It would be about right now that I would be showing up at Wazy O'conners - finding the manager, and meeting the barkeep who would be serving our drinks. Ensuring the credit card was booked properly, and that I had the cash for the musicians. It would be about now that Dunover and Kasino King would show up even though drinks don't start until 5pm. :p

Me so sad it's not happening right now.

But what the hell - I have beers here. :drink:

Ah - here is the first one: 2008

That evening was probably one of the best evenings I've had in a long time. It was the Meister Meeting at the Atlas Pub - and actually the first official Casinomeister event. It was a total success - success equating a candle-lit mellow pub experience. We had the upstairs to ourselves - I would guess about 40 of us. There were a number of players, affiliate managers, casino managers and operators, webmasters, and a number of old-timers and friends. One thing we all had in common was the website: Casinomeister.

Might have to collect the reward next year ...

"POSTPONED: iGB Affiliate London 2021"

Regrettably, we have made the decision to postpone iGB Affiliate London until February 2022. This also includes our co-located ICE London event.

The new proposed dates are 2 – 5 February for iGB Affiliate London at Excel, London (ICE London is 1 – 3 February 2022).

Registration will be available later on in the year.

There probably wasn't room for the casino display stands between all the hospital beds... :(
(For those that don't know - the venue for these events has been turned into a giant hospital for Covid patients)

I'm REALLY going to miss the Meister meet this year (I haven't missed one yet!) - but I guess we'll all just have to drink twice as much next year!

2021 by all metrics, looks to be as bad as 2020
But the light - end of tunnel whatnot- is next year (hopefully) the world will be right as rain.
Absence makes the heart grow fonder and all that, and I imagine people will have renewed vigor to attend conferences and meetings and attack lives with zest and zeal.

Hope to make a MeisterMeet one year; I'm pretty far across the pond but I'll get there eventually

Yes, it seems people are very keen to get to London next year, seems OK for COVID rules, easy to travel and simple proof of vaccination is enough for the UK. Already got my passes for ICE and LAC got a feeling it'll be a big one, even more so than normal. As for the Meistermeet you'd better ask @Casinomeister if it is going to happen in 2022, I am not sure. If not, we can still all meet up somewhere at the same time, 5PM Tuesday, but picking up our own drinks tabs haha. Kind of unofficial Meistermeet.

Hmmm, yes - the Meister Meeting. I am not sure if this is a go or not. There is still a lot of reluctance to being in enclosed places with lots of people.

Just an idea as you know, I never make it.

However for those who do enjoy it, why not postpone until Summer and arranged something outdoors based or a pub with large beer garden.

I appreciate this will not line up nicely with ICE etc but will at least allow to restart the ball rolling so to speak?

Not my experience. Been pretty much back to normal in London. Everywhere is really busy with people getting on with their lives.

Yes, a few of us members met up there last month for a night over and it was all normal, tested before I went, tested when I came back (PCR) and all good for us.

You could always head further north in the UK if not tied to ICE. The beer is cheaper for starters x
Yeah, but the idea is to enjoy ourselves. :D:p

Well, if @dunover AKA the King of IBS and farting is going to be there, is it any wonder?
I can honestly say I've never fouled the atmosphere of any of the previous meetings I've attended. On the day of the event, in the morning I have taken preventative measures:

Given that most posters are Brits if it is held away from the other events having it more central uk makes sense. Both Birmingham and Manchester are easy to get to even for those flying in.

... and we wonder why the Covid numbers aren't falling fast enough :eek2:

Personally I am still VERY reluctant to be indoors in busy places, despite being double jabbed and soon to be triple jabbed.
(Yes I am one of the few people still wearing a face mask in all shops I go in).

I love the Miester Meet, but to be honest Tuesday is not an ideal day for me. Most years I have gone to London on Tuesday, come home that night and then gone back up for LAC on Thursday! So a meeting in the evening of a "LAC day" would be my ideal scenario - though I know this may be tricky for Bryan and some others due to work meetings.

Anyway whatever, if there is a Meister Meet I will do my best to be there no matter which day or location it is

Nope, I still wear masks on public transport and in shops etc. The public seem to like that fact as well..

Don't forget the UK detects more cases than most countries due to huge amounts of testing we do here. The numbers here remain static with the vast majority of deaths or serious cases in those who choce not be vaccinated:

It's not until the 50-59 age group that we even see any noticeable deaths among the vaccinated and under 70 they are extremely rare, well in excess of 10,000-1.

Yes, I'll wear facial placebos whilst on public transport, as our dickhead mayor has decreed it, and I'm hardly what you'd call inconspicuous. Yet when actually taking the time to look around, I see near enough everyone mask-less! And yet, I continue....

Shops I may opt to don a mask, or may not, it's not a requirement, but if heaving with people then perhaps so.

Went almost full- Hazmat suit the other day to the cinema, step through and what do I see? mask-less revellers buying popcorn and nachos, almost as if it were 'normal'!

Yes it may seem strange if flying over from somewhere that still heavily mandates Covid restrictions, but from what I can tell, many venues here don't, leaving it to individuals regarding masks and so forth. Those that have 'chosen' to get vaxxed most likely have, and the most vulnerable you'd think mostly have been as well.

It's got to the point where the perceived threat is greater than any actual one, governments have seemingly conditioned folk into irrational behaviours, like the classic 'hey it's someone else walking towards me, I'll step into the road' manoeuvre, and similar banalities that have got folk into a tizzy.

So until we go full-Austria with the segregation of vaxxed/ unvaxxed, I intend to go to pubs and so forth not masked- up to the hilt. Because if that were to be the requirement, I should imagine my response to be something along the lines of

"Fuck that"

I've been in Vegas all week. Wearing masks inside is obligatory and on the whole 99.9% of people are wearing them and going on with their normal lives. The casinos and strip have been packed this week, I've never seen it busier than last night. There's been a UFC fight going on and a two day music festival on the strip which has seen large numbers of people arriving.

I'll certainly be glad to get back to the UK and not have to wear a mask unless I decide I want to. I went to a couple of concerts in London during the past few weeks and no one was wearing a mask.

I am glad that more and more interesting events are taking place lately. I'm going to visit the local casino tonight and have some fun.
