What's Ya Weather At?

I'll just add, I think people may well be very thankful for global warming in a few hundred or so years when the next ice age is triggered...because it is very likely to be triggered sooner rather than later!

Extrapolation from previous glacial periods suggests we're due to be plunged back into a glacial period WITHIN 1500 years. A mere speck in time away. Could be even sooner if Yellowstone volcano goes off...

'
''The most wide reaching effect of a Yellowstone eruption would be much colder weather.
Volcanoes can inject sulphur gas into the upper atmosphere, forming sulphuric acid aerosols that rapidly spread around the globe. Scientists believe sulphuric aerosols are the main cause of climatic cooling after an eruption.''

We'll be all wanting to move south closer to the equator, it's a fascinating prospect - a new glacial ice age - that film a few years back was about that happening, would the hot areas of the planet get even hotter in an ice age I wonder? scrap that I've just looked it up, everywhere gets colder apparently, in a way you could see it happening so as to cool the hottest parts of the earth.

I used to be interested in the GAIA theory by james lovelock in the 90's, the earth self regulating itself, I can't remember a lot of it though now ...this planet is an amazing place, how it all works together to sustain life.
[I'm not sure why lots of other planets haven't got seas and plenty of water  ]

The dinosaurs died out, not sure the full reason is understood, but must've been due to some change on the earth, so we're not guaranteed a trouble free/human life friendly situation moving forward either.

Rain and Freezing rain tonight.
Bracing ourselves for Uber ice storm of the year.

I found a caterpillar on my doorstep today. Its January. We're supposed to be in a deep freeze and under a gazillion feet of snow ... sigh... but climate change is not real.

man, had such a rotten pressure headache last night; head was slamming, i felt freezing, had to crank the heat and all the fireplaces
had a 430am blazing hot shower for about an hr til i was melted jelly and finally passed out mercifully
calls for an extreme cold warning today, guess that's why
temperature has been all over the place...from pluses to calling for -24 today not including windchill

Welcome to the weird. 70 degree weather on Monday. Tornado warnings on Tuesday. Snow on Thursday. Hot on Friday...back to 70's . Snow on Sunday. Hot on Tuesday Etc. Today it is cold 47 degrees. I wonder will we be hot , cold or dodging tornadoes next week :eek2: :axeman2:

Large parts of England and Wales under water. I feel so sorry for people who have had their houses flooded out.

If we have a wet summer, some places will be in continued serious trouble with flooding this year.

Well In the north east we had warnings of biblical storms, winds that would blow your granny away and lightning.
We had a bit of heavy rain, some gusts that if where volatility based would be wonky wabbits and some impressive lightening.
Now we have a bit of a breeze.... the storm didn’t happen in Middlesbrough.

well, we were spoiled with a sort of mini-spring and sunshine and plus temps but going back into winter with a snowfall warning and dropping from +6 to -18 this week
slamming pressure headache; always do when a drastic shift

I get the same.
Worst is when a storm is coming.
The damn changes in barometric (??) pressure always gives me a headache.
Not really fair, since alot of people are not affected at all.

Still, its a pretty shitty superpower.

I have another shitty superpower.
I had rather large tonsils, wich were prone to get infections such as strep throat.
So during a couple of my teen-years i would get an almost unbearable pain in my throat every time i got a cold since they would swell up.

Since i removed them, ive become immune to the pain.
I can still get a sore throat, or strep throat etc, but the pain is like 1/10th of how it was back when i still had my tonsils, so it does not bother me at all.

That day, i turned into Notbotheredbysorethroatsanymore-man.
