Why would a casino eliminate a deposit method for someone?

I'm tryin to understand this because it's like don't they want someone's money in way they can get it? End of an era for me, spent years on slotocash and spent thousands, won thousands, it was my favorite casino to date... And they just went ape shit on my ability to deposit with a credit card.. But why?

Either way it's disheartening.

@Deanna I know you use uptown Deanna, they're connected to Sloto... Have they ever removed your CC deposit methods?

Surely using a credit card to a casino is classed as a cash advance so the bigger question is why on earth would you want to use a credit card to deposit?

The UK banned credit cards for casino deposits years ago and rightly so IMO.

So maybe it’s something casinos globally are catching up to?

Sometimes sites just change what payment methods they accept. Lamabet which was just reviewed by casinomeister used to take interac for example but has seemingly removed that recently as part of a crypto focused approach.

Do they still take debit cards on your account?

It's just easier however it's not technically a CC, it's a PayPal debit card... Because I've gotten fucked by their processors one to many times what I do is I load money onto my PayPal debit card like 50 bucks, deposit and it has no backup account so nobody can suck funds out of an open account. It just works nice for me and has been for years now.

Every other casino group takes a CC, redcherry, inetbet, spinfinity, on and on... I deposit just fine at those places. This is just a recent situation with the Sloto group.

Nope that's the thing they even told me they just want me to use another method, it went away two weeks ago and then came back and then went away again the other day. They just flatout removed the option and it's just their choice.. I guess I just wish I had a reason or understanding other then them just forcing it.

Not sure about the exact specifics in this case but it is something casinos do.

Used Unibet / Skrill for years.

One day (about a year back now) they randomly removed my access to both Skrill and Paysafe card deposits, yet I can still if I wish to do so, use my Visa Debit card.

Wife, same house, same IP, same casino etc, still has access to all of these deposit methods ?????

I mean nothing is different, I'm only one that uses the casinos so shouldn't be anything there. What sucks is I guess loyalty to these places means nothing, been spinning here since like 2017 or so, put 80% of my money into Sloto and this is how they repay me.

Again I am partially guessing here but I feel loyalty doesn't come in to it.

More likely a compliance, business decision (global) or similar.

Would you share if you do get to the bottom of it as it would be interesting to know what's happened here.

Definitely will do. I'm tryin to see if there's still a Sloto rep around, I used to deal with Georgina and she was great... But something tells me it's all changed and that sucks.

The thing that is interesting is slotastic did the same thing and I said close my account, and they then put the CC option back... But then took it away so it's like they're all just playing some sort of game here.

A few ideas I can think of:
  • cost - depending on playstyle, the card fees (particularly with credit cards) may be higher than they are willing to absorb;
  • legality - off-shore providers may not be allowed to offer VISA and MC services for gambling, and use an "underground" network to provide this service - so they're playing a game of cat and mouse with the payment provider which can impact availability;
  • commercial - the agreements between businesses will change over time, and they may not be happy with the new terms, so will try and push players towards better options. This happens elsewhere as well - remembering Amazon UK advertising they would stop supporting VISA Credit Cards until VISA caved in (which they did).
Some of these can impact all customers, some will only impact specific customers.

So it's interesting... Slotocash without even tryin to keep me closed my account per request.

However, uptown aces sent an email saying (before you close your account let us review the situation).... Which is odd given they are connected, when I lost my CC deposit method on Sloto it was gone for uptown aces as well.

But that's why I'm saying this isn't anything really to do with a global casino change, it's like they for some reason picked my account to remove the option... And that's why it's frustrating because they aren't being honest why or they haven't even informed me.

So I'll see what uptown aces does but that's interesting they're still wanting me to keep my account open.

Just a thought, nothing more....

Have you recently taken out any form of finance, from something small like a new CC or personal loan to something bigger, like car finance or even a mortgage??

Basically anything that may have affected your credit score or financial standing?

Nope, nothing. But I mean even if I did they aren't privy to such info tho I wouldn't think? Especially being overseas etc..

Ive been banned on multiple ocassions on certain stuff over the years actually.

Once a long time ago with paysafecard that banned me (not casino specific though, just in general) after a ''random security check'' in which they wanted to see the paper ticket with the pincode on it - but i already used it in full, so it was somewhere in the binbag a week before them asking.. result: failed security check, got banned by them lol. Bit ridiculous to expect me to save them? why would i keep a worthless piece of paper, but ok.

I used Skrill/Neteller ALOT - and on alot of casinos i loved depositing, gambling 1/2x the deposit, withdrawing, then deposit again. But this was due to ridiculously high cash bonuses the VIP manager would give based on your spendings.. the more i'd deposit, the higher my spendings etc etc. Safe to say multiple casinos banned that option because of them having to deal with the hefty %s Skrill takes on each deposit (and therefore being able to make me such generous cashback offerings)

many casinos on Paypal I get this massage, only one casino works fine

So I think the difference is maybe using the debit card, not sure, it acts as a regular debit so long as there's money in there or it has a backup source it is fairly open for usage. I been using it for years at like most casinos and never had any issues outside of the standard processor weirdness we see.

The only thing that is different is out of the clear blue it seems Sloto/uptown put a block on my card. And they haven't said why, so what was weird was when I went to deposit it would decline nonstop but then go thru sometimes after 2 attempts, sometimes after 5 attempts, it was so dumb... But the card never had those issues ever, and worked perfectly on all other casino groups so I don't get it.

I won a lot at Sloto, no bonuses just my own money...and it feels this is their way of pushing me out.

I think if they don't want your custom they wouldn't mess about and just make sure you can no longer give it to them.

I have a weird one going on at one of the 2 White hat gaming sites id occassionally deposit at.
it has my card details saved for quickness, which used to work everytime if I clicked on deposit/visa and selected my saved card details from the drop down box for the deposit option. But it declines the transaction everyime now if I do that.
Yet, If i select 'deposit wih new card' but enter the same card details of that which is saved as my normal deposit option, my normal deposit option which now always gets declined, then ig works.
Naturally i didn't bother raising this with live chat, i ceartinly havn't got the energy for how that conversation will go.

Sorry, I know it's of no help. But, like your issue , it's weird, since it WAS working fine for a year or 3.

That sounds like what I was experiencing leading up to this, my card for years worked fine.. Occasionally had a wonky decline or two but that's just normal.. Well like 3 or 4 months ago it started to just decline nonstop, very frustrating and annoying. Could go to other casinos and it worked. So I don't get it... It was like they put a block on my card.

I mean have casinos done thjs when people win to much? Is that a thing?

Were you using the actual PayPal debit card tho?

Like not sure what the group is called but whoever is inetbet/ladyluck/redcherry etc... I can deposit as much as I want and it works, never a decline which is nice. But I guess it's deck media for Sloto? Something changed badly.

Like justdoit already pointed out, it could be something to do with PayPal banning the merchant. It happens a lot to me in the past until I started using alternatives like gift card (prepaid).

Ever tried using crypto for deposits? It prevents the block from happening from the crypto side of things.

If this was a thing, then they would just limit your account rather than block a payment method, I would think.

Well the thing about PayPal is this if it was my end they would I'd assume say "your card is blocking us, we haven't down anything"... Know what I mean?

They are from what I gather determining if they want to give me CC option back as if they removed it for whatever reason.

I'd use btc if it wasnt so high on fees maybe, but I mean it was bad when it was 60k now at 100k or whatever I can't imagine them now. I just don't maneuver thru crypto like most seem to do, never latched onto it overall really.

I meant direct deposit of crypto, as in using a crypto wallet like Electrum. Then you never need to worry about getting blocked from your end.

It is high fees if you use a hosted wallet (as in, a company that manages your BTC for you so something like coinbase wallet where they rip you off the fees). But if you use your own crypto wallet, the fees have always been low. I use Electrum and even at 100k now I am paying about 6 cents (that's just because of BTC price). If you use other crypto, like USDT, which any crypto casino usually accepts in addition to BTC, the fees are always in cents. Its way cheaper for me long term than loading up my paypal or loading up giftcards like I do now.

Don't worry it took me a long time to latch on, but these days there's a lot more help and guidance online, and the apps and wallets are way easier to use now.
