Betfair suspended account after large withdrawal

Hi everyone, recently been playing on betfair casino, admittedly i was unaware of this bonus fiasco which i have just read about!

Was playing roulette / slots etc, withdrew around 6k, 2k to my paypal and 4k to my debit card. The 4k withdrawal was put on hold while i sent my driving licence and also had to ring them and speak over the phone. All pretty standard, apart from the phonecall? The 4k hit my bank on monday.

I redeposited monday and managed to withdraw 18k! I withdrew this early tuesday morning. I heard absolutely nothing from them, however the balance did leave my account and it did leave the reverse withdrawal stage.
Contacted them thursday and they said again the payment was on hold and they raised a ticket with the payment team. Received an email today, my account has been suspended and i need to send lots of documents in.

All pretty common RE the documents however i had already verified my account, and after reading reviews on askgamblers it seems it is a common occurence for betfair to immediately close accounts after a player makes a large withdrawal.

I guess im just looking for reassurance and that betfair will actually honour my withdrawal? Apparently it takes exactly 72hours for them to verify the documents i have sent them which seems absolutely insane! 3 full days to open my email and check my documents?

Thanks all!

despite what a lot will say on here betfair one of most secure casinos in the world. so you will be paid dont worry. withdrawals always stay pending for min 24hr anyway

Thanks for the reply! I guess i am just worrying myself silly as its such a large amount of money to me! Also reading lots of askgamblers complaints of other people getting their account suspended after withdrawing a large sum is not helping!

Is 72 hours a common timeframe for casinos to check documents sent in?

Heya! Having worked with Betfair CS in the past, I can confirm that this is usually the case :)

When it comes to large withdrawals, they will ask for additional docs or a repeat of the docs you have already sent in in order to confirm that everything is ok.

Also kindly know that CS might not have the full story on what's happening so don't be afraid when they say they need to ask for you. Just be sure to keep the agent's name and keep checking in every few hours as they're bound to forget to follow up considering they get around 250 contacts each per shift.

Congratz on your win!

Thank you! Ive found myself wishing the weekend away so i can hopefully get a reply on monday and be told my winnings are on their way to me!
I did contact them on twitter and they said basically it will take exactly 72 hours. Im guessing theres no way this can be sped up?

I also got an email from vip@betfair.com or something similar but as far as i can see im not a VIP!

Thanks for the help!

The 72 hours is a precaution thing as they do get craploads of documents daily but I would pressure them to keep that deadline as they never do.

With regards to the VIP email, you can expect they'd like to earn their money back ;) Sending you emails such as that with VIP offers is hoping that you turn that 18k to you into 20k for them ;)

Hi, the 72 hours is not for me receiving the fund its for them to process my documents. My withdrawal is on hold and account suspended until i assume these have been reviewed. Thats why i found it strange that it takes them a full 3 days to open the email i sent them with my documents attached.

Woops it seems you edited your comment :p Ignore my last reply!

Haha yeah! Only noticed after re-reading yours!

As I said, keep the pressure on them or they'll delay verification :) And if they sent you any info from the VIP email, use that to your advantage and tell the VIP peeps that you want them to show their commitment by processing it faster ;)!

It was quite confusing how the VIP email was sent.

After my 4k withdrawal i got an email from the VIP section asking for my drivers licence. I replied to the email as asked but 3 days later had heard nothing, went on live chat and they hadnt received it and asked me to resend to their KYC email.

Contacted live chat again not long after and im not a VIP so no clue why i was emailed from the VIP email :p But as it turns out it must not be monitored for replys anyway!

Weird must have either been a VIP agent mistake or something similar :)! Try also going on live chat and giving the documents directly from a PC, KYC@betfair.com tends to fill up quite quickly and "loses" emails ;)!
