Welcome back everyone!!!

:yahoo:

Three cheers for Bryan's efforts over the last few days. I can only imagine what a technicolored PITA that must have been.

Hi All,

When the URL kept timing out Sunday I thought a backbone had gone down, until I did some checks and realised CM was down.

Anyway a gallant effort on the part of Bryan for getting everything back up and transferred to another server

Oh and yes I was having withdrawals :D

Cheers

:)

Dave

Hi all,

Yeah - it was a bit of a hassle, but it gave me a chance to work on my daughter's website, and Max went and saw a movie.

On the upside, Casinomeister is now probably the most secure portal out there. We're also still being targeted with about 1gig per second, but now it's not phasing us at all :D

There are still some issues of non functioning aspects of the forum and main site. These are being tended to over the course of today and tomorrow - so don't be alarmed if you receive error messages occasionally.

Should we start a public 'Ooopsy!' list or have you got that covered?

Sure did! VALHALLA RISING directed by Nicolas Winding Refn. Think 'Conan' without the steroids and minus the evil overlord and no magic and ... okay, maybe 'Conan' isn't the best point of reference. Anyway, saw it, not at all what I expected, loved it.:thumbsup:

man that sucked i was trying to find some info on winpalace if it was a rogue or not and couldn't get on here. no matter couldn't meet the playthrough so in the end no biggy. good to be back

There will still be some hiccups and bumps over the next day or so.

But whatever the case - this was a malicious attack on Casinomeister - an extremely powerful one that took out the entire network of our previous server. Thus we moved to a bullet proof site.

As the night wears on, you'll be seeing the site gradually come back up to normal.

Ok

Imagine if you will, 10000 peeps all ask you a different question at the same time and your brain goes into lockdown mode...;)

Thanks, that really sucks. Glad its coming back up, sorry it happened!

Rob, my head explodes with two questions at a time, great analogy, I get it.

Extremely glad to to be able to log in and see the site back up and running. I found out about the attack on online casino review and guard dog. It's amazing what people will do for entertainment...anyways..good to be back!!

I can imagine it has been a headache for the owner, an inconvenience for the members, but a completely pointless act of vandalism from the perpetrator, who ultimately achieves nothing.

Infact these attacks prove time and time again to be counter productive, as the end result is usually a major overhaul of security, and stiff resolve from all partys affected.

Good to see it back up and running.

Mike

I read that people on a hack site were congratulating or being glad that whoever did this was successful. I also read that webcas was hit and was able to get his site back online shortly.

Whoever did this sees CM as a threat and they also enjoyed having this site down for 3-4 days..anyways glad to see everybody back together again:thumbsup:

Can you pm Bryan the link to the site in question please.

Congrats. Bryan on getting it back up.....man i missed coming here. :notworthy I couldn't figure out on the weekend, why i couldn't connect to the forum... I hope you figure out who did this and the morons get whats coming to them!!!

Wow Gloria please name & shame the people that wished this on CM or anyone else for that matter.
Sick minded people.& yes people sitting behind a keyboard that would never would face you in person.
Glad to see you up & running again Bryan.
It's just sad to see this happen to a good person.

In the Police and Justice Act 2006, the United Kingdom specifically outlawed denial-of-service attacks and set a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison
The UK statute book is full of tough sounding maximum sentences, but most of the time the sentences handed out are a fraction of this.

A good example of this is death by dangerous driving, maximum 10 years in prison, the reality is nearly all offenders serve less than half of this.

So British justice sounding tough for 10 years on denial-of-service attacks, yet this so called tough justice gives the likes of Venables and Thompson just 8 years for crimes which are unspeakably sick.

Good work Mr Meister

CM now has a super-server, faster, more secure and better all round. I once worked for a company who paid thousands to some people to attack their server so they could detect and improve security. And you got it all free LOL :D

I am so glad that Casinomeister is up and running again. I thought for a second that Casinomeister was gone for good until I read on another forum about the attack. I am truly disgusted about what happened.
Kudo's to Bryan and team for getting the problem resolved.:notworthy
