She literally hasn't said a thing and it's like the messiah is amongst us, Trump followers get stick for being blind but not dems; I suppose it's more them being relieved that they no longer have to keep up the biden pretense, can actually vote for someone not senile and confused by memory loss.

You see it with some of their shows - they have, for example, an expert who many view as left and feel the need to balance with a right wing view from someone not even remotely qualified (gossip columnists): leading to a false equivalence mode of debate (no doubt to fend off bias criticism). -as you said, the ex journo's will point to undue attention given to the right view, the right will say it's biased and unfortunately the bbc has tied itself in knots to the extent it's pretty much neutered.

It is easy to get sucked into your own bias - ideally for every Guardian article, you'd read an Express etc - time permitting - for common stories it's always worth seeing the spin both sides used - as you said, sometimes it's as subtle as the wording used, other times it's over (or under emphasis) placed on certain words or actions.

Dogmatism is a horrible trait people have but one which many run with - though, change your mind and you're a flip flopper!

I think if Newsom had/has wanted and got it (rather than blindly back Biden), the odds would be a tad shorter - not sure how much, mind you (edit - see you said Evens)

With Clinton and Obama, in their 40's at the time, beating older juggernauts there's a wee bit of history of a bit of vibrancy giving polling a boost - like or loathe those two though, they had a smidge more charisma than Harris though, so Newsom would be the best option.

Which of Donald Trump’s policies do you specifically support, and how do you believe he is going to achieve those goals? To be honest, all I’ve seen in the media on both sides, including watching live coverage of a few of his rallies, are generalisations like “I will reverse the terrible policies put in place by Biden/Harris”, “I will reduce inflation and crime”, and “I will take care of America’s borders” etc. But nothing about how these objectives will be achieved.

I don't believe Trump's a particularly great orator, he's essentially a non-politician who reads pre-prepared scripts to a loved-in voter base. When pressed on something or going ad-lib is when the inevitable faux pas occur - nothing we didn't know before.

Yet the notion that Kamala Harris has suddenly become a natural speaker and will not get thrown off-track in a debate isn't something I'd be too sure about either. She's eloquent when she needs to be, but fairly ropey when not reading a teleprompter, being memed mercilessly throughout her political career.

However, she's more free to go on the offensive during a debate, whilst Trump will inevitably get goaded into a slanging match and look all the worse for it, as he can't help himself.

I've seen snippets of political commentators suggesting Harris won't engage in a September showdown herself due to the aforementioned fear of letting her go off-script!

Early days of course, but the Harris campaign has been very stop-start from its inception, perhaps not creating the buzz it ought to.

She's announced as presumptive nominee, followed by lulls. Then a massive surge in fund raising, then further lulls. Half-hearted and late support from the Obama royalty, then the Democratic convention and fanfare, no doubt!.....then crickets.

These four months will drag it seems, and with little momentum generated thus far, certainly not like previous elections, like the Obama phenomenon or even the strange 2016 zeitgeist

Perhaps given Kamala's dubious 'immigration czsar' record and prior gaffes we'll not truly see any real continuity in her messaging, something the Democratic machine can't even conjure up, and certainly not to an international audience!

Every few years I need a good blow up. I work in a high stress job and see what left policies have done to little kids as I work with them in hospitals. i cant do this in public or at work so Ive used your forum to go after the types who have supported such horrific policies. I knew beforehand what I was doing and have been surprised at how lenient you have been as I have clearly thrown some grenades in here. I totally admit it.

Which of Donald Trump’s policies do you specifically support, and how do you believe he is going to achieve those goals? To be honest, all I’ve seen in the media on both sides, including watching live coverage of a few of his rallies, are generalisations like “I will reverse the terrible policies put in place by Biden/Harris”, “I will reduce inflation and crime”, and “I will take care of America’s borders” etc. But nothing about how these objectives will be achieved.

It would be helpful to hear some specifics from your side of things.

As a former doctor and now in upper management for hospitals across Ontario, I support his policies mostly because he will stop the transitioning of children, puberty blockers and that sort of thing.

The human brain isn't done growing until your 20's.

We dont allow children to decide if they want to drink alcohol, smoke, gamble until 19-21 because we do not trust their judgement. Same reason as a parent doesnt allow their kid to eat junk food and provides them nutritious food. If it was up to a kid, they would eat cookies all day.

You arent even allowed to get a tattoo until you're 16 (with parental permission)

But suddenly a child should be able to choose to be castrated, puberty blockers?

I have seen the damage it has done to kids. The suicide rates of trans people is through the roof. They need medication and therapy first. This is not opinion, this is fact based.

Then when they reach the proper age, they can do as they please.

Then I agree with closed borders. Opening borders destroys countries. Look at Canada and the housing crisis because they let immigrants pour in. It's a mess.

Immigration is fine but you have to have it controlled. The health care system, economy and housing simply cannot support it and in turn it will cause inflation, crime, housing crisis' etc


I saw what he did in his 4 years. No inflation, no wars, closed borders. Those are important to me so I support that. He sounded like a tool on the world stage with covid (not the greatest speaker), I would say that and fighting with the media was really the only thing that annoyed me about him.

No way will Trump be able to out debate a seasoned attorney, one that was the Attorney General for the State of California.

Of course, there will be a large section of Trump's support that will not be swayed whatever happens. But when they do debate, it will be fun to watch, as I reckon all that Trump will have in his Wordsmithery Arsenal will be baseless insults and disingenuous comments.

I agree with he doesnt have to out debate her. All he has to do is call out her policies like Tulsi did. She destroyed her.

One single policy can be your downfall.

She is on video stating and laughing she wants to jail parents if their kids miss school.

Aside from that, she is VP of a president who has been a disaster. Wars, inflation, open borders, riots, attacks on police etc.

He just needs to stick to the basics, not interrupt, not overly insult her and it should be pretty easy. Americans are pretty tired in general of this mess so shouldnt be too hard if Trumpy can keep his rhetoric down
