    Hi,

I have been playing blackjack (Vegas Strip Gold Series) in free mode at 10Bet casino for a while now . Today, I made my 1st deposit only to find that real play table conditions ARE NOT THE SAME. I was expecting table limits to be the same as the free mode game, namely 1-200 NOT 10-2000. That is 10 times (10X) more the minimum bet. How can that be fair?

I guess I can withdraw my money but it seems to me that the free mode table limits should be offered in real money games. Had I known the limits were 10x more, I never would have made a deposit. Unfair practice.

I just received the 10Bet casino response:

«Dear Denis, thank you for reaching us. There is a difference between the free mode and the live play. Unfortunately we cannot change the rules or change the bets once they have been set. You can see the information on that on the very game. Thank you for the understanding. Best regards, Bob»

    My response:

There is nothing in the free mode version to lead the consumer to believe that it would be different from the real mode game. The limits in fun mode are clearly announced 1-200, but nothing else stated, no messages like: «expect differences in real money game», nothing to that effect is mentioned. There is a huge difference between 1-200 and 10-2000 table limits, that is 10x more. I haven’t made any bets, only made a deposit. I feel I’ve been had by misrepresentation.

(the casino rep for 10Bet on this board has been informed initially, I have yet to hear from him, I'm still waiting...)

    Hi picassocat,

please note that the reason for the increase in bet limits from fun mode to real mode in your case is based on your currency (ZAR), which is automatically adjusted because of the lower value.

If you would play in $ or €, the minimum bet limit would be 1, same as in fun mode.

However, having said that you can always check limits of each game in real mode, even before depositing after you registered an account. In addition, in fun mode you are playing for fun credits, so limits can always change when playing in real money mode.

Thanks for your interest in our site and i hope you will give it another shot.

    Best regards,
    David

    Hi David,

First, thanks for your reply. I still have a problem with such a practice. When a player registers with 10Bet he or she MUST chose a currency of his or her choice, and thus, not know what the BJ table limits will be (???). As I understand your answer, the limits will vary according to the currency played: ridiculous. Microgaming must have enough confidence in its software that they know they still hold the house advantage and they will make money regardless of the player’s currency.

The fun mode has 1-200 unit limit and there is absolutely no mention that these limits will change in a real money game, OR, like you said, if the player chooses such and such a currency (there are 19 currencies to choose from). I chose ZAR (South African Rand) because I want to play low limit BJ with some sort of stake to make it interesting.

I, the consumer, am rightfully expecting the limits of the fun mode to be honored in real mode, unless otherwise noted. I didn’t pull my chips away from the table and pulled my money out. I made a deposit in good faith and really feel I have been had by misrepresentation. There is no bonus attached to my deposit, so I can withdraw anytime I want, which is want will probably happen, but I find this issue to be a bad business practice. Nothing here against you personally David, but this MUST CHANGE. Put yourself in the consumer’s shoes.

I thank you in advance for being the 10Bet ambassador and your help is appreciated.

No resolution yet, what should I do?

It’s been almost a month now since the 10Bet rep first reply, and the issue hasn’t been resolved. Fun mode blackjack limits are not the limits in real money game. The problem is similar to this one:

You approach a BJ table in a real casino, you look at the rules and the table limits (1-200). You decide to sit, you put your money on the table, the croupier kindly takes your money and gives you chips, but at that very moment, when you receive your chips, the table limits jumps to 10-2000?? You go:

«Hey wait, that wasn’t the limit a few seconds ago?»

That is the problem I’m faced with. What should I do, it will be a month in a few days that this issue has been raised and there is no resolution. Any suggestions?

    Hi Denis,

i'm sorry if you still don't feel that this matter is resolved and i also don't know what kind of resolution you are expecting from us.

Unfortunately we will not be able to change the limits for you.

If i may also say, i respectfully disagree with your comparison to a real casino. In a real casino there is no "fun mode", there is only "real mode". As i mentioned in my previous post, you could have checked the table limits, after logging in to the site and opening the game. The fun mode only opens up when you are not logged in or are not registered.

There is no need to deposit in order to check the bet limits of the real money mode, just to log in. It is well known around the industry that when playing in fun mode, the stakes are all fun credits and so is the balance. So limits can also vary between fun and real mode, even though as i said before in your case it was the currency.

Going back to the real casino example - if a table has a limit of 1 Euro, you can't expect it also to be 1 ZAR, which has a completely different value only because you brought ZAR to the casino, right? The limit will still be 1 EUR.

We have no intention to misguide anyone with our fun mode offering. Fun mode is there, so the player can check out a game and see if he likes it before playing for real money or even before signing up to the site. So table limits should always be checked in real money mode.

I see that your funds are still in your account. As you said you can withdraw them at any time, if you feel that you have been mislead.

    Best regards,
    David

    Hi Denis

I've been playing Microgaming for nearly 10 years now. I checked my account at 32Red, min bet for me is $5 CAD. I don't have any Microgaming accounts in USD.

As a fellow Canadian, I suggest you are really best off playing in our own currency, as foreign exchange fees (both coming and going) will result in the banks essentially increasing the house edge.

It's important to carefully read the Terms and Conditions of each casino. Most will allow any player to choose USD or Euros, or their own currency.

I've been treading the boards here at CM for close to a decade, and while I know there are some places with low limit Roulette (10 cents), I haven't seen anyone discussing 10 cent blackjack.

I feel 10Bet is being quite fair in permitting you to withdraw the entire amount without penalty. Some sites insist on a 1x rollover, or charge a fee otherwise.

I know Casino LacLeamy min tables are $10, and those are only available weekdays I think.

I am confident that David is unable to change the table limits for you, not merely unwilling. Today 10ZAR is worth about 85 cents CAD, so those are actually pretty low limits if you choose to play it out.

Real mode in online casinos is in "credits" not currency. No matter what the currency, the real mode limits in credits are usually the same. Demo mode is supposed to mimic real money mode, and this should also faithfully reflect the limits, as well as the game rules and RTP. Indeed, this is a REQUIREMENT here in the UK for UK licenced casinos.

One problem with having, say, different limits between demo and real money is that players will wonder "what else is different, lower RTP in real money mode perhaps?". If the seed of doubt is placed in a players' mind because of something they have seen, they are less likely to believe the assurances from the casino that it's merely "cosmetic".

It seems more common for players to complain about a LOWER max bet in real money play than they have seen in a demo, and here they feel that the lower limit has been imposed to "stop them having a fair chance at winning". Even worse have been where casinos have changed a players' real money limits to ones they feel are designed to stop them from winning, or to throw them off a lucky streak they were having with the higher limits.

Slotastic did exactly that with me: I was rolling with 1.00-250.00 limit and they whacked it down to 1.00-50.00 stating some bonus hogwash except that I don't use bonuses. Not ever.

As far as the OP, no offense, but I gotta side with the rep on this one. AFAIK,you can log in at any time to a real game w/o depositing. (May be different at that casino - IDK, I can't play there :(

Also, I would do as Jasmine suggests. She knows her S**t ;)

*Edit: I had to add this, Jasmine: If there was such a thing as 10 cent BJ I'd never leave the house  And I'm talking about the GAME:D

It is true that one can see the table limits once logged-in at 10Bet, but in order to log-in you must first register and have chosen your currency. As I understand, the limits will vary according to the currency chosen, so then, there is no way of knowing in advance what these limits will be (and you won’t even know that the limits will vary according to currency chosen). The fun mode rules and limits should be the same as the real money game, period. This is a lack of transparency. At the very least there should be a warning that comes with the fun mode: «table limits will vary according to your chosen currency» and provide a few examples with high and low currency values. I shall withdraw without even playing at 10BET, but I still think it’s a bad business practice (and it’s misleading). Loto-Québec (where I live) is online (Espace Jeux) and their fun mode is identical to their real money game, that’s how it should be. I hope David (10Bet rep) that such a warning, at the very least, can be made possible; it would be a better business practice.

    Regards,

    Denis

(ps David, can I withdraw my funds without a penalty, and if so, I do I go about this? Thank you in advance)
