OK so I signed up to ABC, took their welcome offer of £100 + £100 bonus.

I play slots, and at stakes upto about £1.5 max a spin, usually 40-80p. Had a couple of hours playing Thursday night, then yesterday after playing several slots, I loaded up a slot called "Manhatten Wild" and thought I was betting 50p, when after 2 spins realised it was £50!!

I wondered how I could have made the mistake, but (see screenshot) the stakes IMO are not clear. the bets between £1 and £5 are shown as 1.00 2.00 etc, but after than £10 is shown as just 10, with no £1 or decimal places. So I clicked on 50 assuming it was 50p. Anyway I went on live chat and asked if they could do anything, was told no as "they would have paid had it hit a big win" I then pointed out they wouldnt as I was using a bonus with a max bet rule of £5. She agreed and apologised but still said nothing could be done.

After than I just asked for my account to be closed and forfeit the balance as it was pointless playing on because I had breached the t&cs of the bonus.

I fully accept that I made the error in betting £50, but due to the unclear stake page, the fact its obvious I wasnt doing it on purpose as it breached the bonus, I feel they could have cancelled those 2 bets.

On well another casino crossed of my list.

Personally from your screen shot, I think it's pretty obvious it was a £50 stake.

However, seeing as you was on a bonus and could never of profited from the bets, I feel the casino could (as other casinos have done in the past) and should of cancelled those bets and put you back as your were, as it's was obviously a mistake.

Speak to the rep @L&L-Jan to see if he can send some goodwill in your direction.

Im honestly not too bothered, I totally accept I made the mistake. Anyway I asked for the account to be closed yesterday so im just going to move on. Thanks for the feedback, guess its a reminder to self to carefully check stake size in future.

Have you actually spoken to @L&L-Jan ?
I agree with others though, the stake is clear, I mean, if you thought 50 was 50p, what did you think 0.50 was? 1/2p?

Live chat at most casinos would say the same tbh, its when you go higher up that they sometimes would reset your balance or similar. Totally understand why you closed your account, I have done so at some casinos in similar circumstances, but considering how responsive Jan is on here, think a PM might have been the way forward.

You have nothing to lose by contacting @L&L-Jan , He is by far up there as one of the best reps on this forum.

Seems strange to start a thread if you are not bothered about the outcome.

Casino chat are basically reading from a script with no discretion, the reps are much further up the chain, seems daft to not approach the rep, for what was clearly an honest mistake.

I agree with Gaz and others that its clear its not 0.50 bet as that is clearly in the top row, as with all No Limit slots. Also that the larger bet sizes are towards the bottom as it runs in order.

This being said, whatever the reason you've already admitted it was your error, The moment I noticed I'd done something like this I'd have sent an email to the powers that be, something like....

"Hey, I messed up but admit my error, only just joined your casinos and was enjoying my session, anything you can do to help me out with an obvious mistake, one I will learn from "

Not making decisions for anyone but feel confident with this situation that Jan will pull out all the stops to do his best to do what he can!

I closed the account because the £70 quid I had in there after my £100 mess up was also dead money, as I breached the t&cs of the bonus.
This is what happened to @Playford7 last month he spoke to live chat left it there until he spoke to Jan and on Monday morning the bonus was reset.
You were a bit premature closing the account as it probably would have been sorted for ya.

I don't get why you'd close your account when you acknowledged it was your mistake. It's like ordering the wrong dish at a restaurant, and deciding not to go back there again because of it.

And to be fair, that also has a negative affect on my willingness to help.

I hear the "mood music", I would be quite happy to reopen my account and ask them one more time if they would be kind enough to reconsider. As myke says above, in my mind I was looking at stakes of 10p 25p 50p 70p 100p on the bottom row, then on the next row stakes going from £1 - £5 so didnt even notice the top line as in my mind I had assumed they would be the high limits as I thought stakes were increasing with each row up.

If that bottom line has either a £ sign, or decimal points like the other rows, I would have never made the error.

It's perfectly clear. I don't understand how anybody reasonably could not see that is a £50.00 bet, especially as the £0.50 bet is shown right at the top. Which is where you'd expect it to be.

There is also no need for the decimal point.

A bet is 1 unit. The cheapest bet is 20% of a unit, i.e. 0.2. You chose a bet of 50x1 unit.

NoLimit slots also prevent you from betting more than you have available, so in this case the bets above 50x are not available to you.

I don't really understand why your are trying to argue why the numbers confused you?. ( only 1 person has semi agreed with you anyway).

At the end of the day, it was your mistake and you throwing a paddy and closing your account, when you could of come on here and started a thread for advice.

It was clearly a genuine mistake and unless you contact Jan anything else said is pointless.

Damned phrasing ;)

(I did of course mean "prevent you from selecting a bet of a size greater than your available balance")

Which is certainly less rude than GreenTube's "you've not got enough for this bet, please close the game.", which I find terribly irritating as I may want to glance through a help file etc before depositing.

It's easily done and unfortunate when it happens. It doesn't help that the staking interfaces differ between providers. On the new Novomatic UI the lower stakes are at the bottom, but on No Limit they are at the top, and there are more figures in the lower value than on the higher stakes, so at a glance 0.50 looks bigger than 50.

I've always been a believer that the player shouldn't be able to reach high stakes through a single button press - it's always better to have to click through the available stakes to get right to the top, so you know that you're there. But on mobile it's fiddly and therefore I can see the reason behind the gravitation towards the multi-button interface.

I'd like to see the removal of the max bet button, or certainly move it away from the spin button. I also hate wrap-around arrow buttons on stake panels where you can go through to the max stake straight from the minimum - although I rarely see this now.

I had a similar thing on Jackpot joy a couple of weeks ago...

i was playing gorilla gold and i upped the stakes and it would appear my phone glitched as it went to max bet from previous bet of 2 pound!!

I only had 170 balance so after 3 spins it said insufficicent balance, I contacted JJ support and they looked and agreed it was a genuine mistake and refunded my losses for those spins instantly

I have to say i was suprised and said, what if i had won, i think you are being very fair and he said

had you won im guessing you wouldnt have felt the need to contact us!!!! but we are here to allow people enjoyment and we are allowed to make pragmatic calls on certain situations....
