CM,

You might like to check Link Removed ( Old/Invalid) which is being spammed by damiandunlop at therx. It appears to be a front for a bonus site, which uses "Virtual Vegas Now was voted best online casino of 2003 & 2004 by Casinomeister!" in it's text at the top of the page.

there's more

The download button downloads the Vegas Red casino and the site suggests that Damian and CM talked out their differences over some beers.

This looks more like one of those crappy Tony Friedman / Windows Casino sites to me (and that Safebet and RTG "legally licensed and fully insured" rubbish is up there in lights)

I would bet the Meister will be less than happy with the following statements on the site, which I am sure are economical with the truth:

Quote: Virtual Vegas Now was voted best online casino of 2003 & 2004 by Casinomeister! Unquote

and this - right above the ass-slapping graphic:

Quote: Legally licensed and fully insured, Virtual Vegas Now offers the highest quality casino gaming environment and the most secure payment system on the net. Virtual Vegas Now is among the top 10 online casinos. Virtual Vegas Now online gambling casino has also been entitled to carry the official seal of approval from SafeBet, the E*Gaming Commission, the Internet Gaming Commission,OPA, and Casinomeister Unquote

Finally:

Quote: Casinomeister (with pic !): I had a few beers with the casino owner and I approved them. Unquote.

Uh, guys? It's a put-on. If you click one of the links you find yourself presented with some info on bad casinos. It seems to be a little experiment on Damian's part....to see how far someone would go for free money. I repeat....it's not real......

It doesn't really matter what Dunlap's intention is - unless this was done with the permission and cooperation of the Casinomeister, which I would find surprising it is abusing his name and reputation.

If this is another of these rather malicious stunts of DD it is irresponsible in my view.

Virtual Vegas

Not only does Vegas Red come up when downloading "Virtual Vegas", but, after conversation with Vegas Red Live Chat who emphatically denied any knowledge or affiliation with same, when I clicked on contact information, the email address that came up the half a dozen times I attempted contact, was for connect to casino, as I recall. Additionally, this casino site very blatantly states that "Casinomeister" voted it top site in 2003 and 2004 or 2002 and 2003. There is a direct link to Casinomeister from this site, as well. Casinomeister, do you, in fact, recommend them? By the way, I understand how busy everyone there is, but, when you have a minute or two, could someone give me their opinion, good, bad or indifferent, of "Worldwide Vegas", another online casino? Thanks much, pja1n :what:

pja1....It's not a real website. It's a put-on website with different links to different casinos, etc. Any references to Casinomeister recommending anything on that website was made up. There is no free money, there is no legitimacy whatsoever.
Think of it as online gambling performance (cough, cough) art.

As for Worldwide Vegas, All I know is once in awhile I get a card in the snailmail with a coupon code for a free chip. I play, I lose, then promptly forget that this casino exists. So, I suppose my comment would be "indifferent".

Virtual Vegas "Fraud"!

Swamp,
The roundabout, sneaky behavior this site exhibits was a clear indicator, at least for me, of their lack of integrity and moral fiber. Not that this is the first time I've run into this, however, especially abhorrent to me is the out and out fraud practiced, as to listing Casinomeister as a referral. There must be something that can be done to stop these lies and hold whomever is doing this responsible for their actions. Additionally, I notified Vegas Red of same, via live chat and the support rep I was online with couldn't have been LESS interested. So......

I am surprised this disgraceful example of unprofessional conduct is still up on the Internet. The instigator has surely had enough time to reconsider his gross misjudgement here and take it down.

Gross misjudgement aside, the site was up to prove a point, that players don't read anything other then "free". The refrences to casinomeister were in jest and not to be taken seriosly..........hence the point of the entire site. It was not to be taken seriously. In fact all the redirects from the "download now" sent the reader/potential player to a page informing them how important it was to conduct research before downloading and depositing at any internet casino. It also provided direct links to casinomeister, WOL and the OPU.

The site is now a blog, so everyone that was so concerned and upset can now relax, and continue on with your lives. :D

Joke site or not, if Casinomeister was to be a part of it then I should had been consulted before it went up. I was not. When it was brought to my attention that Casinomeister and my name was involved, I requested that all references to this should be removed. They were not not as well. Looks like milking the "joke" and getting some attention was the only thing that concerned the OPU.

I'm still on the road, but I have a few things to say about this when I get back.

Your defence of this idiotic behaviour stuns me, M249a. If the instigator is Bethug/ DD then it is unacceptable but typically malicious and silly. But I would hope for a more responsible attitude than supporting it from you.

Put yourself in Casinomeister's shoes for a moment - what would your reaction be to this blatantly false misuse of his good name, given the threats made against the 'Meister by this individual? And that's not to mention deliberately misleading readers using the name of others to play this "jest".

Surely it is time for your organisation to rein Damian in a little?

Although I have not been involved in the world of internet gaming as long as you two, I am getting a crash course in just how lawless and unregulated the industry and for that matter, the internet as a whole is.

Several user names (including mine) have been used to redirect search engine hits to some casino named Intertops.com . One of their affiliates (or so the casino claims) used this tatic as a marketing ploy to redirect searchs of my user name, as well as mods and staff in the OPU, to intertops. We are still tracking down who is responsible. Prime example of someones name used in vain. At the end of the day, there is a whole bunch of nothing we can do about it. We filed compliants with the search engines, but even if we track down whoever is responsible, there isn't really anything more then a nasty email we can do.

When the site in question went up, careful steps were taken to ensure no one was slandered. It was designed to show how easily an unethical advertiseing approach could be used to suck money out of player pockets, simply by putting up names and complete bullshit quotes. The ONLY thing that mattered to the vast majority of viewers was the free money. We included some of the most ridiculous things we could imagine, such as the fake quote from Bryan, as well as a flash image of a shaking ass, and a free car ect...We took NO money from anyone, not one cent. We did however make certian that those who clicked thru saw links to here, wol and the OPU as places to conduct research before simply diving head first into a free money offer at any casino.

We did not affect Bryans ability to earn a living, if anything we made sure casinomeister got credit as the place to go to conduct research and ask questions. The vegas red link did not have an affiliate code in it, so any new players they got......well good for them.

If it is an apology you want, then here it is.....I'm sorry if you took it to mean something it wasn't.

We did not profit from this, it was meant as a way to prove how guliable and money hungry players can be when that almighty dollar is flashed in their faces.

The site is down, if it didn't come down quickly enough, well again I am sorry. And it won't happen again.

It also provided direct links to casinomeister, WOL and the OPU.

No offence, Mark, but to lump your endeavour in with WOL and Casinomeister is very misleading and entirely non-representative of the truth. I'm no fan of WOL, but your OPU site cannot be mentioned in the same breath - my differences with them aside.
