Thanks Cdomi - I've just got my fingers crossed that we get 100 entries in the tourney by the time it starts, otherwise it auto cancels. Should be fine though, but always makes me nervous. :)

69 entries so far but still almost 3 hours to go so should be good :) wished ide knew it as well, only had $55 until tomorrow, so missed out on the 1000 rubies :)

BTW congrats on the #1 well done and well deserved :thumbsup:
 
85 entries and still two hours to the start. Should be 100 until the start. I can start allready thinking how to use that 2500 :cool:, it is allmost in my pocket.

For once I actually understand why they are having continues on a free tournament.
$10 000 is a lot of money and they have to take it from somewhere. I don't think they just have that laying around to give away:)

They are so generous all the time so I think it's okey. See it as whatever you want to see it like. Take a Jackpot! ;)

Don't agree with this, of course they have it laying around somewhere, anyone can win 10,000 any hour any day so they have to have it laying around somewhere.

IMO its shouldn't be called a FREEROLL, and to a casino that big 10,000 is a drop in the ocean.
 
Thanks for the tourney, I'm out already. TBH I think that's too many continues also - if they did like 50 continues then everyone would probably buy them all, but with that many a lot of people won't even bother buying in once.

I know I wouldn't, but since I don't currently have a way to deposit anyhow it doesn't matter!

Thanks for the feedback and positive comments regarding the audit.

I fully appreciate that continue options are not the favourite of a lot of players, but for 'public' tournaments such as this they do work well. Don't worry, the CM exclusive tournaments that we do will still have the preferred format. :)

I forgot about that Gold Factory slot - it's fun.

Just had my go and did alright but pretty far out of the money.

You get a completely free entry with the option to buy more if you like. Where's the problem? You could hit the top pay on your first three spins that you'd never get with a million re-buys.

I just spoke to laura via live chat, neteller are down but my transaction has gone through their end, but not payments department at your end. payments are going to sort this out for me. I also told laura its the live chat on the log in download that was just timing out. I went on the webpage and that worked fine. ty anyway mark just awaiting an e mail as to when you receive the £200 off neteller.

It didn't work for me. Unlike the rest that have to be claimed after the deposit, this was to be automatically credited. This didn't work, and the next time I logged in the offer had vanished and back was the "play 32Red mobile" page that indicates there is currently no promotion.

It is all working now with the new "customer service award" promo, which is back to the usual deposit and then claim. Once the claim failed because I had not deposited, yet I HAD, so there does appear to be an underlying technical issue. The 200% one did not need to be claimed, so unlike the other, I could not log on later to see if the claim would work after leaving it a while.

There was a previous automatic credit bonus that didn't credit as expected after the deposit.

The problem with these 999 continue tournaments is that the top prize is not so much won but "bought", thus excluding most players from a realistic chance of winning. With 999 continues, even hitting the highest payout possible during the free opening round is not anywhere near good enough.

999 continues means that any variance is swamped by the longer term RTP, so effectively one is buying the RTP by buying all 999 continues.

There ARE players with both the time and money for this, and at least there is still a tiny profit to be had with all 999 continues, unlike some where the cost of just ONE player buying all the continues is greater than the total of all prizes.

If a PUBLIC tournament with a 10K pool can't even attract 100 entries then it is a clear indication that MGS really need to LISTEN to what players are saying about MPV in general, and actually DO something about it in order to get players playing the tournaments again.

I actually won my first ever MG tourney prize on 32 red last month - a '90 minute freeroll' on Loaded. I was one of the top 5 and got 10$ cash. It came out as about £6.90 in my account, and thinking it was bonus money I played it on IR at 30p a spin.

I must admit I'd like to see a big 'lottery' tournament. Say £2.50 entry, minimum 1000 players, and you just have one go, no rebuys or extra minutes possible, with say 1000/500/250/100/75/50/25 (£2000) for the top 7 or pro-rata if more than 1000 players. I presume the casino would take the other 20%. Prizes are minimal for 'quick' tourneys otherwise.

If Microgaming could address the issues with the MPV then it may become popular enough to run these "one shot" tournaments with large prizes. The current problem is that not enough players would register to cover the prize.

The small prize tournaments that 32Red sometimes offer actually run at a loss to them, and are really a marketing spend. It gets people in the casino, and where they are free as well as "one shot", it could be the ONLY chance for a player that day who's deposit budget has already been lost.

This is an interesting tournament, and with the bunch of kids not sue back for 3 weeks, and 11 days left to run, I may decide to "buy" the top prize so at least a CM member ends up winning it. Maybe the double, take out the Slotsmeister for the second time this year just to flex my muscle and show the pair of upstarts who's REALLY the boss around here when it comes to these wagering events:p

$2.50 buys you 20000 coins. Do that 40 times costs you $100...
Only a few minutes play, so you're virtually compelled to spin at 1000 coins maximum (in case you hit a bonus round).

Personally I'm way more likely to use addons if there is less available from the start.

Take the ladbrokes tournaments as an example, only 5 addons for each player but a hell of a lot of people (including myself) use all 5 , rather than a few people using hundreds, hundreds of addons are still made but from a much larger playerbase, this makes for a much fairer game and I'm sure ladbrokes still made a nice profit after prizes were covered.

Did my first deposit at 32red yesterday,100 Euro's and claimed the 160 Euro bonus.
260 quid gone in like 30 minutes,all machines I tried were stone cold. :eek2::rolleyes:
Also the download version of the casino kept closing on me with weird error messages so de-installed that as it wasn't my cup of tea.
Anyhow my first experienced wasn't a whopping one as the flash version of casino has all the slots mixed up,not in alphabetical order so took a while to find my favourite slots.

got 2nd place

hi played and got some good wins but missed out by just under 16000,the run started at the begging when i hit some big wins and it put me in a position whereby i started buying in and once your in your in anyways,before long was top where i stayed till just over an hour to go when zjh overtook me.i ran out of buyins the night before and sat here tonight hopeing that zjh and westcliffe ran out of buys ins 1 out 2 did,had some big wins on the way biggest was over 718000 in the free spins,wil never play this slot again sick of the sight of it:mad:anyway congrats to zjh as bruce forsyth says goood game good game,on another note when i had played my last buy in on wednesday night i still had £32.00 left so went to my favs isis 1st and hit 3 scatters which repeated and gave me some good wins,onto supe it up hit scatters after 27 spins and that paid well also ended up cashing out £750 so not a complete blow out,now to turn my tourney win into a bigger pot:lolup:once again congrats to 32red and zjh.:thumbsup:

It must be very exciting to buy a tourney prize. The fact that it can actually be done makes it very clear that these tournaments are becoming nothing more than high roller wagering races/leaderboard.

I would happily spend $50-100 if it was a rebuy only tournament with no continues, or with 5 continues etc, but there is absolutely no point in spending that amount if it is going to get you nowhere. Perhaps the casinos think the high rollers will not sink big dollars into it if they don't have the chance to "buy" a big prize? I would think, however, that hundreds or thousands of players spending $100 would be far better than a few people spending a thousand or two. If casinos were serious about these tourneys being something that ALL players could enjoy, they would do this.
 
I agree. I had frustrating experiences in such tournaments. I remember having an abbsolute monster hit once which I never got before or after, let alone in real play. But the tourney had so many conitnues that I still finished out of prizes. With no continues I would have been 1st probably because it was 5 wilds in free spins. That was really really frustrating and since then I never ever play these kind of torunaments any more.

Casinos are in denial. How much proving do they require before they accept the truth of the situation regarding these "infinite continue" or "infinite rebuy" tournaments.

They are STILL in denial about the infernal problem with server lag across the entire MPV system, something that is back with a vengeance today. Given how tightly time constrained MPV is (and unnecessarily so), server lag is a MAJOR problem, even when it adds only a second or so per spin on average.

They also have the potential to rake in massive profits from MPV, but it relies on attracting many fools that don't understand that such tournaments are bought, not won. The money pumped in by these lower ranked players offers them no realistic chance of getting ANY prize, let alone the top few.

The RTP of these tournaments is a closely guarded secret, and is a fixed value that can only be determined at the end. The more players they can pull in, and the more continues they can persuade the high rollers to buy, the lower the overall RTP becomes. Slots are 95% RTP, but these MPV tournaments have the potential to produce a massive house edge, yet with no real risk of players winning overall as they simply cancel tournaments that don't make them money, in some cases 15 minutes after the END!! This gives them potential reward with no real risk of ending up down on the deal. With slots, a lucky series of hits by players can hit a casino hard, even bring it down if too tightly funded.

Although it can't be calculated, it should be possible to roughly estimate the total amount of money taken in from the continues, and then work out the overall RTP of a single tournament. With a large body of players buying a significant number of continues, one can say that the total of all the scores + the total of unused coins represents roughly 95% of the coins bought. No rebuys being available makes such a calculation more accurate as there are fewer unknowns such as the number of rebuys bought by players, and that fact that unused coins data gets overwritten with rebuys.

There is one such tournament running now, and since the thing is so damn laggy at the moment, I may make a start on this analysis.
 
well the one shot tourneys certainly do well, and these have no rebuys and no addons, I would hazard a guess as to why so many people play these - because its an even chance for any player to win.

Weekly one shot (#703887) - $5 entry, $500 prize pool, 212 players so far ($1060 taken) still over 2 days to go.

Great example.

In this case, the casino should be increasing the prize pool with a % of the buy-ins over $500. The players get a juicier pot, attracting more buy-ins, and the casino still makes a nice chunk.

Another example of greediness and scant regard for players.

This tallies with my "guesswork" a while back that these MPVs operate at very low RTP, lower than 50% in some cases.

The design of this tournament means you have an EXACT figure, and solid proof that this is a "rip off". MPV has the facility to grow the prize fund as more money flows in, and it should be used. It's just greed because this is a 50% RTP or less bet, and players are not really noticing. They would certainly notice if the regular lobby slots were set to 50%. I bet this is why they have masked enough data to prevent the overall RTP being calculated, whilst still giving players what appears to be enough data to encourage them to play.

It is obvious that all the sit n go tournaments are set to 90% RTP, whereas 95% or more is the setting for regular slots play.

It is clear that too many players still compete for too low a prize pool, so either rebuys should boost the pool, or we should discourage participation such that a fairer RTP can be delivered to those that do still want to play.

If the RTP for more of these can be fairly well estimated, and they are all as shocking as this example, Microgaming will be FORCED to do something about it, or watch as MPV withers and dies as a "cash cow" for the casinos.
