To kauphy...My apologies for calling you "he". Shoulda done a little fact checking on that myself.
I don't have a problem with anyone's beliefs. I have a problem when those beliefs are based on the hate and fear-mongering talking points that come from Faux "News" infotainers and other lying liars who lie. All kauphy does is parrot what he's told by people in whose best interest it is to keep a status quo of the rich get richer, the whites get whiter, the poor get poorer, and the different go to jail or are exterminated for their differences. Kauphy's not stupid, but he refuses to believe that maybe, just maybe, it might be a good idea to check Snopes or Factcheck.org once in awhile.
I'll cop to being mean, but he got off the first salvos with every post where he accuses pretty much everyone who doesn't agree with him of being "sheeple".
There have been a few low blows swung here by folks who seem to be using personal criticism as an extension of their differing political opinions and implied moral superiority, and I hope this trend is not going to continue, because it pretty much destroys any hope of a useful conversation.
Politics is always going to be an emotive subject, especially among Americans where the divide between Republicans and Democrats just seems to get wider and meaner due to the efforts of followers on both sides who clearly have passionate views on the superiority of their beliefs and even morals.
The temptation to lash out is considerable, but really not productive imo.
Crabass is two words.
you r so right. but i really don,t like eather side and wish we could get the whole lot of them out. but u r right and i will stop now.
You don't like either side...BS...you've had nothing positive to say about democrats or Obama but I've not heard you criticize one GOP member. Give me a break and then you post that garbage from a actor/economist like his words carry a lot of weight or any weight at all. I surmise that it's pointless talkin to you bc all you want to do is divide and persuade and it's not workiing.
Laurie,
I have no problem at all with what you just stated. I have a very strong democratic background but I have voted republican when I thought that was the best candidate for the job. I don't let my party affliation get in the way of my country. I respect you for it and we will certainly not agree on some of the points that you make but they are your beliefs and I respect that.
What I don't like is the constant lies being told about the healthcare bill and Obama. I don't like Bush but when he was in the white house I respected him and what I'm seeing from GOP members is total disrespect and not even listening to what Obama or anybody else is saying.
The only way for this country to get back out of this recession is for everyone to work together. If country is first then your party should be second.
Great post Gloria and this is what i like to read in this section, everyones thoughts.
I still have hopes in President Obama but i just have high concerns that he is being influenced by some who think that they can re write the constitution on a whim and spend money that our great grandchildren will never be able to payback, thats a tax buden on our future generations.
In order for us to have dug ourselves somewhat out of the hole that we're 1/3 of the way out of money had to be spent to shore up banks, unemployment, housing, food stamps, etc...when you just read about the big bank bail out they fail to mention all the over sections that had to be helped by our government so that we did not go into a recession...I didn't just get that from democrats but I listened to economic shows and other sites like factcheck.org and political sites plus CNN..
I have concerns over China owning so many IOU's by our goverment .
That's been going on for years and probably will continue to go on. I was listening to NBC nightly news and Wolf Blitzer about this very same thing. China needs us as much as we need them. One of the reason we're so lop-sided with China is bc they have devalued their dollar thus making it cheap for us to do business in China but expensive to export. To get the gist of what I'm saying try googling China and the USA's economic disparity. This is one of the things that Obama is focusing on once we're more stabilized financially.
I have concerns over keeping more jobs here at home and not shipping them overseas.
Good luck with that. Greed is the number one reason why the jobs left in the first place
I have concerns over stopping 2 wars and bringing home our troops.
If all goes as planned Iraq in 2011 I believe or is it Afghanistan. I'm not sure so will have to look at CNN again.
I have concerns about illegals from Mexico and the drug wars going on at the boarder and spreading into places in Arizona and Texas, where people are being butchered.
Americans are causing the drug wars with their need for drugs. If there was a campaign or ads on TV explaining this to the American people it might help. They need to put up that highly proclaimed fence that Bush was talking about but then again you're going to have corrupt people manning the fence so who knows what to do about that.
These are major items that need attention now not later from our President and his Admin as they are the ruling party in the Congress and Senate.
I just want to see the Change that was promised, to much time was spent on a health bill that clearly most Americans dont want. We do need health care reform and that i agree on, but if the economy doesnt shift and jobs brought back and countries that are plotting to nuke their neighbor isnt stopped we will all cease to exist from this earth and wont have the need for health care at all imo.
Laurie in all honesty how much change can be expected in one year? Obama took office at the worse time possible and he has focused on most of the things that you have mentioned but all everyone has talked about is the healthcare bill.
If you go to the whitehouse.org you will see what's been done and what's being concentrated on. It's a lot more than you think...sorry this was a bit long but I wanted to address some of your issues and let you know that I don't blindly follow someone as I also expect them to live up to their promises.
Laurie

And this is why, people, I "don't do politics!" Aren't you all glad?
i really don,t like eather party i like you vote for who i think will do the best job. i,am not rep or dem never have been but i guess i get under alot of peoples skin. yes ur right i don,t like obama and i did,nt like bush when he was in. i think he started that war caz he could,nt catch the guys who hit us on r own land and he did,nt want to look bad. reamber this is just the way i see things so anybody who liked bush don,t start jumping on me caz i said i did,nt like him. i think the last good prez we had in was j.f.k but again thats just me. right now what it seems to me is there is a power game going on with both the rep and dem and obama and when the rep get back in as they will then they r going to do the samething the dems r doing and not listen but whats really bad is nobody is listening to the american people. i have never seen this much anger on here and everywhere eles as i have latly.i agree that we all have to work together to get back on track but as for that happening is anybody guess. and about me getting mad if people don,t see it my way i don,t it seems that more people get mad at me caz i don,t see things their way and i don,t like who they think i should like. we r who we r and will never see things the same but thats a good thing as i see it.Laurie,
