Weirdities with my RTG accounts...

Just received an email from Aladdins Gold saying my password had been reset since I'd had difficulty logging in. Well... I don't even have that casino installed anymore (tho I DO have an account there) and haven't even tried to log in. (Emails to & from their CS are just going 'round in circles and they think I don't understand how a password reset works.)

A few weeks ago, I couldn't log in at INetBet (for the first time ever - and no, I didn't have my caps lock on and didn't forget my password) and DID have to get a password reset.

What I'm thinking is that someone is going around trying to get into my accounts. Maybe I'm overly paranoid, but my mousey whiskers are tingling and I think something is rotten in Denmark.

Mousey, be sure to run a virus and malware scan just to be on the safe side and make sure you don't have any nasties hiding on your computer before changing any of your account usernames or passwords.

A few weeks ago I downloaded something from cnet that came with this bloody adware - all of a sudden I was seeing these stupid dating ads appearing up everywhere, I was getting kinda pissed about it thinking that all these sites I go to were doing it and it turned out to be on my computer. When I finally realized what it was I was able to get rid of it, but when I uninstalled it, it triggered another virus that was trying to phone out from my computer. Lucky my antivirus caught it and killed it, and then I quickly did a boot time scan and found that it had replicated itself already.

That reminds me, I'm pretty pissed at cnet right now.

Have you tried asking the sites what IP was used last time a login was attempted? It's not 100% proof, but will confirm any doubts you have by either confirming a third-party outside attempt (different IP) OR if you know you weren't online at the time and your IP was used, malware is present.

CNet should be shot for what they include in 'free' downloads. It used to be trusted, now, it installs so much adware/malware - despite clicking and unclicking the proper 'no' buttons - that I won't download from there anymore.

I ran a full scan last night with my Norton's and then with malwarebytes... nothing amiss so far.

Dunover, that's a good idea but I can't even get CS at Aladdins Gold to understand what the problem is in the first place - they are not actually reading my emails. They see the word 'password' and out pops the generic 'reset password' reply.

It's probably too late to get INetBet in on this as I reset the password myself a couple weeks ago, and back tracking to a IP that's not mine trying to log in would be too complicated. I may however email Aladdins again and see if someone can figure out what I'm asking.

I'd contact the rep and if they can't help maybe they can give you a direct email to someone who can. You need to speak to someone beyond generic support, most of those people (sorry CWC) don't have a bloody clue most of the time what you're even talking about unless you're asking for a free chip or something.

Hi Mousey

Sorry to hear you are possibly having issues.

If you PM me your user name I can check all the IPs back to when you thought the problem arose.

Best regards
Emily

Thanks so much to Emily of INetbet for checking on this for me. No one (other than my one IP) has logged in to my account in the past 2 months. So that account is okey dokey.

...that takes care of my INet account.

Still waiting to hear back from AG/CW support. If I haven/t received an email reply by this evening, I will contact the CW forum rep.

My apologies for bumping my own thread, but to be fair to Aladdin's Gold/CW, I wanted to let you all know that the CW rep has been in touch and they are looking into the password reset issue for me.

OK... Last bump...

Karolina tells me no one has logged into my account since spring of last year. Good. RTG can't tell who initiated the Reset request. Not so good, but I can't do anything about how RTG keeps up with things.

No one has been into my account and it is not being used for nefarious purposes, so I consider this resolved.

Even though there is still the matter of how a password reset came about -- I will leave that to CW to sort out in-house should they choose to do so.

I do not doubt that most accounts are pounded by hackers trying to guess passwords. Though I'm not so sure how much good it would do to gain access since player to player transfer is not a feature of casinos.

I know I was astonished years ago to see that one of hubby's poker accounts had been pounded with hundreds of attempts to log in... from Belarus, Malaysia, the Ukraine, etc., etc. Of course poker sites are (or were) prime fodder... log in to someone else's account, transfer balance to thief's account, spirit those monies to a waiting ewallet, voila! instant wealth.

At any rate, my accounts seem to be safe so we're done here.
