Was just wondering I play at Spin Palace time to time and some other casinos that have never asked for I.D and I have made withdrawls. But was wondering being I have made some deposits with a credit card that has now expired and I no longer use and had the account closed as I got another card with better rates. What happens if they ask for this old credit card for I.D and I don't have it?

What planet are you on? expired cards simply don't work, you need to register the new one. The old one is done and dusted they have no care for it, it is the plastic it is but with no value, I doubt they need new I.D. you are an existing account holder?

The new card is from a different bank it is registered but being I have made deposits in the past with a different card can they ask for that being I made deposits with it but now is expired and I never renew it.
Hope Im being more clear.

On a less facetious note, I assume you mean if they ask for the credit card you made the actual deposits with back then? If you have it, it will be OK as it was valid when you made the deposits - if not a statement near the date of the last deposits. Remember a credit card proof is not for ID purposes but to prove the validity of your payments/deposits. If you have scanned it and sent it it protects the casino against chargebacks by providing irrefutable proof you made the deposits.
Any old transactions you made with the expired card whether deposits or w/d's will be archived and settled now and would not be subject to proof requests by the casino anyway.

Your old card is not usable it's expired the new one is fine when linked with a valid username, password and email address, is this not a simple concept to see?

I understand that............ my point was being that they have never asked for ID or credit verification, say in the future being that I did make deposit with this old card in the past could they request verification of it. Being I don't have the card of or any old statements could it be a problem? would they even ask verification of a old card?

Really not sure why you are being so obnoxious. The op asked a valid question. A simple answer would suffice.

The new card links to the account if it did not you would not be able to play, sorry if my tone seemed interdependent I will make amends.

The op is asking as to whether or not the casino is going to ask for a copy of the card. It is a valid concern as we have seen casinos ask for scans of old/expired/pre paid cards before that people simply do not have anymore.

I would jump on live chat before destroying the expired card and ask them if they will need a copy or if a statement will suffice if it arises down the track.

OP, If you have a copy of the old expired credit card. Scan a copy on file and save it. When sending in your forms. Send them a copy of the card as well. Let them know the card is no longer valid as it expired. But here's a copy for their records also.

In my experience an old card means nothing, as soon as the expiry date hits you have to prove once again who you are, submitting old credit card details as I.D. seems a nonsense and opens up a can of worms of confusion in the event of a high withdrawal.

In other words our records show this audit trail for a card that has now expired but using a new one from a new company that may use different terms and conditions on how the card is used, what is a valid transaction and what is not permitted, technically the op may be violating the terms and conditions of the credit agreement on the card that stipulates the use of the card to gamble is a misuse and an unnecessary risk of the account.

A typical example of a credit card is a maximum daily cash withdrawal of “X” amount but purchases, goods and services above and beyond the cash limit are allowed.

There is the services part where buying a bed for example for “X” amount is considered proper use of the card but using it to buy services that give short or long term risk and/or high risk to the consumer would be exempt as it would seem an irresponsible act on the card lender.

I am not here to deliberately step on peoples toes but sometimes you have say it how it is.

Actually, I've had several casinos asking for copies of old CCs, or even ones going waaaayyyyy back to my first deposit. For me, as I explain to them, I always and only use prepaid CCs - i use it, I chuck it. I used to keep them, until well, let's say the pile is pretty offensive lol.
In the end, the casinos have always been fine, and will take a scan (if needed) of my most recent card. If even that's been chucked, theyve foregone the procedure. Pretty much the casinos I play at now, know what a prepaid is, and dont bother with the scan at all

Without Prejudice

Upon reflection and speaking with friends on the phone I have to admit I was wrong, I don’t like being wrong but when this happens I have to hold my hands up and admit this.

Your point is valid; submitting out of date details seems absurd but sometimes is necessary, I am deeply sorry for my prior posts and hope you can accept my apologies.

Best regards

yes, they can ask by the old card.

do you have statetments of the old card or have you already destroyed all?
what i suggest: (at least here is possible to do that)

go to the bank of the old card and ask them for a statement or a copy before the casino ask, because casino may not ask, but they also can ask, and if they ask for it and you dont have it, and if a withdrawal is requested it will take more time.

if you already have it, than, it will be faster

I would actually argue, if they requested it after 6 months from the last purchase, that it is pointless as you can't dispute the charges anyway and they have already been paid by the processor.

If a casino did ask this after a year or something, I would stand my ground and even PAB if necessary.

Although it seems less and less common to be asked for CC faxbacks/copies these days, for me anyhow.

I thought that too but fell on to my sword after asking friends who had similar issues, myself I would refuse to even contemplate such an action, I see and still now disagree that old card details have a valid audit trial, they are past, spent and have no compliance to an existing bank account.

I’ve always been told by my bank to cut up and destroy expired cards even when they go through the transition where you can still use the old card but it is best to use the new one.

In my experience as soon as you use the new card, the old one has no relevance and is actually a security risk.

Sorry to go on

Well, if you all practice good housekeeping and scan your relevant credit cards, bills and ID at the time of signing up and keep 'em in a folder then it really isn't an issue if they ask months after the card has expired. You'll have the scan there ready. As Nifty says chargeback period is 180 days, so pointless them asking after that has expired, but even so if you manage your card online you'll still have access to the last 12 months of statements.

I'm sure this wont amaze you as you have probably heard it before but I had a dead credit card which I told this
particular casino about one time when it came to the crunch at verification up till then no probs but soon as some
money was requested at the all famous withdrawal then needed proof.
I was asked at this time to provide a teller stamped verification of my account because the old card was somewhere down
at the local dump lo.
Without mentioning any names of casinos that same card was simply deleted off the system its not a biggie if no dispute arises in a set amount of time its not really an issue but you can expect delay tactics if they can find an excuse aye ?

Asking ID upon first w/d is pretty standard practice, so don't worry. If the casino is accredited then they would be reasonable and wouldn't delay over something like this. Their system simply requires them to have a proof of all payment methods both historic and current.

Amen to that brother.

around 2006, a Playtech casino asked me for an old credit card to verify my existence. (LOL) anyway, i dont bet at Playtech anymore, so i aint sure. no one's requesting me for CC these days, just the ID and the proof of address is enough.

It's the CASINOS that don't see the common sense. There have been numerous complaints, particularly from US players using those "load once and chuck" gift cards, about casinos demanding the standard front and back copies of a string of such long dead cards before they will pay out. If the player mentions that they no longer have the card because it has long since expired and destroyed, some casinos treat this as a sign that the player is attempting to get away with not submitting the required documents for some nefarious reason, so they become even more difficult about verification, rather than accepting that once a card has expired, or a one use gift card has been emptied, it is generally destroyed in accordance with the issuer's own security procedures.

Making scans prior to destruction should not really be necessary, but can torpedo those casinos that use the inability to produce images of long expired cards as an excuse to stall or get anal over verification.

The wise player always thinks ahead, learning from the misfortunes of others, and then teaching the newbies.

There are probably alternatives, such as getting a bank reference letter, or copies of old statements, but the banks charge for this. Even an image library will not protect against the casino that tells the player the image is "unclear", and to scan it again.

There has to be a valid security reason behind the banks' insistence that expired cards are securely destroyed, rather than just chucked in the bin intact, even though they will no longer work once the new card has been used and tripped the bank systems into blocking the old, even if it still has a short period of overlap validity with the new.

I have been asked to do this MANY times

I cannot tell you how many times I have been asked to provide copies of my expired cards AND new "Faxback" documents to accompany them.

One very popular accredited RTG casino sent me an email after I made a withdrawal request many months ago that requested that I provided new documents and card scans for all of the credit cards (including prepaids) so they could process my withdrawal. This was because of a "new processor."

Another accredited group has also also asked me to provide copies of cards that have already been provided to them previously--in some cases more than once.

I have always held on to all of my old plastic--it's just a quirk I guess. Still I found myself digging through dresser drawers looking for the "temporary prepaid card" that did not bear my name and preceded the permanent card just to satisfy these requests.

I have always been able to comply, however, if I had not I am confident I would have with effort managed to get paid anyway--assuming I remained strong during the delay and didn't throw it back.

Finally, I scanned each and every one of my cards as an individual file which is backed up. Whenever I use a new card to deposit, I immediately complete the paperwork and send it to support. Still, inevitably, there are occasions where I am still asked to provide this information again when it's time for a withdrawal.

I save all paperwork and simply re forward the email that has already been provided previously.

It seems the Cashiers are terrifically disorganized when it comes to keeping track of these images and documents or could it possibly be a stalling tactic? The longer it sits in pending--the less likely they will ever have to pay many of their customers. This is especially true when it causes the withdrawal to sit in pending over a weekend and it is truly uncanny how frequently this happens. Unfortunately, I have allowed these tactics to work against me many times.

A "new processor" would have no record of earlier transactions, and so copies of the old cards would mean nothing to them, so why are they being requested just because a new processor is involved, yet the old processor was happy without them.

Given that this is "sensitive personal information" that should be held in a secure and traceable manner, it appears more likely that asking again for what they already have is more a "padding out" process intended to buy time for other reasons they prefer not to reveal, rather than a reflection of the incompetence of their staff to manage the personal information of players in a secure manner. Unfortunately, it comes across as the repeated losing of our documents sent previously, and if the casino cannot trace the whereabouts of them, how can they be certain they have been managed in accordance with proper procedures?

Particularly for US players, there have been incidents of mysterious charges appearing on cards used at casinos, with no real credible explanation having been given. Couple this with the sense that documents sent a while ago have to be resent because the casino has "no trace of the earlier ones" on file, players feel that the extra charges are the result of the earlier documents having gotten into the wrong hands.

I am wondering whether we have the full story. Just WHO is managing the players' security documents? Perhaps it isn't the casino at all, but the PROCESSOR that is ultimately being sent these documents, and so when an old processor loses the contract, or simply "does a runner", the casino does NOT necessarily have the documents to forward to the new processor, who also insists on having such player documentation before they will process anything. Why a new processor wants players to supply even long dead cards seems a mystery, it protects them from nothing. It's the OLD processor that stands to lose out should there be any repercussions on an old card, and with the business relationship severed between them and the casino, the casino is not really in a position to suffer.
