What happened to the multiplayer slots?

One of my favourite slots on 32Red is Multiplayer Isis. A few weeks ago it, along with all of the other multiplayer slots and games, (Wheel of Wealth, Playboy, Avalon etc.) disappeared from the download casino. I've spoken to live chat a couple of times since and they just say that their software provider is working on the problem and they hope they'll be back at some point, but as mentioned, that was a while ago.

I'm guessing they're talking about Microgaming, but after searching around, I can't find anything mentioned about these problems. Has anyone else heard anything?

If it's just 32Red, does anyone know of another reputable / recommended casino that has Multiplayer Isis and also accepts players from the UK?

Thanks! :)

It's not just 32Red, they have been removed across the board. Wheel of Wealth multiplayer was one of my favourites.

They also removed a bunch of poker games, and I noticed last deposit that Beach Party is no longer there. I don't know what else might be missing.

A considerable number of games have been quietly pulled, and this "the software provider is working on the problem" may be BS. Microgaming have been "working on the problem" that caused all MY favourites, the fruit machines, to be taken off line across the board since May 2014.

Whilst some games have been removed across the board, there have been other removals that have taken place of other games that 32Red still has (for now?). Previously, someone noticed a significant cull of the "power poker" offerings under Video Poker. I have also noted that a massive cull has taken place of the "casual games", leaving only 3, two scratchcards and keno. The Max Damage arcade game has also gone. The Rabcat slots have been widely pulled, but not by 32Red (yet?)

Thanks for the feedback.

It's a real shame, but it looks like you're both right....

I don't understand why they removed all of the multiplayer games in one go like that, it's not like they were unpopular. In fact, every time I joined Multiplayer Isis, most rooms were full of players day and night.

The MG fruit machines got pulled as they were compensated, you were able to force wins and there was also a manipulation with stake changing too, they were meant to be random and were found not to be compliant with regulation.

Here in the uk

Cat D, C, B3 and B4 is allowed to be compensated.
B3A, B2 and B1 must be 100% random

At the time they were pulled, the regulations had yet to come into force. As for the compensation, they were ALWAYS like this, and the engine had been tweaked a couple of times. I can't accept that Microgaming were completely in the dark about them being compensated games, so at one stage they must have accepted this as a trade off for having the most authentic "pub slots" of the online market. Not all of the "pub slots" could be forced or manipulated. They left "Pub Fruity" behind for over a year after the rest were pulled, but this went too in this recent cull.

Still, there is nothing to stop Microgaming from creating a new engine for these games, one that works like the other 3 reel slots, that is completely random.

Given the secrecy and misinformation, I would wonder whether regulatory issues also caused the multi player slots to get pulled. It's possible, as with any player vs player game, that they could be used to pass money from one player to another, albeit in relatively small amounts, just like the "sit & go" tournaments can be used by 5 players to channel their funds to one of the group. This might raise concerns about money laundering.

MG Fruit Machines such as 'Cop's & Robbers' could be sort of forced.

Playing on 0.10p bets for 'x' spins until you were getting close to the top feature but 'deliberately' losing.

Then crank up the bet size once it was 'gagging' knowing that the top feature wasn't far away, I am talking years back tho.

These 'fruities' must have been based on AWP programming to some degree as the 'force' or 'emptier' was way too similar to land based machines (mostly refusing wins to increase the RTP) which I have been playing for 25 years+

You always knew 'others were at it' especially with Cops and Robbers as when you first started out on a session, the copper would always catch you at the very start of the feature for a few times before letting you start to advance up the trail.

That's interesting! I first started playing fruit machines back in 1985, started with electro mechanical fruit machines and jpm system80s and all them lovely barcrest mpu3's then them bfm cops n robbers too! The cops n robbers club were so popular kept making them up to the gold version a few years ago.... I even ended up running my own amusement arcade for a 3 year stint from 1998. Those days were so great. So long gone these days. We rather have a good session online than walk into an arcade with a max jackpot of £500 machines!

Why go in an arcade? Many of the managers/owners were so thick and stupid they barred people for the 'force' citing along the lines of "it never holds on that/repeats so you must be fiddling it' and also refused to change coins if you won. Then you had the penniless hangers-around and watchers you wanted to punch constantly. Then the collection of flatulent grannies feeding the shrieking bar-x type crap and, to boot, the scroungers wanting to flog shoplifted goods for a few quid.
On top of that constant faults with coin mechs, random turn-offs of games and the shite 80-86% pay-outs and vile coffee and the appalling sit-down Party Time machines that seemed to attract every subnormal in the town - why on earth would I want to play 96% RTP slots online for?

I've had these types of customers in my time! When ever I bring out a new bandit, I "help" customers to get the hang of playing it and win... The regulars used to ask me to help them on certain features that I would do for them...
I hate these types of thick managers of large chains!

Feels like you've been sat on my shoulder my whole life :p :p - Could not have put it better myself!

However you forgot the giro day gamblers who'd rather spend a morning slotting than buy a bar of soap, the wannabe sharks who'd dive on your machine even though you'd emptied the fucker and then the complete addicts who'd leave arcade closing time, head straight to the nearest pub and end up with 4-5 part drunk pints on top of the machine just so the bar staff would part with some £1 coins!

Geez looking back I'd never run out of gambling related stories, kind of sad really

Edit: To add there is still a 'Lennie' (out of 'Of Mice and Men') character who goes in our 'local' arcade to this day, just to feed his benefits into 10p Party Time!!!

I shifted to the motorway services. NO managers to chuck one out, just the shop staff who didn't really care whether you were forcing, emptying, or doing your bollocks. Far fewer of the unsavoury characters too, except for those services within a cycle ride of a big city estate (nipped through the staff side entrance, didn't cycle down the motorway). I found that the best services were the ones well away from the big cities like Birmingham and Manchester. Those who came in from the cities knew how to play the machines, but the average coach party or travelling salesperson didn't really know what they were doing.

Now, the changes have killed the land machine scene, the stakes are just too high and the machines no longer have the same element of strategy and skill. The force still works, but the £100 never seems to repeat. The service station managers seem to have done their best to discourage the "players" who would rock up to spend hours playing the machines by outsourcing their car parks to the predatory management companies and jacking up the charges to as high as £25. I have made the occasional visit, and even when the place is heaving with holidaymakers, the arcades are virtually empty. I remember the days when the arcade was so full that each machine was occupied and most had a queue.

Well now I'm pissed. Today I discovered two of my "go to" slots are missing. Days of the Tsar and Jolly Jester. I played that one enough that 32Red named an virtual horse for a race style bonus offer game Jolly Jasmine.

Also it is taking forever to get games downloaded, and I have a good and fast connection. Does not help that 32Red now logs you out for inactivity after a pretty short period of time so you can't leave it open to wait for a favourite to finish.

This Microgaming games cull is getting out of control, and no one from the casino side has yet offered an explanation, yet we get plenty of emails and "explanations" about the new games every month.

It's probably many more games than even I thought because I would only really notice the vanishing of games that I play. I saw "Chief's Fortune" has vanished across the board, but that's because I play it regularly. It's an old 3 reeler, but has a bonus round related to the weather, the chief has to get dressed up for the rain dance, and usually cocks it up. The better his dress sense, the higher the win.

Microgaming used to have the reputation of NEVER getting rid of games, no matter how old they were. We STILL have 5 reel drive, one of the earliest video slots. It has no bonus round, and is so old that it uses weighted reels like the 3 reelers rather than random reel stops and varying length reel strips.

I am sure that the outcry will be far bigger if a classic like the original Thunderstruck was to disappear.

Money talks. I love 'Tsar' myself, and exactly because it is a 'go to' slot, it is getting pulled. It just doesn't bring in the bucks (for the provider). New slots (like Koi) have a much more clever pay-table. People think they have a chance, but the (T)RTP is in the features. So either play it perfectly (like BlackJack) or suffer. I'm sure the RTP in new slots these days is about 90%. Stick with old slots, with no features. RTP just based on reel layout.

That slot won't be going anywhere, it is a right money maker for MG and IMO as popular today as it was many moons ago.

My fear regarding Thunderstruck is that sooner or later they will probably give it the dreaded 'HD Treatment' :(

Whilst it seems unlikely, they HAVE removed games that have been popular enough for people to have noticed and made a fuss. If a game was truly unpopular, and it was removed, no one would notice.

I am also wondering whether their licencing of external material might one day bite them in the ass by forcing them to remove a VERY popular game and one that made them a great deal of money. They got caught out once with LOTR, but what about others like the Batman pair and Game of Thrones. They are at the mercy of the rights holder when it becomes time for renewal, and we could find that they have to yank Game of Thrones, Jurassic Park etc regardless of the views of the players and operators.

As for Thunderstruck, the dreaded HD treatment is inevitable. I suspect they intend giving the entire back catalog this HD treatment over time. They have already revamped the Thunderstruck series, and presumably the next step is the HD treatment. It could be that pulling large numbers of the less popular games is an alternative means of eventually going fully HD, and it's cheaper to pull an underperforming game than give it the HD treatment if this isn't thought likely to get it more play.

ever even think about touching my husband-blond-womanizer-slot...

I will immediately quit gambling if they touch it and convert it into the elephants direction...
