Not sure if anone saw this/heard of this...

Not notifying the public that a photo shoot using a 747 Boeing jet and a fighter plane would be doing a low flyover in NYC is insane. Did they really think people have forgotten 911?

Just look at how much this "Photo Op" cost too. When did it become OK to spend over $300 grand on a photograph? What planet are we on? And I do not mean in a Republican/Democrat way so nobody needs to get their hackles up. I mean in a fiscal way. This figure just knocked me to the floor. It is outrageous! Louis Caldera, the genius behind the stunt is a former President of our largest University here in New Mexico. I think it is safe to say we are delighted he stepped down in 06.

The flight by the VC-25, a modified Boeing Co. 747, and two F-16 fighter jets cost $328,835, Air Force spokeswoman Vicki Stein said.

Three-Hour Mission

That includes $300,658 for the larger plane, which flew a three-hour mission, and about $28,178 for the F-16 jets, which flew 1.8 hours each, Stein said in an e-mailed statement.

Why they did not fly in helicopter? I thin it would be easier and cheaper and wouldnt couse such fear and panic. Realy, what did they thinking!!

It's more like WTF was the government thinking? They're the one that wanted this done for a "photo op"....

The FAA was just 'playing ball.' Indeed, they should have done the right thing and a) declined or b) chose some other city (DC maybe?) or c) let the people know well in advance wtf was going on. I can't believe they told the police NOT to tell the people...

I was there when it happened everyone got so scared some left the building. I work in Jersey City right across the Goldman Sachs Building. 911 left a bad feeling in my stomach for a long time. They did that with such bad taste. IMHO.

IMO there should be 2 places fined:

the FAA
the IDIOT THAT APPROVED THIS PHOTOSHOOT

actually, the idiot in question should not only be fined, but fired, as well....WITHOUT a lush government pension.
