Thanks for all of the feedback so far. It's very useful. As News Hound points out, in order to play demo games anywhere online in the UK, by law these must be overlaid by an age verification gateway. There are different tools out there, all of which capture personal information and we have opted to integrate 1account's solution on First Look Games and route our game providers' demo games through it. For everyone's reference, what transpires in the process is a digital check against a variety of databases - the electoral roll being one as pointed out - to verify that you are over 18. Here's how it works:
You do not have permission to view link Log in or register now.
. What is certainly not sufficient with regards UKGC regulations is a simple date of birth entry if the site is aimed at a player audience. Play'n GO may get away with it as they're a B2B provider whose website principally targets an industry audience.

I appreciate entering personal information in order to play a demo game is not everyone's cup of tea, but it is the only way to do it going forward if you want to 'try before you buy' on casino games in the UK.
I looked at 1account for age verification but they refused to tell me what they did with my customers data!! Seems like they keep it and I understand they are backed by russian porn money so no guesses where your client data will end up!!!

I am guessing you vape based on your user name and have come across 1account as a result of them being used on more on more vape sites to verify your age. I too have seen that article in the register published in 2019, I presume that is what you are referring to - concerning the under 18 ban on adult sites that has in fact not happened.

Like gambling and vaping, I guess another of their target markets is obviously the adult 'entertainment' market.

Presumably they also will have to comply with GDPR and all that entails, what with being a UK company. @tomgalanis may want to add more to this.

No a business that doesn't charge any clients for the service they are offering...... hmmm, not rocket science!
Ok, we don't charge for the Player Arbitration service here at Casinomeister. Explain the "not rocket science" please.

You are actually mistaken there. 1account offer a free age verification service and also a paid for service.

Sorry - have just come across this. 1account is governed by its privacy policy, which sees them abide by all required privacy and data protection laws, as well as its ISO/IEC certification. All of this you'll find on or through their website.
