I sometimes feel unworthy of being a member here because I still feel like I know nothing.
Does it put you off sharing your experiences and thoughts? There is so much I am learning in my short time here with out ever learning fully.
Do you long term and knowing members just put up with us?
It seems to me that many of the more knowing posters do not engage in here when they could do?
Do you ever think that your unworthy of posting in here?

Well it's a public forum which anyone can join (unless you're a spammer or scammer) so why feel unworthy to post here ? I'm sure if the "longterm and knowing" members want their own private forum or subforum then they will have one . I post here because I spend a lot of my time gambling and it's a great place to find out stuff and share your thoughts and experiences about the gambling world . Think I joined up to every casino on the UK accredited list . I used to only play at Ladbrokes/32Red/Willhill etc because they were the big names and I didn't know any better

Me three. I am learning all the time. I try to post if I think I have something constructive to post. When I started out I was a bit afraid of sounding stupid but as time goes on that doesn't matter much anymore. This is a forum for gamblers where we can hash out our issues with people who understand us and get us. I can't have these conversations with my family because then I will get the gambling is bad lecture so this forum has become my escape and my gambling home.

I think every member here adds value to the site and there are some cracking threads and great laughs to be had. You fit right in here Colin along with all of us crazies:p

Stop being a Silly Sally.

Colin, we are in one way all the same....gamblers that come here to share stuff and look for advice ......which we cannot do with the "real" world.

I love the mix we have here at CM and wouldn't like to be in another forum.

Just keep in here, one of these days you too will be seasoned.

Felt that way for my first 3 years of so, and a lot of my knowledge comes from being a member and following the threads. I still have quite a few days or stretches when I feel that way, but it rarely stops me from posting. :p

Everyone is new at one point, and you are just getting a little less shiny. You post, you participate, and your input is valuable.

Many of the active posters from when I joined this forum are no longer posting, and you contribute valuably to CM in my opinion.

As Harry said, a common interest brings us all together.

know how you feel,I lurk and read tons here(thx by the way everyone) great advise, great stories,I just don't post much.
Love it here and thx again everyone

lol edit just seen my joined date 2011 = 18 posts

Couldn't help but think of this....:)

Nope, when I look back at my posts from years back, it's amazing how much I've picked up along the way...:notworthy

:) I've been in the business since 1998, still learn something new pretty much every day. And I'm well aware that there's a lot more to learn, "known unknowns and unknown unknowns" as someone ( ;) ) said not so long ago.

As to not being worthy ... fugeddaboudit! There are no tests or credential checks here. Showing up is your entrance requirement, end of.

Once you're here just live and learn, help others where you can, spread no evil: at the end of the day the people _are_ the community.

No member here is unworthy. I rather enjoy seeing newer members come aboard and posting frequently, it keeps the board fresh. As lazy poster myself, I think it's great that some members post like they're overdosing on caffeine.

There's always something interesting going on here besides gambling too, be it a jaffa cake controversy, TAB-gate or some over heating political rants. In the end, different views makes it a place for discussion and everone's contribution counts.

There's also free beer available from time to time. :D:drink:

This has been a great school

It took me 2 years before I made my first post. I did post in some other forums but picked up the knowledge and moral from here. Most other forums was just about free money trying to get as much as possible, without caring about the industry at all. Many are still like that.
This place was different and still are.
I'm still scared to post though always thinking I'm saying something wrong or stupid, which I also do:p Then I like to think that I've helped and contributed a lot over the years too.
I've found nice friends here and I've learned a bit English on the way too. Great place

awsome post :)

Unworthy :confused::confused:

You're one of the better contributors here.

IMO, its not just about, avoid this casino, look at these new terms, check out my big one

Its about being a community also, your injection of humour, tongue in cheek posts, together with your more 'serious' contributions are spot on.

Stop Stressing, I'm the worrier ok :p

It doesn't matter how experienced you are, the human condition ensures you'll never know everything ;) I like to think I know a lot, but as Max said above, I learn something new pretty much every day. The way you learn about any topic is sharing information. If those who know stop being willing to share, or make you feel small for not knowing, then they've forgotten that they once had to learn too and are no longer worth listening too.....

There's a reason I check for complaints at CM twice a year

I couldnt agree less with you GC.

In my opinion you are one of the better and more balanced contributors to this forum and as you know from some of our PM conversations I, for one, value your input highly

To be fair Colin, when some experiienced members go off on a tangent and get super technical with their fancy shmancy jargon on actual serious casino matters, this is how it appears on my screen:

I myself have no real knowledge of the casino industry, I just like being here and chatting to fellow gamblers,

Its only a fellow gambler that can understand your frustrations and share in your joy when you get a super rare hit.

*I was only thinking this morning in all the years I have played the Rhino I still have no idea how the wins are made up when the yellow trees appear I.e 2x 3x, I just dont understand it and I often marvel at how quick Dunover works a win out, I just sit back and let it count up

Mate, why would you deem yourself unworthy.
Every member contributes to this forum in his/her own way and so do you!
So to me you are defo not unworthy, far from that!

The only ones unworthy would be the spammers and the scammers, they better be gone as quick as they came.

So do not worry man.

To me you are a valued member.

Yeah, that was an experience:eek:
I expect to see you again in London in 5 weeks, and also several other reps and members from here. Please come people!

I can definately say that it became easier to be a member here and talk to people when I had met them. Even dunover the talking machine that actually can be really nice :)
I'm a bit scary for real too though :D

You're doing fine Colin , i have days like that , also days where im dry )

I'm still learning, some great threads here , you bring up some great comments , i've been here a fair while , like to have a grumble as well .

sometimes as long term members i myself don't comment on lots of things due to seeing them over & over again over the years .

But is great to have fresh people different thinking & things.

Everyone here is a gambler so just by reading the threads you learn a fair ammount & don't think any of us are unworthy as members that's what makes the forum )

Look, GC may have a cross to bear in that he hails from the same neck of the woods as Thrush & Herpes and Cheryl Tweedy but that's not his fault and he's OK, so why the confidence crisis? I can honestly say I have never ever looked at any seasoned contributor here and made assumptions about their knowledge. The thread baffles me! :)

The things you post at 3 in the morning when very drunk! Tut tut :(

I had just finished nice sessions in SkyVegas and Videoslots and was finishing off the bottle while looking in here. But after a year and a half I still feel like I have a lot to learn from the good folk in here

I feel the exact same way after 8 years :)

I think that's a good thing because it mean we care and are humble persons, who are just doing the best we can.
You are definately a worthy member!

There are some lovely replies, thanks. Being here is a bit like being at school. But who's the dodgy teacher?

You are definately a worthy member!

I drunkenly thought that the title would draw attention that's all. I am an attention seeking drunken slot strumpet

I have been here since 2009 and readily admit, I still have a lot to learn and don't spend the time learning as many have done.

Don't let not being the BEST, stop you. It has never stopped me.

I post when I have time and something triggers my interest.

Hang in there and just keep learning every time you log on..............I know I do.

Agree with this.

Forums are by nature transient places, especially when you consider that gambling is something that a lot of people try to stop doing so it is only natural for them to pass through during a period in their lives and pass out again later.

Back when I first joined, forums could be tough places to play. We had our fair share of posters here who would be deliberately aggressive and confrontational, arrogant or just downright rude. We (Bryan and us mods) made a conscious decision to start to clear the forum of these posters to encourage others to join in and feel they could be part of it without being intimidated through inexperience or by having a more placid nature. It upset a few people - you'll never keep everyone happy all of the time obviously - but the conversational aspect of CM became much more diverse and less aggressive.

So it's good that we have all levels of experience, all types of player and that so many are happy to engage in generally good-natured and constructive threads. There will always be emotion tied in with gambling, that is inevitable but forums like CM can potentially help to unravel issues in a more balanced manner which hopefully all of us can get some benefit from, irrespective of experience.

So don't feel intimidated - no-one's going to laugh at you. Except maybe goatwack and I'm sure that's good-natured :D

Gosh I remember some of those posts. When I joined back in 2009 I spent quite a lot of time reading old threads and remember thinking how rude some of the people were. Glad CM isn't like that anymore.

Crikey, I must've been overlooked, phew! :D

Great thread! I also do have times when I don't feel worthy, but I laugh and see the true nature of out little community. Great pep's.Outstanding advice.Unrelenting question's when the OP is a crack.

I have not been here that long. But I think we are all a unique group of gamer's and MOST good human's. There are a few alien's thou.:axeman:

Most outsider's would not think that we would offer advice to a player who is in trouble and need's to hear the truth.Offer help and mean it. I think that we will continue to grow and the name will be the standard for the gaming forum group's.

Colin, you are a needed member and I must say you are always in on the thread's that matter.Peace Out! Out Of The Mist! shewoff

People are busy and cannot always respond... people also come n go it's how it is on any forum.

As for feeling unworthy that's an odd one.... I think you choose to feel how you do/want /shrug
I have never felt that way here or anywhere I go online..........

We always learn whether we realise it at the time or not though :)

Meh weird /shrug :P

Not every forum will be perfect. There may be some troll hiding somewhere waiting to come up at a right time to make a post to make it a very troll to mess around with. Not everyone will like you on forum really. Its not perfect place to be. I am not perfect either. I can be stupid or silly or troll or anything like that sometimes but luckily for you I am not a repeat offender serious troll wannabe.

Chill your beans because I am ruthless too.
Mainly because my last girlfriend was called Ruth until she did a runner. :(

I remember being a newbie and knowing squat and now at old-hat am still picking up something new all the time ...like anything the gambling world evolves.

Often new members will pm me asking me for help navigating the site or for general info just as I still pm members asking qs. :)

Maybe the only unworthiness one could argue are those that have this great fount of knowledge at hand and refuse to utilize thinking (erringly) they already have all the answers.
