100% agree.
And thats just one of the many ways in which this forum has saved me money.
I know playing in such a tourney is futile, because I know VWM exists.
Something 19Kengi did not know.
Given that I have largely given up on these, it was a well considered risk.
I am only playing so that I can demonstrate the point that first place is BOUGHT, not "won" on these tournaments with a silly number of continues.
I have 649 continues left out of 999, so Mark is also right in saying that it IS possible to PROFIT from these silly tournaments provided the odds are right.
I deliberately held back so that I could sprint to the finish WITHOUT having to use more than 500 continues. Every time I played a little, so did 19Kengi, who seemed to want to keep his lead above 150,000 at all times.
I decided to use a strategy of deliberate slowness, but with an intimidating build up of coins, now exchanged in the space of a few hours for an intimidating lead.
It's not just the odds being "right" in this one, but the TIMER too
I could do 100+ spins per session (including free spins), so calculated that i could use 4500 coins at full speed in 7 minutes, but with only 1500 fresh coins allocated, I could use 3000 from "reserves" each session.
reserves + score + continues needed*1500 needed to approach 19Kengi's score + a reasonable margin. This was the optimum point at which to begin the sprint finish.
Previous observations lead me to believe 19Kengi played early and late in the day, maybe having to go out in the afternoon (work?); hence the sprint THIS afternoon, so that when 19Kengi checked back, the deed was done
$3500 spent so far in continues, prize $5000 - potential profit of $1500 for 10days intermittent "work", not bad really
Naturally, without such a bankroll in the first place, no chance.
Even 5 wilds DURING free spins would be a mere 150,000 coins - so to win from the free first session alone, this would have to happen FOUR times within the first 3000 coins - somewhat unlikely.
