UK Severe Weather Warning

2days ago there was a sprinkle of white stuff in the southeast near me..
Yesturday 2 big local supermarkets were emptied of bread.
Today in my town, in parts, there is almost 2mm of snow. Due to probable limited choice atm and everyone having stocked up for the 2mm burst, Im gambling that i will be able to get tesco finest super seeded come the mornin.

Actually, speaking of Tesco (the connoisseur's choice) every home delivery slot was 'unavailable' for Thursday, which led me to believe either a) your theory on people stocking provisions for the cold or b) the drivers were not allowed to navigate the snowflake found near where I live

Had to.....sorry....gimme a sec.........go into Iceland & (recoils) Liddls for some supplies

Hahaha a snowflake! Yeah those automatic delivery vehicles probably got to much power under em for such conditions. Though feck that, can imagine havin to deliver some teabags and milk to some sweet lady at the top of a perilous stairway onlt to be told how late you are as your balls frost together.

As for lidl.. eek. That's like loading up BOD on an uknown casino where the only info you currently have is that it doesn't carry a uk licence. ;)

We weren't really forecast for much snow here in cornwall so ofc it was blizzard conditions all morning :p was pretty cool got a few inches and with the strong winds it was pretty cold and wild . Also in the afternoon it melted very slightly and then froze over again made the roads and paths super icy so walking through town around 5pm was hilarious everyone skating along on their shoes trying not to fall over and laughing at those who did

If Liddl were a lady it would be the painted maypole of the high street. But don't get me started on Tesco delivery drivers - on the whole they've been ok, but we've had some lazy c*nts. If you get to not help them do their job and carry crates through the street then it's a good day :what:

Can't believe a bit of snow could impact their business like that.....further up where it's a bit cold, sure. Yet here.....not so sure. It could well be health & safety gone mad, the ninnies

I have to venture out today, only -11c as I have to go to the BMW stealership for the annual MOT and service. My cods have already shrunk just looking outside, it really is bitter, like sticking my head in the deep freeze. The cat walked up to the cat flap and stuck it's nose through, thought 'fuck this!' and just went back to its bed.

Well, here in Edinburgh we ended up with about 15cm of snow, low of -10C or so last night. Judging from traffic and the news the city has pretty much shut down. Those that are driving seem happy to observe the 20mph speed limit for a change.

Typical notice for the day:
...Due to severe weather conditions Edinburgh Gin Distillery is closed today. Unfortunately this means all tours are cancelled ...

Daycares are being rerouted to the pubs. :D

Its been snowing a lot for a few days here in Sweden. :eek2::eek:

They should move the Christmas to feb/mars instead of december, couse i love a real white x-mas.:D

Well we finally had a brush with the “Beast from the East” - about a centimetre max. :p

Lo and behold, they’ve shut the schools for the week and people are panic buying like it’s the apocalypse...

But hey ho, it does look priddy!! ❤️

(I’d upload a photo - but it doesn’t matter how much I crop it, it keeps saying it’s too big...)

Took a turn for the worse around here last night, not due to the snow as such as we only had 3 or 4 heavy showers dropping about 5- 10 cm, more to do with the fact i live in a very flat area of farming and the wind decided to move the contents of the fields and put it on the main roads. Main road not far from me went from clear to 4 to 5ft snow mounds in around 20 min.

A lot of people not at work today due to snow mounds, However i did see Fred Flintstone had braved it this morning so hope he got there okay

Just got a txt and email from the school. It's closing at midday. Not even snowing here at the moment and about 1mm in total on the ground.
Same here. Some powdery drifting snow, all the staff and kids are still alive at school today and they decide to shut the bastard 'in case' at lunchtime. FFS! :(
