Videoslots - Newly Accredited

I have had the 'checking browser' page loading before the site would load (was out for the day in the car-so using iphone connected to partner's hotspot wifi for data and safari) this arvo around 4pm-ish, managed to log in a bit over an hour ago-then made a deposit via skrill and had the successful payment screen load, clicked continue and nothing happening-usually can hit refresh or open VS in a new tab and everything will have gone through and carry on playing. Couldn't get new tab to load, browser check then server not responding failure... Did the usual-clear/reset mob etc etc then thought it had to be the telco provider here, Vodafone-they often have eff ups with data etc especially on weekends and ended up getting home and connected to my home wifi/laptop and no joy-get the offline page/cloudflare popup warning and can't log in etc thankfully the Chat button worked-Freaked out thinking maybe Aussies had been restricted from the casino or something terrifying like that LoL... Thought I might see if my deposit can be sent back-it was only a small one but it was literally the very last of my few dollars for the weekend until payday on Friday so OMG how unlucky to have the site get smashed right as I hit the payment button-half my luck HA!... Have just spoke with Live Chat, who explained this DDOS thingamajig and also that finance team been hit by the attack as well and it's pretty serious and maybe a few hours before up and running again?!

I guess the DDoS from this early morning was just a "warning" with a few dozen GB bandwidth, which is typical in such cases. The attackers show their prowess and ask for some ransom. I am sure VS would have declined to pay and now we see the second wave coming in which usually goes into 100's GB or even TB's in bandwidth. Can be pretty devastating for them, see BA's example last year.

Really hope to be proven wrong.

SSL handshake error can be a configuration problem between their servers and cloudflare,im not sure that Videoslots used cloudflare before,it could have been implemented yesteday after the first ddos attack.
They need to do several things when the implement it and the following ddos attacks could be due to missed configurations, like securing their dns-servers.

They just have bad bandwidth... It has been improved but not enought, before you could tell when free battle tournaments started while playing as ususal...long delays and interuptions in gameplay when all vultures attacking the free touneys!
 
So the site is down due to Ddos attacks, but cloudflare should prevent this so i cant understand how the site can be down?

I'm not really that techie/IT-educated but I get the gyst of attacks/viruses/hacking etc-based on wiki as per Dan's post or what I see on TV or movies haha but with this sort of attack-what is the point for the "perpetrator" really? Like I get it if some anonymous vigilantes hack some secure site to be all wiki-leaking information for the greater good of humanity like the secret formula to cure aids or something but this just seems so fruitless and nonsensical and ultimately cost time and money for VS and annoy us players:rolleyes:

Ransom! Pay up or be shut down!

Unfortunately, it is that. This is how these people make their "living". And they know it will cost companies like VS a good chunk of money to be down for several hours, hence they will keep going at it until they get what they want OR the site successfully repels the attacks, speak keeps staying online OR the site goes totally down, e.g Betat last year was off for over 7 weeks before they restored some sort of normal operation.

These attacks happen on a daily basis but usually we as users down see anything as VS will have defenses in place that can deal with it. The question is always until when? How large of an attack can it repel? Depends of course what kind of bandwidth the attackers have at their disposal.

The point of a ddos attack is to casue downtime,and downtime=loss of income.
Usually they will contact the victim of a ddos attack and say that they will stop the attack if they pay them a x amount.

Am on Live Chat now-just managed to access the site after that 'browser check' page loaded up, managed to log in but balance is reading as 0.00 and Account History shows no ins/outs that match my earlier deposit, nor Skrill has not been credited with anything either... Am quite upset now, it was only ten odd bucks, but it was my last few dollars and I was so keen to have a play only for the site to crash and now my money is in limbo-or if it helped pay the paper bag ransom, then ok:thumbsup:

Quick edit/update: Issue has to be sent through to Financial Team...no ETA on resolution, not sure if money has been received/sent back or what and can't have any spins added or such to have a little play in the meantime... Not sure if battles are working for me but unlikely eligible to play as doubtful to have met WR... Chat are great and quick to reply, but can't do much help at moment---Just thought I'd add the deets in case anyone else logs in and has same problems with funds :)

Dan that is not entirely true, I had £20 taken from my bank account and was never credited, I just gave up in the end as it was only £20 but nevertheless it still left my account

yeah I sent my bank screenshots to you along with the times the money was taken, but you said support could not find them, even though they were taken out of my account and never used, It was after pressing the deposit button it said deposit failed but still taken from my account. I just gave up in the end.

Of course, following Dan's post and my first CS chat, I had faith that the money would be safe-I did not even think it would disappear or anything...Following the thread on the attack, my only thought was that when I could finally log back in when the site was running again it would be a bit of a drag probably and I'd have dramas with lag/loading if they got swamped as everyone logged back on! I assumed I would just log in and the balace reflect my deposit.... I didn't care if the money had been withdrawn as per my first request or left as is in the VS balance, as long as I had access to it either way but I am pretty upset that it's kinda nowhere now-not registered in my history yet taken from Skrill and especially upset that nothing can be offered in the mean time nor is there a time frame on when it might be resolved... I actually am unsure if it has been received at all at VS end or was automatically bounced back or so on. If I had other payment options open to me wouldn't care and would redeposit to play in the meantime as I trust the missing money will be sent back either way but I can't do that so back to waiting:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I know and given the protocols in place to deter/prevent/protect casinos and players from fraud etc it's sometimes a touchy issue with that sort of thing that it can sometimes be more pain to follow up for fear of being banned, or labelled a scammer or even feeling like the red tape and support process will be drawn out, take too long and ultimately cause more stress than it is worth for the lost funds or whatnot. But in my experience-VS isn't like that and I have usually found CS to be pretty good and efficient at resolving my problems (...though once I did get a narky dude who accused me of credit card theft:eek: Like OMG, if I was a thief or savvy credit fraudster in the 1st place do ya reckon I'd be wasting time playing the slots with $10-20 deposits and 18c spins, don't think so LOL-but the dude simply threw the accusation at me when I thought mate, takes two seconds to at least have a quick squiz at my history:what:) though initially i did not want to pester Dan for his help, I had little option in the end and turned to CM and as usual, Dan resolved it in no time.

As everyone agrees, he is fab to deal with so definitely flick him a msg to see if there is something that can be done ougfor your lost money! Often, I do tend to avoid going straight to support, preferring to check CM posts or make sure my devices are not the problem. And I am not always quick to get screenshots a lot of the time either, and sometimes it's just a hassle to ask if you know it's gonna need photos and other things emailed here and there so I totally get it, but for me £20 is over $30aud so I'd be defs checking up on it lol-I get peeved if a free spin doesn't work and deducts my balance a few cents LOL. With VS a lot of the time, if CS isn't helpful, Always have faith in Dan-always been a great help-even if it's something he can't fix or can do anything about, I trust that he will always make effort to reply to my PM and have a look even if it's shut me up LOL, and to make me feel better and not feel like CS just palmed off the problem:o

Mobile site is logging in fine, but still no trace of my deposited funds-same boat as you, around 8 hours since making deposit... Then site crashed within seconds of successful payment so it's now prob been maybe 5 hours since relogin & missing deposit issue raised with support etc

Hi all,

We are still working on restoring everything from this morning DDOS attacks. I would recommend you to contact our support so they can assist you if you are missing a deposit. I believe this will be the fastest and quickest way.

Please always feel free to contact me via PM if you want me to help out, but I would need the same information so I can pass it on. It should work to make a deposit now but you can always ask in the live chat first, and they will give you an update.

Bare in mind that it can take a bit longer than usual this time to receive the missing deposit due to this morning but it will be solved asap.

Same situation here. I've contacted cs twice, first time straight after incident second time 6 hours later. I've received 2 emails in the same time from 2 different representatives that I need to provide payment reference ID. Since then (over 2 hours ago) no news, no contact, no money in my account.

Just had another Live Chat about this... Knocking on 12 hours now since first made deposit. Seems to be no updates/progress and according to Chat, there is no record of the deposit whatsoever-which is fine, say if it bounced back to Skrill, but I can't afford to and don't really want to make the international phone call to them to find out anything and it's probably really not worth it since they will say 'oh it's processed here and to contact the other party' or whatever... I hate that it's all over a few bucks for me but when it's all I had to play with and I'm feeling a bit peeved over a tenner-but sheesh I really feel for those of you that have large sums missing!

Sounds like no compensation is going to be offered and CS couldn't add them on even if there was... I know it would be a huge loss to automatically credit accounts following this crash but sheesh still a bit of a let down really.

Either way we should not have to go to Skrill to get our money. Transaction was confirmed by VS.
It is not my fault that their system went down and was not able to register the transfer during the DDOS attack. Unless it wasn't DDOS attack but just hack that went out of control and damaged their system. Ok, I won't be speculating anymore :)

I thought I saw a Live Chat function on Skrill a while ago-but can never seem to find it when I do need help.. Maybe not available on mobile site? Hmm..

Even so, Skrill support...well they often don't really offer much more info than what I can see already on my app and just ends up costing a $27 phone call LOL. But also, awesome for you to get a little extra pressy from the bank following your ordeal thats super:cool:-not so lucky for little niceities like that here is Aus-Even if it was their bad-they'd prob find way to charge a fee for it ha!

It gets me how disconnected all these institutions like between banks/ewallets etc also make it pretty annoying to solve things quickly-sometimes I gotta explain to one what the other is and does :rolleyes: the bank says it's the ewallet and they say it's the bank but then the merchant says another and it can be scary to contemplate starting a help ticket! Have some restrictions with gambling and payment types here in Aus too governed by the fun police which can also be a headache.

Then, if you manage ro make progress... only for the withdrawal/refund to have a processing/approval period and then it's another few days for the money to be sent and so on...... As if it's a huge treacherous journey across vast deserts strapped to the back of a donkey until the migration flight patterns align and a pigeon can intercept the package to drop it off as it soars over my hemisphere... But when the shops wanna take it-click, beep, merely hover it near an eftpos terminal and boom, cha ching.

On the Skrill/VS bit...I was also kinda curious as to what steps perhaps I could take to try and help find my VS mystery monies and speed it up-i guess Like how Paypal has that buyer protection thingo or if there was a way I could send a reversal or something. Also since, I had initally requested the withdrawal after the first contact with chat y'day evening, and then since then, I wasn't able to find out what had been done/sent/approved/eta at VS...

I don't know much about hacks/attacks so forgive my newbie experience-but the amazing techy wonders of the internet I guess I didn't expect the fix to take more than a few hours, or at least have a bit more intel on the finer deets...not just that it will "hopefully be resolved...'soon' " :what:
 
To help the payment team track your deposit, take a screen shot of your Skrill account showing only the transaction made to "Panda Media Ltd" with the reference number. Also make sure to give them your skrill email.

You should double check your account because a lot of deposit has been tracked and credited last few hours.
 
Yes, seems to be resolved and balance credited with my lost deposit... Email from support offers no further info just that the money has now been added and that ai am free to contact support if I have any more queries about this matter...! Mystery solved, my frustration levels still a bit on edge though...

Reconsidering putting so much of my my faith into VS though TBH... I know it was a big hack thing that noone can be blamed for but noneeless.. Slightly disappointed and still in disbelief-as I am every time with VS and issues that I have ever had in the past-that just end up with me closing off the chats feeling like why did i bother?! Mainly that I had so much determination to keep my 'status' after the time and money I had spent grinding away to get to Level 21 and beyond that I didn't wanna give up but really-I get this last attack/crash and drama is gonna cost them and maybe be a big loss to bottom line and obvs can't expect credits for everyone to be dished out to each person affected...

but honestly, some sites have much better procedures in place and often comp accoounts with spins/chips for a lot less-and without asking-have had FS offered in the past just so that I could have a bit of a roll while I waited for the CS team to work their magic in the background! Or even allowing missed bonus offers to be reinstated another time following inaccessible site issues! That site actively seeks my custom and personalises offers to me and CS often make me feel quite comfortable or remember me (or quickly read all the notes against my name) but thats not the point, its the service aspect and feel like a chat, not a cut and pasted message.

VS has great rewards and such with monday/friday deals, but if you had your money lost in limbo today you couldn't exactly play to earn more towards to your points/cashbacks etc and like me WR fail meantbattles were a no-go...so it's like you get what you're given and you gotta wait for undisclosed amount of time for something to maybe get fixed and in the meantime we can't help you earn a little bit of a better prize while you wait so you can remember the good times and want to play here more and more--even though its not your fault and we're a bit sorry so here's some spins to make you at least feel like we care mate:rolleyes:

Given I only have 2 top sites, the latter is becoming #1 in my mind.. Or I might just start afresh someplace new I dunno! Yolo... This must have been a massive attack since their payment part has been affected, hence I can assure you that they had much bigger issues to take care of first than crediting the odd 20 bucks. They have gone through each account and credited the deposits where they were missing due to the attack, must have been hundreds if not thousands of records to sift through. Hence it takes time and some patience from the affected players is certainly not too much to ask for.

To say goodbye to VS after this is your decision but it does not show great loyalty to them, especially at times like this weekend.

Yes, seems to be resolved and balance credited with my lost deposit... Email from support offers no further info just that the money has now been added and that ai am free to contact support if I have any more queries about this matter...! Mystery solved, my frustration levels still a bit on edge though...

Reconsidering putting so much of my my faith into VS though TBH... I know it was a big hack thing that noone can be blamed for but noneeless.. Slightly disappointed and still in disbelief-as I am every time with VS and issues that I have ever had in the past-that just end up with me closing off the chats feeling like why did i bother?! Mainly that I had so much determination to keep my 'status' after the time and money I had spent grinding away to get to Level 21 and beyond that I didn't wanna give up but really-I get this last attack/crash and drama is gonna cost them and maybe be a big loss to bottom line and obvs can't expect credits for everyone to be dished out to each person affected...

but honestly, some sites have much better procedures in place and often comp accoounts with spins/chips for a lot less-and without asking-have had FS offered in the past just so that I could have a bit of a roll while I waited for the CS team to work their magic in the background! Or even allowing missed bonus offers to be reinstated another time following inaccessible site issues! That site actively seeks my custom and personalises offers to me and CS often make me feel quite comfortable or remember me (or quickly read all the notes against my name) but thats not the point, its the service aspect and feel like a chat, not a cut and pasted message.
