Youtube and Ads

Youtube has become so infested with Ads it has become extremely annoying to surf it.

Today I was trying to listen to a few songs and there were so many ads, I decided to look for a solution to remove them.

In any event - I have Google Chrome installed and I found an Add-on called 'ScrewAds'. I installed it on my browser as an extension and Youtube is now FREE of Ads and everything is much faster!!

It's actually Friggin' awesome!!:yahoo:

I agree with you, it is getting out of hand and I understand the need for people to be making money especially small film makers etc. The problem is the adds are just about on anything and everything (even copyrighted material) and its just plain frustrating.

The best add on I found was Add Block Plus this thing is a god send and I can still see my site banners etc

What ads does that Add-on cater for? I think I saw it in the Chrome Store but I was specifically looking to block YouTube Ads...

ATM I have only tested it on Youtube and Facebook and it works great, Facebook looks a bit funny without 15 adds in your face

Ads are becoming such a pain in the butt... can't even watch an LOLCats vid without a damn commercial first. One of the reasons I pretty much abandoned TV and spent more time on the web... was to get AWAY from ads. Sheesh...

Well I assure you that if you use the Plugin on Chrome it's like having a brand new PC... Such an awesome experience without the Ads

So this gets rid of the ads at the start of a video? If so, thats very cool. I never watch any video with a full ad at the beginning anymore. Quite happy to have them on a page so I can get on watching the video though.

Anyone using Vimeo? Seen it cropping up a lot recently. Is it as good as YT?
