Resolved BetMGM holding £170,000! After huge progressive win and I can’t get my winnings.

I’ve just done it, but I have no idea if I’ve done it right? I’m useless with technology. Hopefully someone on here from admin will see it and contact me if it’s done wrong.
All is good, received and in progress. As the others have mentioned, we do ask that you no longer post about your case until we’ve finished our work on it, as per the PAB Rules .

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Hi everyone, just to let everyone know that offered advice and showed an interest in my post….
I have now received my winnings. The full amount was paid yesterday. Once the complaints department got involved at Betmgm things got sorted out.
Still a terrible experience though, but I think it was lack of communication between departments that was the problem.
Anyway thanks again everyone.

Our contacts to BetMGM gave us the good news a few hours ago, just wanted to ensure all was done and dusted before announcing. But here we are! Congrats @footloose ! :cheerleader:

Well you'll have a great weekend now, one you'll always remember and think about chucking 100k or whatever in a no-access 4% account or something at the bank for 12 months - money like that can be a great foundation for future peace of mind. :)

That’s exactly what we are doing. I won’t be doing anything too hasty just yet lol.

Worth mentioning to use multiple bank accounts as each one is covered to £85,000. Also an NS&I Bonds account is another good place to safely keep money, with £50k in there i think the return is about 3-4% on average.

EDIT: Average for £50k is around £1750, Since luck is on your side with the recent jackpot win who knows what prizes you'll get with bonds 😂

Fantastic news re getting paid!!

But it just makes me even less inclined to use online casinos reading this.

If an online casino verifies your ID/address, and is happy to accept a deposit and let you place a bet on a slot machine, then if you hit a mega jackpot the only thing they should be doing is congratulating you, getting the provider to verify the win (Max 24 hours) and pay you.

No further ID, bank statements or anything, just pay the player!

This should be law!!

I would stick £50k straight into premium bonds and forget about them - just take the monthly prizes

Max out a stocks and shares ISA today at 20k, then you can do the same again next month when the tax year resets

Do whatever you want with the remaining

I would also tell the Mrs that due to an EDD error, we are not getting paid lol (and hope she does not decide to come on here asking for help)

Another one for the NS&I bonds! It's perfect really, separate protection for the 50k, okay average returns and the little gamble-y chance of a jackpot.

I maxed out my ISA for the first time this financial year and will be doing so again in april too!

Yeah Dunover gutted his 6 figure salary is getting cut soon.
Cut ages ago as I am restricted to one £250 dipper a month on poxy £2 stakes. Lost the will to deal with it. I guess the penthouse in Mayfair is off the agenda now.

Ive had the max holding for a couple of years now in premium bonds - tend to average aroun 2-3k a year - best month ive ever had is £700 but I like the fact they sit there and there is a very small chance of winning £1million

I have never acheived a winning month every year - got close last year but November let me down. Hopefully will get it this year.

I've got nothing in bonds atm but I'm hoping to get the max in there next financial year.

If you are using some of your epic win for long term savings, consider putting some of your winnings into Gold. Its a good hedge against inflation especially in these turbulent economic and political times.

In the UK gold bullion is VAT free, and if you buy UK legal tender gold coins (Sovereigns or Britannias) they are also CGT free as well.

Plus gold Britannias are cool AF!!

I use Chards but there are many decent bullion dealers in the UK.

100% agree with this as well - I get sovereigns from bullion by post - easy to keep around the house and the fact they are exempt from Capital Gains Tax is a massive bonus.

From what I understand, it was an important part of the process. Max and Gourd are too humble to come bragging on the thread.
It's like they tried to get away with not paying out and then immediately paid up once CM got involved. Huge props to the PAB team for this but it makes me feel that BetMGM are willing to be as scummy as possible, whilst preserving their credibility if they deem it worthwhile.. of course, it could be coincidental timing I suppose

Please help! I have no clue what to do, but a few weeks back I won £170,000 on mgm millions wheel, it just rolled in major jackpot whilst playing the goodies slot. BetMGM were all sweetness and like at first saying congratulations etc and that I could get a wire transfer after verification which I did immediately and all was passed….. driving licence, passport, bank statement etc. they told me I would receive my winnings in a few days and I received an email saying that funds are on the way…. Fast forward a couple of weeks and after endless messages to and forth with the online chat which is pretty useless I’m now being told that my account is under review and that no timescale is available. I have been clearly lied too on multiple occasions as I’ve been promised everything is fine and funds on the way. Now I’m at a loss on what to do? I can’t get anywhere and the money is not showing on my online betMGM account so it’s gone somewhere! I’m terrified that I’m not going to get it. Please someone advise.
Many thanks
please can you give me some advice? won 3000 and i’ve wrote to them continuously just keep getting ‘ email when we have a response’ i’ve been to complaints now i don’t know what to do? will i get it???? it’s 3000 and i have screenshot of the winnings just so worried i wont get it
