Best / Popular Netent Slots - User Experiences?

I can understand money being a factor for the "big theme" slots, like Scarface & South Park, but I just don't get why they have to retire their own brands.
Why not just leave them as they are, playable on computer browsers (i.e. NOT converted to HTML5)?
My list of NetEnt games worth playing is shrinking by the day...

KK

I guess it still costs money to keep games running on Flash. Constant updates, changes, compliance etc. - would think it is quite a hassle to even just keep them on Flash.

Oh yeah! Netent Slots are reviewed at Casinomeister - to include their associated casinos! Woo woo!

Flash will have disappeared completely by 2020. That's why everyone HAD to start converting to HTML5.
The game providers didn't have an option, unless they were going to risk waiting until the last minute.

For me its:

  1. Creature from the Black Lagoon
  2. Secret of the Stones
  3. Jack and the Beanstalk
  4. Dead or Alive
  5. Lost Island
  6. Invisible Man
  7. Warlords
I really, really hope Creature from the Black Lagoon gets converted to HTML5 and will be very disappointed if it doesnt!

The problem for me with Netent is they are all much of a muchness. Some are just slightly worse than others. Nothing wrong at all with design, play, graphics, etc but the bottom line is I would rather play an awful looking game that delivers now and again. The only reason DOA is top of everyone’s list is because it does deliver but in terms of gripping to play, I am failing to see that one. Gonzo’s Quest is about the best for me but even that has never delivered me a really big hit in hundreds of bonuses. Jungle spirit used to be very consistent but there is no doubt that has had an update that wasn’t for the better. As for some of the others mentioned like Legend of S and Aloha, for me they are unplayable. Take a look at the posts of big wins on the forum, DOA aside where are the big wins from Netent. It may sound harsh but in an increasingly competitive market I think they need to change things.

I would be disappointed and surprised, to be honest. The one that I'm most worried about losing is Wild Turkey.

The list goes far beyond 7 as it is, a top-20 would be doing them justice. Their back-catalogue is rich and varied (bar the games they yank for fun).

Wild Turkey could easily be in that list, as could Lucky Angler, Demolition Squad etc etc

Victim of the Flash / HTML5 conversion. Quite a few Netent games have been pulled in the past 12 months.

Just checked the Netent conversion list and Evolution is not on it. Last ones they ported were Arabian Nights, Reel Steal and King of Slots.

Here's the last list with EOL (End of Life) dates.

Wha-

Evolution's been canned? And Muse? Love that game!

Beach too....it's one thing creating dross with no chance of winning, but binning classics like that is unforgivable :eek2:

Yeah mate.... but you have now Double Stacks, BerryBurst, Mirror Mirror, Jumanji etc. :D
You almost lost me but restored my faith when you mentioned Jumanji, the 10p-wonder.

My face lights up with joy during the dice bonus round, especially when landing on 2x bet squares :p

apart from doa no other netent slot has payed anything decent for me and my god ive tried my worst provider by a country mile

I must say I find a lot of the netent bashing in poor form.
They have some genuinely great games with potential you can actually win, and many members here have done so... not with fantasy 8billion x megaways wins, but achievable and evident wins of 5000x regularly from some of there slots, not just now, but over the years...
1.DOA
2.JATB
3.Gonzo
4.wishmaster
5.Thunderfist
Just a quick 5, all fun to play with potential you can actually win.
Had my best ever lifetime sessions with netent, btg... meh
Not so much....

"best-known for their innovative, creative, and engaging video slots" umm yeh , if you live in the past
"exciting bonuses, great-looking graphics, and an easy-to-use interface ensures that playing their games is a breeze" wow , the MAIN thing wrong with modern netent is their bonuses just don't deliver excitement . Its the same old 10-50x every time . Plenty of other providers with better graphics and MUCH smoother interface / game mechanics as well . Jumanji , for example , runs horribly . Same as that recent fruit based crap that I cant even be bothered to look up the name of :p
Don't get me wrong , I give them a go, like hotline and that phantom of the opera one but you play for a bit and maybe come out 50x up and then leave because you know thats about the best you can expect

Oh no, no one's bashing their older games. The ones you listed are among their classics, and what...pre-2014? It's the constant pulling of older games and recent 'productions' that have provoked people's ire :D

The bashing is not because of who they were, it's because of what they chose to become. They did exactly what Microgaming did, sat atop their lofty perch, said to themselves "we've got this" (ie a good enough piece of market share) and promptly decided it was time to sit on their laurels.

While they did not go down the same route as Microgaming did (ie cloning all and sundry within their games catalogue), they were guilty of something else...

...they decided it was OK to shove the following formula down our throats....

Looks great, sounds great, plays SHITE, pays SHITE. I'm sorry, but there has been FAR TOO MUCH of that from Netent this past 2 years.

Their collective output of slots these past two years equates to the kind of slotting fare that would have provoked the great Chopley into making one of his greatest ever statements.....

"It seems to me that Netent have perniciously designed paytables that ensure the player has almost no chance of ever being ahead"

He was right back then, and he would be even more right now.

I've said it time and time again, Netent quite often NAIL every single element of a slot, except the one that matters most to the player....the paytable.

If all these recent epic fails they had created had all come with a decent paytable, they wouldn't have been epic fails. People would have played them.

But you simply cannot expect to attract players, if you're offering slots that have a maximum win of 400x. Or less.
If you do that now, you may as well just say to the player base "we seek your assistance in making our new release quickly become an afterthought".

The ire that is directed at them is because we know they are capable of so much more/better. The proven track record is there.

Just follow the winning formula you once had Netent. Simple.

As much as Netent have toiled, it's MG I'd be more worried about. I cannot recall their last original release, one that hasn't been outsourced to 3rd-party developers or has had any sense of excitement surrounding its release.

JP II maybe? And before that.....GoT?? What happened to them I'd like to know!

It might have been Bridesmaids. Or maybe it's Dragonz? Was Jurassic World really original? I think it's more of a poor sequel to the original JP. So poor in fact, that I have still not played a single spin on it yet. I'd usually be all for playing such a game. But that's how far MG have fell for me.

I find myself playing the same games. IR, Finer Reels, Playboy, JP, TS2, BSG, MM Isis. And Agent Jane for no reason other than to scoop up the last pennies of my balance. In order to "kill" a bonus.

Not even GOT or GWG are getting a look from me at the moment.

Apparently that phantom of the opera has potential over 7000x how?.. I’ve no idea

Sorry didn’t mean my post to come across that way mate.
And I agree post 2014 was good, lately I’d only really say warlords and possibly phantom due to the so called massive potential that I can’t seem to see how.
A lot like lost relics, but I’m no fan.
The last game they made I liked was hotline, the cool ‘when America was great again vibe’ with the 80’s music was actually genious.
Just wish the newer slots had better actual wins available.

I agree and my opening statement wasn’t as intended. I’ve not really liked a game since hotline, reasons mentioned in the reply to the goat.
I don’t get why a developer with such a back catalogue of classics can’t seem to churn out what they used to?.. doesn’t have to be megaways or the possibility of 4millionx, just 300-1000x that’s actually achievable, the old netent games had huge potential but we could actually see it... I don’t find that so much with the new breed of millionaire making slots.
I absolutely love CFTBL still, when I’m my laptop it’s my go to, the story and the sound bites and graphics, not all about silly potential for me, but some would be nice in the newer releases I agree totally.

I would agree with that. But ironically, since they started using the Megaways formula in their slots, Blueprint have definitely gone up a notch in my opinion.

Instead of creating a game where the sound of a teddy bear farting indicates that you are about to suffer the umpteenth shafting on a bonus tease,
they are actually coming up with some pretty good stuff that actually pays out decent. And not just one game either...

Diamond Mine (a bit of an iffy first effort by Blueprint to copy Bonanza, but still decent enough, so I forgive them for that).
Irish Riches Megaways (a Bonanza progressive of sorts, as it is a Jackpot King slot - apart from anything else, it's a much "cleaner" looking version of Bonanza).
Napoleon (which isn't Megaways I admit, but it is a Colossal Payout Series slot and it is very much living up to that billing).

But the one game that stands out for me is Genie Jackpots Megaways. I played this game for the first time this weekend and I thought it was BRILLIANT.
Lots going on, yes there are dead patches and the base game is a little bit on the weak side, but there is a superb variety of features and they all seem capable of delivering, some significantly better than others.
It has been quite some time since I had such an enjoyable and entertaining "first ever try" on a game. But Genie Jackpots Megaways delivered it.
It is definitely getting another visit from me and soon. I've no doubt that I will get caned on it soon enough, but I'd sooner play this before Bonanza, which is beginning to grate on me to such an extent, that it feels like an unplayable slot now.

DHV is the only slot that BTG have that I actually enjoy playing. The rest are just rubbish.

As for Netent not being able to churn out what they once did, who knows why?
I think the maths model that they use on their slots is a big part of the problem.
I don't really know anything about maths models, but it would seem that the maths model they use just leaves them a little bit "hamstrung".

And yeah, who couldn't love CFTBL. The slot with the all-time great line....

WHAT KINDOFA FEESH DO THEEEEEEESSEEEE?!?!?!?!

Haha what kind of feeesh!. It’s a superb slot, there is actually massive potential to, not to mention a great little story and a old classic horror movie to...
genie jackpots and napoleon lately are the only ones actually doin the mega wins, (DOA) always will, but for the new breed there on top of there game.
I just find it a tad depressing it’s like all or nothing slots now, like a 200x win isn’t important anymore, it’s all about what people see the streamers do, not there fault granted, but what’s wrong with a long session and a 300x win?..
Don’t always have to be a monster to enjoy your play time.
Just my thoughts and ty for the replies:)
