Yes, I have been getting it over and over. I would love to give my losses to charity but I would feel better if one of the pertinent casinos would contact me about it instead of receiving it in this spam-like fashion. Fwiw.

Edit:Reading the mail again I see that it probably is an affiliatesite where you have to sign up to a casino, and a part of their revenue says go to charity. I say no way I would go for it.

I remember asking a casino( that shall remain anonymous) about donating my winnings from a free chip ($250) to a disaster. (So many disasters that, that I would have to go back and see WHICH disaster it was) and they said, 'no'.

But Casinomeister, headed up a disaster fund and it was awesome.


Maybe the Casinomeister, himself, could shed some light on how this could work?

It looks like the affiliate is donating their commissions. I'm not sure where this registered not-for-profit is registered, and usually any non-profit that raises money for another charity is permitted expenses, salaried positions, etc.

So the affiliate may be incorporated as a non-profit, and receive a salary as Excutive Director.

I know that locally the company that telemarkets circus tickets is a non-profit... approximately 40 cents of each $12 ticket purchase ends up with the Police Association.

In Ontario, the salaries of directors of not-for profit agencies must be registered, and annual reports of the percentage of gross funds raised and actual funds placed must be filed, and this information is accessible to the public.

I've served on the board of directors (volunteer board member) of a non-profit agency, and worked for two as an employee in the past.

overpayment to charity

FWIW, around 5 years ago I was sent an extra 2500 by what is considered a dodgy casino group (I don't want to mention it) and I called them and told them and the manager in charge just said "keep it." I told him I would prefer then to give half (I was a bit greedy, I admit) to the Red Cross (it was around the time of an earthquake disaster I believe) and I donated the money and named the donation "in honor of" the casino's name

Let's say the donations are from the owner's commissions. Looks to me like he's attempting to steal other affiliates' commissions.

Here he's asking for donations to help stem the scourge of gambling in Moldova.

So, he's running a website that makes him money, some of which might go to a charity of the player's choice, and he's actively poaching other affiliates' players. AND he's attempting to collect money for a charity that may or may not exist, but he's not using the so-called donations from his gambling site to fund that charity.

I took a look at the site and it appears at a glance to be any ole affiliate website promoting gambling sites for profit but using Donate and Charity as a gambit.

They say, clear your cookies and click on our links and all the money generated will go to charity, really?

Now if they said we're going to keep X amount for the operation of this site, staff and X % will go to the charity of your choice that would make more since. Also, they need to have a backend system showing what you the player has generated and that system should allow you to send the money to the charity yourself and not them.

No phone number, no address, = NO GO!

Maybe 32 Red, or Club World can provide attestation on this outfit since they're promoting them openly but something's unscrupulous IMO.

Agreed, if they're trying to poach affiliates then the casino reps should be made aware of it.

Chayton, thanks for bringing this to my attention.

From my point of view we (the ClubWorld Group if casinos) have not been approached or informed about such an operation. It would seem to be an affiliate who is playing the charity card to generate traffic to their site. This is purely speculation at this point as I know nothing about what this site is doing, nor have I had any contact with the affiliate involved.

More digging will be done on this one and if it is found out to be ropey, you'll see our links disappear pretty fast.

I hope it is legitimate and run by someone ethical but it's a(nother) gamble. The idea itself isn't a bad one but it would have to be done properly, transparently and with the participating casino's consent IMO.

If it's legit, then why isn't the money going to the guy's personal "protect Moldova from gambling" charity? And if gambling is so evil, why is he a gambling affiliate to begin with? AND, it's certainly not ethical to poach players. I'm simply not seeing how this guy is any different from any other shady affiliate.
