Question Why do Playtech games use such heavy internet bandwidth?

Recently I have been playing Playtech games - both internet based and also off downloaded installed casinos. I have noticed that my download usage is massive in comparison to MG and NetEnt games.

For example after a couple of hours playtime last night I checked my download usage (I use a mobile broadband dongle which is limited to 15GB per month) and saw with dismay that I had accumulated 3GB of downloaded data . This is 20% of my monthly allowance.

Does anyone know why Playtech games are so bandwidth heavy compared to other software providers?

AFAIK the size of a download Playtech casino is around 3 GB (judging by William Hill Casino). And I think Playtech casinos do not share the downloaded files. So if you played the given casino for the first time, the whole casino downloaded while you were playing.

Sorry I perhaps should have made it clearer - this was not the first time I had played. Still if the casino downloads everything then I suppose that it will take a while to gather it all.

They have probably updated a game or games, hence a big download. If you go to start -> control panel -> uninstall a program you will see a list of your programs, including casinos together with the disk space the occupy. Note the size for a Playtech casino, and check again next week - it will be a different number, most likely a bigger one.

In any case 3GB cannot be a a gaming activity traffic, it's way too much. Keep looking at it. Also, I hate to ask, but are you sure you haven't picked a virus lately?
