I have questions for my hubby. He plays for "fun" at Poker Stars. Has about 16 million in fun chips. Well, he did a reboot of his pc last night due to a problem with a different site. Unrelated to poker.

After any updates, etc,. Poker Stars didn't recognize his email or password. He tried several things and could not get back in. They no longer have a "support" on line from what he could see. He played there almost every night. Hates to lose all his "fun" chips.

Have they been bought by another entity? Any suggestions on how to get back in there and still have all his chips? I really hate to see him need another site and lose all those chips. fun or not!

Advice please!

Thanks, weesie

You say he tried many things, but didn't elaborate?

Just gonna throw some ideas that you've probably aready thought of.

Uhm, gonna get it out the way and assume he's tried the 'forgotten password/'reset password' option that should be available ?

He tried inputting the username and password with it showing visibly as he types it out? (Just incase he had a dodgy keyboard where a key sticks to other keys, or where 1 doesnt work very well anymore, or a dodgy touch screen)

He has tried logging in with a different device/phone?

Perhaps try downloading the app and see if that works, or maybe try using the browser version if he was previously using the app already. if he was previously using the app, perhaps uninstalling then reinstalling the app will perform some random miracle. If he does reinstall the app, it's probably best to delete the cache/data etc from currently installed app, before doing so.

It's possible I guess, but doubtful, that the acount has been requested to reset a new password. Maybe he got an email about being required to do so, but perhaps had missed the mail.
SkyBet did this to me a few months ago, forcing me to change my password, and IIRC, Skybet are owned by the same company as Pokerstars. However, it would possibly also state such a request on the login page if this was the case, as well as being mentioned in an email.

I would never send anyone near reddit unless they were in the most absolute of dire straights. So, maybe this page I've linkec and its replies may help shed some light on your problem:

If he "rebooted" the device (I'll assume you meant reformatted), maybe the way it is now connecting to the internet (ethernet connection/wireless, etc, etc) is different than it was before, and therefore perhaps not recognised his location any longer.

Surely Pokerstars have telephone contact details. Or, he could perhaps email their customer service team.

Good luck, and I hope he gets his fat stack back!

He tried a lot of different things. Only way to talk to support is through email and they are not too quick with answers. He says they have been bought by an Indian Co. and he thinks they just want to rid themselves of the "for fun" group that just wants to play with no money involved.

I have been looking for another site for him. I found one but it appears to be new and the tables are very limited. They only "open" one table until it is full then open a second. Odd, in my opinion. So, I am still looking for an alternative for him.

I play at everygame.eu in real money play. I could ask them if he could open an account as well but only for "fun".

Hardest part to accept in all this is his loss of over 1 million "play" chips he has at Poker Stars

I know the feeling. Many moons ago before playing for real cash, I had accumulated gazillions on some site where they would hold a daily 50 player fun tournament.
Managed to win it 4 times in a row after the first unsuccessful attempt, so muh balance was humongous. Actually got quite an audience for a freebie game too. Can't recall what site, going back 20+ years now.

Then some *Ren&Stimpy voice* EEDIOT friend of the guy who I shared an office job with decided to log in when I was out for lunch, and somehow manage to empty the entire balance on play cash tables before my return.
Impressed, I was not. Still hurts thinking about it sometimes, I'd made friends with some of the regs too, but so annoyed I just never went back.

Anyway, regarding what you said in your last post, I personally can't see them just quietly trying to shun playmoney players away. You'd expect some sort of email or site/account notice about such changes rather than doing it this way, which would only result in many customers trying to contact them, clogging up the already slow customer services.

Maybe if he still desires to get that account back up and running he/you could try contacting them via Facebook or any other social media platforms they have accounts on.

Sorry to hear it hasn't been sorted though :(.
