get together, contact the sportsbook review websites, and perhaps we could file a lawsuit ( in Costa Rica )

Anyone have a similar story and want to join on? Being a Bookmaker Sportsbook Affiliate for many years, then Bookmaker refuses to pay the money owed?

They are now offering to pay us something like 2k out of the 16. That makes no sense to me at all. What do you think?

Oops!

Can you please explain what this has to do with Bovada?

SlotsLover, thanks! Nothing at all, that was a mistake, my fault for posting while tired, can't believe I did that...

Bovada is fine, an excellent Sportsbook in our experience of many years. The problem is with Bookmaker only.

I am trying to edit the post to correct the mistake ... but don't see an edit link.... ideas?

There's a finite time allotment wherein you can edit posts (15 min IIRC); otherwise you need to pm Bryan or a mod for help

Fixed.

It's three hours, not 15 minutes. :D

Cheers, good to know. I know there's period where, aside from being able to edit at all, you can edit without it reflecting the edit underneath...is that 3 hrs too?
Tx

That's 30 minutes. :D

As for the OP - which sportsbook are you referring to? For an affiliate program to set this back retroactively is "rogue" in my opinion, and they should be named and shamed, and your fellow affiliates (and referred players) should be warned.

Hi, CasinoMeister, and thanks - I agree, they really should be shamed.

The Sportsbook is Bookmaker.eu, (previously Bookmaker.com), and I sent them traffic and was paid for over 10 years from FootballBetting.com, OnlineSportsbooks.com and others. A few years ago signups were down and they started pulling the "10 new players per month or we pay nothing" deal. These were not the terms when we signed up. And had no other argument or beef with us, nothing, ever, I never bet or played in the Casino.

Last year the balance owed to us at Bookmaker.eu reached 14k and they paid 3k or 3k twice, I can't remember which (after a lot of email and phone calls), then refused to pay more without new players. Well I tried again last month to talk them into paying, after a ton of phone calls again, they paid 3k out of 17k, on the condition I continue promoting them.

I am not alone in getting ripped off. If you search for "bookmaker sucks" you will see more very similar 10 player rule stories where they simply stop paying. Hey, I understand them DROPPING a affiliate for not enough signups, but KEEPING ALL THE AFFILIATE FUNDS IS ILLEGAL.

Many affiliates advertise them and in the Bookmaker sportsbook review, say that the reputation of Bookmaker.eu is spotless and give them A or A+.

For example:
Sportsbookreview.com - "Bookmaker Sportsbook is considered a pillar of the offshore sports betting industry and is one of the oldest sportsbooks in the business and most trusted by players. Bookmaker has a large wagering cart and competitive bonus program."

I do not believe there is ANY legal way to refuse to pay funds owed. This is affiliate only money, no casino or betting earning or losses involved.
Perhaps if I can find a forum they are active on I can bring more attention to the lack of morals and direct thievery they show.

If anyone else has a similar Bookmaker.eu story, please let me know. I want to hear your story and get the word out.
At the very least future affiliates should be warned, right?

Thanks for posting the name of the program.
It's becoming more and more common to introduce quotas as a blatant money grab and they are always introduced retroactively.
Affutd (william hill) done this last year although it's only 1 signup per 3 months.
10 RMPs in 1 month is pretty difficult for a smaller affiliate

Did the movie "Runner Runner" reflects the reality of how business is done in Costa Rica (using bribery, cheating and shaving)?

Someone can confirm this fact or disprove.

Thanks

Unfortunately this is not isolated case as casinos/bookies refuse to pay to affiliates or cut them off for some crappy reason. A year ago (I think), PokerStars broke the deals with many old affiliates which did not bring enough new sign ups. At least PokerStars pay everyone`s money, but is still a shitty move.

Yes, it is a shitty move. When we have called, Bookmaker simply says "Our affiliate agreements have changed and no longer payout money unless so many active and NEW signups are had", despite the fact that we have generated them plenty of money already.
