Having just done a search for 'best uk online casinos',the first link I clicked on listed the supposed best ten.Of these, six are on the 'not recommended' or 'no-can-do' pages here at Casinomeister or have received disparaging reviews from members.I would always use CM as my first port of call when trying out a new casino but it just goes to show how an unwary newcomer can be misled.

Most websites that rank in Google are affiliate sites. There are two types of affiliate: those who play and those who don't. Those who play are better positioned to know who's good while those that don't rely on other people's opinions or in many cases sell placements on their sites to the casinos with no real consideration for whether they are good or not.

If you read the reviews, its quite easy to tell a "player" from a non-player and that may help you decide whether the information more suits your needs. In the Top 10 results of that search you reference, compare Gambling.com to Casino Manual and you'll probably start to see what I mean. The former is strictly a business, the latter is produced by a player. If it's factual information like bonuses you are after then I guess it gets a bit harder to distinguish. But you're right: the Meister's Link Outdated / Removed is a good way to cross-check.

That will produce a ranking based on which casino is best at SEO, rather than which is the best for players to patronise. I made a couple of mistakes like this when I started, finding the notorious "Crystal Palace" to be the "No 1 casino to play at".

SEO is the process by which crappy sites manipulate Google in order to appear more highly ranked than better sites. To counter this, some advise to discard the first page of results and look further down.

Having found "a good casino", the next step advised is to search it by name, but adding terms like "problems", "complaints", etc. This will bring up more in the way of reviews and forum posts. This still leaves the problem of deciding which review sites and forums to trust, and this is something best learned through experience.

We could tell you that Casinomeister can be trusted, but ask the same question on a rogue site, and you will still get told you can trust them. Asking people you know is best, but for most people, they don't have many, if any, social contacts that are willing to be the first in the peer group to confess this "deadly sin" to the rest.

A site that rates casinos based on how easy a steal their bonuses are is not likely to be rating the casinos properly. Using such a site is risky, and often leads to players experiencing problems getting paid.

I am assuming that that link you clicked on was a forum like here or a online casino page? If so yes indeed you can not trust most of the forums or casino pages out there. Not exactly sure how the sites work but I am sure everyone has different affiliate %'s which means some sites will list the one that they get the most share from in a top spot?

No,it was purely a search using the Bing search engine. If you do this,it produces many casino review sites but it is telling that they all have different casinos listed in different orders in their so-called 'top tens'.I was just musing that the majority of newbies would not be aware of a forum like CM and unless they were lucky enough to discover it,would be likely to go to one of these review sites and take as gospel, that their Number 1 casino is going to be the best place to play online.

I have played and cashed out of alot of different casinos and i never had any issues what so ever. Well the only issues ive had a few times are slow cashouts, but i have always been paid in full. Even some on the "No can do list" and so on here.

My rules are as follows:

ONLY and i mean ONLY play at casinos that have games from the major providers: NetEnt,Microgaming and WMS. (Heard alot of crap about Playtech casinos and RTG and i have no experience from them). To me there seams to be less problems with NetEnt casinos.

I only sign up for new casinos to get the SUB. My regular play i keep to the big multi platform casinos like: Unibet,Maria,Betsafe,Betsson,Nordicbet and so on. (This is also casinos that are owned by the biggest brands so you are safe as long as u dont violate any terms) These brands also usually pay very fast! Nordicbet paid me 117 000 NOK(14500 €) in 5 min after i requested the WD
