i played at mansion casino tonight...

messaged live support asking to flush my account withdrawl of over 800 up (1000+ withdrawl)... and oh dear... the "got any id" question comes into it...

im fuming...

yet again for me sums up my gambling... i risk my money, i know under any circumstance and legality of things i am 100% of legal age, cards i use are entirely mine, i live where i say i live but ffs... they still ask for scans of my driving licence or passport... ffs again i dont drive nor have i been abroad thus no passport...

im pissed off majorly, cant it be easy? i risk my hard earnt money simple as, and yet again im probably going to lose the entire lot because of it...

as to no suprise its playtech which i can reverse withdrawls, so it genuinely isnt fair, because they know full well i'll be tempted in the next week or so to play with all of it (even if i dont i still lose because of the id they require)

anyone can borrow their mates passports, change a few bits round and send it to a casino... but thats where the major fraud is... because my luck has been in and for once out of 7 years of gambling iv won the most iv ever won it feels like im having this fair and good fortune snatched away from me :(

So you do not have ID at all? Everyone knows you need to have ID before you withdraw anywhere. If you do not have it I would just not play. I don't know the area you are in , but in the US you can get a state issued ID, that works just as well as a license. I have to to give ID at every place I play at.

I also have no driver's licence, nor a passport. Not that I want to anyway, but it is a part of the reason why I no longer play at any new casinos. I'm good to go at the few that I do play at....32Red and 3Dice have never asked me for a thing re: documents. As for Inetbet, I sent them the id I do have, including credit card and a utility bill, along with the faxback form....and I was good to go. And although I don't really play at ClubWorld too much anymore, same deal there.

I would strongly suggest that if you are going to play at a casino you have never previously played, or cashed out from...that you speak with support, or the rep here, prior to playing. Make sure that the ID you do have, will be acceptable for them.

I don't know why everyone is so flabbergasted that some of us don't drive (thus no driver's licence), nor do we have passports. I don't travel abroad either, and don't see why I should have to pay $100 plus for a piece of ID that I will most likely never use. I also think Jasminebed (also from Canada), is like me...no passport/driver's licence. It's not THAT uncommon.

I still say these ID requirments from some of these places are just off the wall and over the top, and yet another excuse to either not pay, or delay payment as long as possible. Why is it that a place like 3Dice (as a rule) doesn't require extensive ID and DNA samples? Yet other places want everything but your firstborn? These places certainly don't mind accepting those credit card deposits with no questions asked, do they?

Anyway Sparkz...get yourself pre-approved before you play. Amatrine, the OP is in the UK and I don't believe they have a government issued picture ID, much like here in Canada. It's passport or DL, and that's it.

its hard like here in the uk we get nothing...

iv never had any form of id since i was at school and got some crappy id card which i used at tescos a few weeks before and they said they cant accept it...

weeks later i lost it....

many casinos are of top quality... thinking mansion was advertised on UK tv, i thought it would be ok.... but nup

aparantly now i can hand in birth certificate scans according to support staff...

we had a long discussion which pissed me off a bit...

i went there as a blackjack only player... but was given a bonus :(... i got balance down to under 50c and played with my own cash... $200 later and what do you know iv been more lucky than ever and reached the $1100 mark :O...

in chat he kept telling me i hadnt met the WR of my bonus... but eh?? hardly much of a bonus when my balance is 50c and i stated playing with more of my own cash is it?

he realised after n said that $1100 is 100% withdrawable... but i cant hand in birth certificate scans instead of passport/driving licence scans (pointless but ahh well)

luckily i bought a copy of my birth certificate from a record database about a year ago so all i can do is hope its accepted because i was told its fine...

still dont get it though... they are aparantly willing to accept a copy of my birth certificate which anyone can get hold of (you check the net, many sites and not illegal 1's send u copies of birth certificates you request at a fee) to "verify" who i am

bullshit... if any casino had brains and the technology why couldnt my national insurance number be enough for starters? cause afterall if they can check the databases they would see i am who i say i am...

enough crap...i just want my money!!!!

oh and as for "flush" payouts.... no chance... you have to keep it as a pending withdraw for 24 hours... mehh

here here mate,

i know i should of... but as mentioned they were advertised on UK TV.... so like wtf

i searchd their terms before and it mentioned nothing about ID... didnt even expect the chat operator to say about it because the terms say nothing and all i asked was about "flushing" my account...

i have logged every single transaction on every game there.... so if i dont get payment...then.... ...... ..... ....... problems occur

Pina really gave you some great advise, as she said there are a few that dont require alot, sometimes just letting them know upfront your problem will work, if they want your money and continued patronage, they will work with you, id almost bet on it...............laurie

hi sparkz.

mansion is a good place to play imho. so donot worry youll be paid if everythings correct and fulfilled.

that they require an id is pretty normal, iam sure you can find it in their terms. i received some withdrawals past years from them, of course had to send in id at my first one. all withdrawals got processed on time also on sundays. forget asking them to flush they stick to their 4day pending, also normal in most playtechs.

have you tried to contact the mansion rep here on board?

iam sure he will help you find a solution with your verificational issue.

cheers

thanks for replys all...

well today i have found my birth certificate :D.... as per what Mark at their customer support told me last night, he said i can send a copy of my birth certificate in instead of passport/driving licence

so here goes, i will email them with that and see if they accept it like they said they would

Casinos should recognize this and should know this, different places, different ways of living. They shouldn't require the same documentation from everyone.

I know I will NEVER get a passport, but where I live Massachusetts you have to have ID for everything. Going to the bank/writing a check/getting carded for cigarettes/alcohol/etc...we just couldn't get along without an ID. I believe that's why if you don't have a license you can get a regular ID to prove who you are.

Also our other ways of trasportation sucks, bus/taxi, so when we are very young that's what we look forward to, a license so we can drive, and most people get one right away as soon as possible. (17 now, it used to be 16 when I was young)

I know from my friends in Canada (and probably other places too) that your city transportation is quite good, so it's not that uncommon to never get a license. Also my friends have told me it's quite expensive to get a license, it's very cheap here, that's where the difference may lie.

yea i agree, for me the train station is local, and busses run nicely, so theres no need to drive, and added with the expenses, its something like 40+ to get even just a provisional. and thats before i even take my main licence test, then get a car and pay for fuel, tax, insurance etc (my ex could drive, she would spend more than 40 in fuel a week and around 200 a month for insurance tax and mot...very expensive)

here we have things such as "challenge 21" which means if you look under 21 and try to buy alcohol/cigarettes they ask you for id, but thoese id cards are not government issued and they are not essential for everyone to have... they are hologram "pass" cards, for me though and many others theres no point buying 1 because i look old enough and never get asked for identification when buying alcohol/cigarettes

if for example someone in the uk is stopped by the police the police usually just ask for their name and address, to verify it they check on their database and maybe see if you had anything with you name on it on you (such as a bank statement/bill/pay slip/or even something with your name handwritten on it)

common sence is the only thing that separates getting my winnings or not... because my birth certificate states my DOB, Name, address when i was born (still the same address i live at now) so anyone who sees that my birth certificate name, address, DOB matches the details on my account (as well as being linked to my bank statement and card i used to register) should be able to see i am of legal age, i am who i say i am and that i have been wagering with my own money!!!

Hi Sparkz I feel your pain. The birth cert copy should be more than adequate to prove you are who you say you are after all you sent them all the other info and it all matches so you should be good to go. You won so you should get your money.

BTW stay off your computer or at least dont open the casino until you have been paid. It would suck to go through all the hassle you just went through only to play the money back!

Good luck

very true that, im fighting the determination not to play... but i know full well i have profited a very nice amount which im refusing to risk a penny of...

shame they dont flush payments through the system on request...

the good thing is i only have to get tonight out the way and that moneys as good as mine, because it only stays as reversible for 24 hours, then obviously they pay within 2-3 days after that so documents should of been approved by then....i hope :D

not a bad way to start 2010, lost 10 in william hill but over $800 winings the same night here :D

It gets worse with Mansion. If you use a card, they will send you a form where you have to list the deposits and authorise each one. You have to use a signature, a real one, and send it back. No electronic sigs and you can't scan it. A right pain in the a*se. I can see why security is important of course, but Mansion's procedures are the most frustrating I have ever come across and way more stringent than anyone else.

Oh and they don't flush anyway, unless you are a VIP. Poor.

But yeah...every casino (well, most) will want ID at some point of course. It is to be expected and is there to protect you and I as much as anything. It just needs to be done efficiently and sensibly.

W-w-w-ait a minute. You knew casinos need ID and that you couldn't produce one, so you play anyways, and are now mad that you have to provide ID? C'mon now. You know the standards. The only casino that doesn't need endless documents is 3Dice casino, the only casino I play at, because I know I probably couldn't produce the documents they need.

Please don't complain about a rule everyone - yourself included - needs to follow....

oh dear, obviously someone who doesnt have a clue...

I have played over the years at 100's of casinos...

many requireing NO ID, some requiring something as simple as a bank statement/card scans and many that must have either passport or driving licence...

when it comes to mansion as i mentioned i read the terms before joining and couldnt find anywhere that said about ID...

and why not complain about a rule? if i like many other think a rule is stupid they will say, its almost like any casino saying "please play with us, we will take as much money off you as we can but if you win we will stall, delay, and as for all sorts of stupid and pointless documents"

lots of casinos say they SOMETIMES require id, but when is it ever sometimes? in fact its more like all the time

the way of playing isnt right if casinos take your money with no questions, but upon any win many try everything for you to lose (payment delays, the avalibility of reversing withdrawls, etc)

the question is do you really think im that stupid as to sign up to a casino and play with 100's of my hard earnt cash knowing full well i wont see a penny of it because i dont have the right id?....NO!!!

still i dont see how many casinos asking for id is there to protect you... when many others simply send a letter with a withdrawl code you use to be able to withdraw cash...

as for simmo's post.... oh dear :(, doesnt seem fair at all that, especially when my card isnt even a credit card, its a standard SOLO card, almost makes me think after this ordeal i may install anti gambling software so i cant play anywhere again, afterall in the years iv been gambling i have lost loads and barely scraped a small win (max being around 200), now i finally get something decent and worthwhile im having to go through all this :(

Ive had your problems to because of the same reason, i think one of my first posts at CM was because of it and not being able to cash out my winnings.
I find it less stressful now to get my account verified before i deposit as the casino's seem to be more acceptable to your problems and help more before they have your hard earned cash  than after.
I think having to supply a photo id in the form of a DL or PP is such BS anyway as casino's can identify you by other means, and thay are not going to come round to your house to verify it is actually you in the photo, are they?
A CS person once wrote back to me saying that at my age a person would have one of these documents and virtually called me a fruadster because i didnt:mad: i suppose when some CS departments are situated in another country they think the same goverment rules are standard across all countries, re photo ID
just follow some of the good advice posted earlier in the thread and you will find it gets less stressfull

I see you said you use a debit card to deposit, if you dont already have a moneybookers/neteller account it may be worth getting one because some casino's seem to take having them as another step in the verification process, so it helps ,

yea thanks for the reply :D, wish i had verified myself before now...

i used to have neteller account but i barely gamble nowadays so i got it closed a while back..

the card i used is below "debit card" since its only a "solo" bank cashcard which i cant be overdrawn with so its nothing like say having a mastercard or visa debit card.

still eagerly anticipating an email from them saying my documents have been approved... finger crossed :D

I still say these ID requirments from some of these places are just off the wall and over the top, and yet another excuse to either not pay, or delay payment as long as possible.

It's especially insane when your using a web wallet such as Neteller. I had to practically give a DNA sample. And each 1 or 2 years they request an update of proof of ID docs. But at least with that account tNT now know's I am who I am.

Unless my cat now reads, writes and plays online casinos when I'm asleep :D

The casinos should also accept my Neteller account as proof of ID. Otherwise it's a double up on Docs. And besides, I'd trust Neteller (a registered UK financial institution) far more than some of these casinos.

I can understand asking for proof with a Credit Card. But if that's such a BIG issue then why only ask for it when a player makes a withdrawal?

They should be requesting proof of ID when the first deposit is made by a new player.

That's where most online casinos f#ck up. And players soon realise this has nothing to do with proof of ID but is more to do with delaying payments and hoping a player will reverse their withdrawal.

Cheers

:)

This ID thing has really blown up over the last couple of years. Itcertainly USED to be the case that ONLY using Neteller meant never being asked for ID, but this now means nothing any more. I am even being asked for ID at casinos I have played at for YEARS, under the old rules of "uses Neteller, don't need documents". This means that it is NOT necessarily safe even to continue playing at casinos that up till now have been happy to pay out without such a high level of documentation. A young person's card with the "pass" hologram SHOULD be accepted, as it is the ONLY ID card issued by the UK government that is JUST an ID card, and NOT an ID for a Driving Licence or Passport. Someone who intends to gamble from now on should invest in either a provisional drivers licence or a passport. A birth certificate, despite recent government promises, is STILL far too easily available.
The UK police use electronic databases to verify ID when they stop someone, based on who they say they are, and where they live, and a few other bits of information designed to catch out those using someone else's details to get away with something (usually driving whilst uninsured).

Unlike in the US, motoring is VERY expensive here in the UK, as well as much of Europe. Many people CHOOSE not to drive because of this, and good availability of public transport where they live. For passports, people tend only to get one when they are planning to go abroad, which is why I got my first in 2006 (valid till 2016 for withdrawing at casinos too:rolleyes:).

As well as it being easy to get hold of someone else's birth certificate to set yourself up as them, it is easy to get a provisional driving licence, even if you are medically unfit, purely for use as ID for online gambling. This is a conflict in the rules, because there IS no official UK ID card, and a drivers licence is the accepted equivalent, but certain people are not fit to drive, but it is for THEM to tell DVLA this, and NOT for DVLA to do checks beforehand. Obviously, to get a FULL driving licence, you have to pass the test, but a provisional can be got by ANYONE old enough to gamble, and is far cheaper than a passport.

In short, some players are having to LIE to their government agencies to get proxy ID cards so they can satisfy the requirements of casinos. Since this only happens on a WITHDRAWAL, it is effectively blackmail, since this should be happening at the time of deposit. A player who cannot satisfy the ID requirements can NEVER WIN (because they cannot ever withdraw), so the casino should NOT be accepting their bets, since the ONLY possible outcomes are the CASINO winning, or the bets being voided.

thats it really, its just them hoping you are tempted to play more before being verified and then lose it...

im wondering something else as well, with these playtech bonuses i was given a signup bonus... i played it right down to 0.50c, thus gathered the bonus wouldnt be active anymore...so deposited with my own cash

then i used live chat last night and at 1st the guy kept telling me i hadnt met the wr, musta taken about 15 mins of arguing.... then he said:

"Please accept my apologies, I can confirm that your balance reached USD 0.50 on 2010-01-04 22:28"

"I can confirm that the bonus was removed as a result so you will be able to withdraw these funds once you have verified your account"

is that right what hes saying then? when the balance reaches less than $1 the bonus is removed?

just wondering cause after all this activation i dont want to be lumped with some WR and lose it all :(

oh dear... as to quote the CS:

"Once the withdrawal has been pending for 24 hours you will not be able to cancel the withdrawal"

so based on that as it stands now its been 30+ hours, and its still reversable.... aka not good

it looks like it may turn into another poor playtech experience, 1stly was stanleys circus casino (mislead into losing my deposit+fair winnings) then william hill (it took days and days of hassle to get a payout). Every other playtech iv played at i have never met WR so not cashed out a penny, and now this doesnt look promising....

the way i can see things happening now is a major "stall" by them in the hope i'll be stupid enough to reverse my winnings and lose the lot... its bad enough iv sent in my documents they asked for and havent even got the "all ok" message yet (thus for all i know they could stall for days and then tell me they arent clear n whatnot... so by time i sent them again it could take a week) but now CS lying to me is just an annoyance more than anything...

in good faith i believe they will pay me no problems... its just the whole concept... having my winnings still reversable even after the 24 hour period they quoted just means it could be days until my winnings are no longer pending... and if i was still your average gambler i would slip and reverse it to play more until its gone... but i have learnt from that... i know completely that if i hit that reverse button i'll play and even if i win more and cashout it will be pending for another 2 or so days so again i'll withdraw and play more... which of course will keep happening until i have lost every penny

Well all i can say today is OMFG!!!

i emailed support asking what the hell is going on, i got the reply...

"In reference to your query I would like to advise you on behalf of our documents department that we are still waiting for a valid ID.

I kindly request you send in a copy of your ID. Please make sure that the documents are clearly visible.

If you have any other concerns please do not hesitate to contact us again at member service."

never heard sooo much rubbish in all my life...

I told support before sending any document about my situation and the support guy told me If i send in my birth certificate explaining i have no passport nor driving licence it will be accepted...

so i sent that in, then was asked for front and back of card, which i sent... and to quote thoese emails:

"Thank you for providing us with your ID documentation which has been received today and passed to our Security Department for verification. "

its about time i contacted 1 of their reps and got to the bottom of it. Very unprofessional, Poor service, i hope it can be resolved

I would try a PAB, as now you have a definite problem. The evidence shows now that they ARE "stalling" for some reason, and are giving you vague responses through CS.

PAB can be very effective, and you DO have evidence that they WILL accept your birth certificate and cards, which they now have, so either this was a lie, or they have LOST your documents somewhere in the system. Neither of these would be expected of a professional organisation conforming to the data protection act, so where they DO happen, this indicates a poor organisational structure.

If you PAB, make no further postings (other than to say you have PABd). The PAB process is more formal, but is still Max contacting the rep, but with less chance of you getting the "brush off". Further embellishment of your story can hinder the smooth progress of a PAB, and consume more of Max's time, which may then lead him to ditch your PAB for failing to follow the rules.

In short, some players are having to LIE to their government agencies to get proxy ID cards so they can satisfy the requirements of casinos. Since this only happens on a WITHDRAWAL, it is effectively blackmail, since this should be happening at the time of deposit. A player who cannot satisfy the ID requirements can NEVER WIN (because they cannot ever withdraw), so the casino should NOT be accepting their bets, since the ONLY possible outcomes are the CASINO winning, or the bets being voided.

thats the exact thing.... couldnt agree more...

its like them saying to you "we dont care who you are, whos card you use, as long as we get money out of your pocket" but then if by some chance theres a win they think "right, we have to pay up so lets make it as hard as possible so their winnings are either made void or we stall them for days so they reverse the withdrawl and lose it all"

The only casino i have played at with the brains and fairness all casinos should have was supercasino... you could deposit but before you could withdrawl they sent a withdraw activation code in the post, you recieve this, enter the code and you can withdraw all you like... theres no way to reverse a withdraw either (the only chance of them asking for documents is if you deposit/withdraw more than 1000, which is fair enough... nobody wants to have the hassle of sending in a lot of documents just for a withdraw of 20 or so profit afterall)

I would try a PAB, as now you have a definite problem. The evidence shows now that they ARE "stalling" for some reason, and are giving you vague responses through CS.
